Boy, can I relate to your situation!!! I am also a paternal grandma but in biological terms only. Three beautiful grandbabies that I never get to keep simply because the DIL's parents live right next door to son and DIL and maternal grandma has been the "designated" grandma. In fact, if we want to see them at all, we have to make the trip to son's house. It's very heartbreaking that being paternal grandparents we get left out. Being a grandparent is not what it's cracked up to be. Been more heartache than anything. And I love them dearly, including my testicle-less son. ;-)
