My 5-year-old son has sensory intergration dysfunction (SID) It is impossible to get him to eat anything. He lives on Pizza Rolls and Ramen noodle soup. He gets naseous at the site of other foods. He actually vomited when I put my plate of spaghetti and meatballs on the table next to him. He is only in pre-school now. He also has developmental delays. He went to the cafeteria with his class one day and the teacher had to take him away because she thought he was going to vomit. What am I going to do when he has to go to the cafeteria every day? How am I going to pack soup or pizza rolls? AaHHH. He is in occupational therapy. Since they introduced a second therapist to help with his language and eating skills, we have had to leave early because he takes fits of crying and is totally non compliant. He only has one 45-minute session a week. Last week it was 15 minutes of therapy and 15 minutes of crying and I left out of frustration. Both the therapists sit around days ahead trying to think of alternatives to getting him to even look at food. They admitted that he is their toughest challenge. Tonight he helped me make a fruit smoothie for his dad. After a few seconds of watching the smoothie swirl in the blender, he ran to the other room. When I gave him his pizza rolls for supper, he could not eat them because his stomach hurt. Later on he settled for 2 pieces of wheat bread. Anyone else with similar issues? I could use some help.
Sorry to blab on, but I love my kid.
