casinos and gambling
I happen to live in an area with multiple Indian casinos a brief drive from my home. My girlfriend and I go about once or twice a month on Friday nites to eat our "free" meal and then I only bring 40 to 60 dollars to play. It is just fun to people watch and be in the action for a couple of hours. I sometimes win, mostly don't but if I can go home with what I brought or even something in my wallet, I feel like I've won. It's a great way for us to rehash our work week (we've know each other for 40 years)...and have some fun. She has a lucky gene, I'm sure of it so I spend a lot of time just watching her push buttons.
Soooo let's talk casinos and gambling
I had lunch today with my women's golf group at a buffet inside one of the local casinos. I was astounded to see how many people were in there, gambling away, mid-day, mid-week. I must admit, I've never been in a casino before this afternoon, so I am totally in the dark as to what the appeal is.
Any of you here enjoy the games, the gambling, the atmosphere (at least it wasn't smoky!)? What's the draw, cuz I sure don't get it?
ballparks, raceways, night classes at local jr college, casinos...? NM
