I have boxers and I used to work with a boxer rescue. Yes, they have a lengthy application, yes they want references and yes they want to see the house, but not to "inspect". What they are looking for is that you are what you stated, you have a fenced in yard, your home is not a rental (or if it is you have the okay of the landlord to have a dog) or an apartment. You would be surprised how many people lie on those applications. The rescue dogs have already been through a lot. The rescues vet them, love them, know what their temperment is and only want them to finally find a forever home. Boxers are wonderful dogs but they are not the dog for everyone. A lot of the time at the home visit is spent on going over questions the adopter may have as well. With a rescue dog you know what you are getting.

There are many rescues for mini pinpins
We just purchased a puggle and she has been very gentle, and very smart. Not one accident even in her kennel at night. She is a big baby though and doesn't like to be alone, a lap dog pretty much, but has playful moments too. If you are looking for an indoor dog you might want to check them out or the mini pinpins. Good luck to you, whatever you get, I am a firm believer that like children the "parenting" is what is going to make the difference in a good dog or bad one. :)
