Thanks! I have one too for a pumpkin cheesecake.
I have tried many and this is the one my family begs me to bring for the holidays. It is the best! I use a little more cinnamon and nutmeg than recipe calls for.

INGREDIENTS:
2 8 oz. packages (16 oz. total) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup pumpkin purée
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 large eggs
1 9-inch graham cracker pie crust

PREPARATION:
Combine cream cheese, pumpkin, sugar, vanilla, and spices; mix with a hand mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs; mix until blended. Pour into graham cracker crust. Bake at 350° F for 35 to 45 minutes, or until set. Cool. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, or overnight.

Serve with whipped topping.

This recipe is not over the top sweet so the whipped topping really compliments it perfectly.

You have to try it!

Canned pumpkin - not pumpkin pie filling but sm
take your mix, add 1 can (i think 15 oz?) and one cup of water. Mix and bake as usual. This is an old Weight Watchers friendly recipe and is about 100 calories per serving, high in fiber and DELICIOUS. Make great cup cakes too.
CHEESECAKE!!!!

Gotta be cheesecake,

but my mother's bread pudding and rice pudding had to be the ultimate!  I just wish she had taught me to make them!

I am going to make a cheesecake desert but have question for you ...sm
I am going to make a graham cracker crust in a 13 x 9 pan and then put a cheesecake layer on top of that..probably the ready to eat kind already made in the dairy isle. On top of that layer I want to add a layer of butterscotch pudding and then a layer of cool whip and then maybe top it with a sprinkling of butterscotch chips. My question is when I cut it do you think the pudding will run or slide right off of the cheesecake layer?? Making this for my dad who loves butterscotch and cheesecake, so I thought I would combine the two and make a yummy desert. Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!
OMG, this looks delicious!!! NM

s
that sounds delicious!
And I don't have lard in my house either, nor did my mother cook with it when we were growing up, but think my grandpa did in his cornbread.  I look for healthier ways to prepare our favorite southern dishes; rarely fry chicken (usually get it from Publix...yummy), don't fry veggies (cept for okra), but sometimes just get a hankering for good ole southern food...go to the Blue Willow in Social Circle, load up, and enjoy!
Sounds delicious
Thanks for the recipe.  I can't wait to try it.
I also think that some delicious food
is the ine of the best ideas.
After all, we all have to eat to stay alive!
that sounds delicious!

That sound delicious. - thanks
We like stuff we can keep in the fridge to much on when hungry. Will definitely try this. Thanks.
sounds delicious -- my little boy is in the kitchen
i set him up with the mixer in the sink so he doesn't make too huge of a mess.  he loves baking cakes cuz it's like a science project (he's 8)... loves baking...

Couple of easy delicious deserts
Go to eaglebrand.com and put in chocolate rasberry cheescake -- easy to make and I get more compliments on this than anything I have evey brought to a party.  And I make from scratch all the time but this is so easy and especially men love it.   Another one is a apple/spice cake from Betty Crocker web page.  Kids love this one.  You basically add a can of apples -- though I substitute fresh apples, cook them like you would for a compote instead of the canned -- in the mix and it is so goooooooooooooooood.  All of my nephews and nieces ask that I make it when I come to a family gathering.   So there are a couple.  But I do a lot of search on web pages and on the Food Network and find wonderful recipes.  Good luck.
Quick and easy...tastes delicious, but
Start by boiling one box of Santa Maria pasta--or any kind that looks like a large piece of rice. Drain. Put in a large bowl and add one to two large cans of chicken. Drain some of the juice off of the chicken, but leave some also for the chiken salad. I usually drain the chicken and then use a fork to cut up the pieces in the can and that usually produces more juice and than I add it to the pasta. Next add one jar of Marzetti slaw dressing and 1/2 cup of Mayo. Mix well. This mixutre will look like a giant bowl of soup at this point. Cover and put in the frige over night, or if making in the morning put in frige for entire day until dinnertime. Take out of the frige and mix well. It will now be thick like chicken salad is supposed to be! At this point I usually add some almond slivers and serve on croissants or other yummy breads. I know this sounds really wierd, but it tastes wonderful and is so easy to make.
That sounds delicious! I wish I had V8. It's rainy and cold so I might have sm
to compromise and use something else. thanks for the idea!
Could you email me the recipe for this? Sounds delicious NM

Yum - pumpkin . . .
Thanks for posting this.  I'm going to try it, as I am always looking for recipes without eggs - my son is allergic to them.  Recipes with pumpkin always seem to turn out the best and as you said - very moist.
Pumpkin pie
I was at the store the other day and they were baking pumpkin pies. It smelled sooo good. I've been dreaming about it ever since. If I make one I'll have to eat it by myself because no one else in the family likes them.

I love this time of year! It's cold outside, beef stew with corn muffins, football, pumpkin pie, the fireplace turned on. Just love it!
stuffed pumpkin
Anyone have a good recipe for stuffed pumpkin or anything that would go well with that type of menu? Stuck!

Does anyone know how many points this is on WW?
Pumpkin disappoinment
...Know how you feel. I too got very excited and committed this year to doing an organic garden. I had my husband make me three raised beds, bought tons of organic soil, organic seeds for pumpkins, squashes, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, you name it. I first read all the how to books on organic gardening. Everything was coming up beautifully - thick green vines for the pumpkins. Then in a flash, everything kind of shirveled up, got weird looking, and I wanted to cry. Turns out after much research on the net I find I had a destructive bug that infected all the squashes and pumpkins with bacterial wilt. I tried to save everything, but looks like I will only have two to four pumpkins this first year. What did I learn? I neglected to look up all the things that could go wrong - infectious virus, animals, bugs, sudden hot temperature, all the stuff that was not in the books I had bought. Now I am better armed, and next year, I will be well prepared for what can go wrong. Oh, there is a book you can buy on Amazon.com called How to Grow Pumpkins, and that book has everything. Don't give up, keep trying for next year. I know what you mean about spending a fortune to buy pumpkins. I do the same thing each year and had hoped I could save myself some money.

lol gotta have that pumpkin pie!
that's great that your niece is doing that. I'm sure everyone will tell her how perfect they are, even if they are terrible. lol My 10yo "made" the pies this year. I just supervised. I was quite surprised he wanted to help. He was hesitant on making the pie crust and kept wanting me to finish it for him but I stood ground and told him he couldn't possible mess it up and that I wouldn't have given him the option if I thought he would fail. He's very proud of the pies now that they are done. Even said he'd like to try the pumpkin this year! I dont' think he's ever had a bite of pumpkin before.
Pumpkin and apple pie
And my mother-in-law makes a cherry cream and chocolate cream pie to die for. We go to my parents every year and my mother does all of the baking.
Pumpkin pie and marionberry pie from a
country cafe a few miles away that smell fabulous and a vegan chocolate cake for me (may not sound good but is!
Same here. My 2 favorite things are pumpkin
pie and sweet potato casserole. Hubby can't stand the smell of either one in the kitchen! :(
I did the annual Libby pumpkin pie- sm
and something called pecan tassies.....kind of like minature pecan pies, in small muffin pan, about 1.25 inch or so in diamter, yummy. Did 2 batches this morning after I finished the pie. Now unfortunately back to work as we are going away Saturday and I need to finish up about 150 minutes of work staring at me.

Would have a really good recipe for pumpkin spice latte?
o
I use Pumpkin Spice Torani syrup also purchased at (sm)
Cash N Carry - I have a pump on the bottle  and put a couple of squirts in - I only like light flavored pumpkin - but you could adjust depending on your preference.  I put it in the milk before heating otherwise it cools it down too quickly. Great - now you are making me crave one too!! :)
My pumpkins are gone! I planted 4 pumpkin seeds in March sm

which grew up really nice and started to grow out like vines - got pretty white flowers in them which means the pumpkins would be coming out in a few weeks.

I haven't checked up on them all week because we've had plenty of rain so I haven't had to water them.  I go today with my big bucket of water and there was only dirt left with holes. They dug them up and ate EVERYTHING - the stalks, flowers, everything!  I am really upset.

I have 3 boys - 2 little ones, and we live in the country. Every year I spend about 80.00 on pumpkins decorating our porch, land, etc with pumpkins. I though I'd be a little more economical and plant seeds in the spring which cost a dollar so that I could have nice, ripe pumpkins, as many as I wanted - for the fall.

I'm thinking rabbits got them. We have indoor cat/dog so it wasn't my animals. I'm not sure what to do next spring. I'm not giving up. How can I keep animals from getting to them like that???

I want to cry.......I've been going out into the field and watching them grow..they were my babies..

Lookin' for a savory dinner-in-a-pumpkin recipe or a sweet one like the other one
s
I've never posted a recipe here, but these pumpkin spice muffins are the best and are absolutely

I was told it is a Weight Watcher's recipte.

one box spice cake mix

one small can (not the large can) pumpkin mix

half cup water

I made them for dinner last night (and breakfast this morning too) and my very picky family absolutely loved them and how simple is that.  Just mix the three together.  I used a mini muffin pan.  The are the most moist muffins I have ever had.  Hope you enjoy and, again, they aren't too bad for you either.

6 pumpkin pies, 2 vinegar pies and a chocolate chiffon pie sm
So now that I have caught your attention...just what is a vinegar pie, you ask.

In the south, they are referred to as transparent pie. You will sometimes hear it called sweet and sour pie. It is good real cider vinegar, the kind with the mother at the bottom, brown sugar, white sugar, butter and eggs, a bit of flour. It is like water when you put in the shell. You bake it for an hour and it comes out about like the goo in a pecan pie with no nuts. It is not sour a bit, nor is it sickly sweet. It is sweet with a bit of an apple bite. The kids love it and when younger son is home for the holidays, he will devour one of them at a sitting. He literally comes in and sees the vinegar pie, takes one and says: So...what is everyone else having? The other son won't eat pumpkin or vinegar, so he has the chocolate chiffon. The rest of us are pumpkin eaters.
