PMS/PMDD and perimenopause...

With my PMS/PMDD I get very irritable, angry, and very uninhibited! I used to get really...almost violent...throw things, etc. Prozac for 2 weeks of the month helped tremendously!
For the perimenopause, I get sooooo tired, almost lethargic. I could literally sleep for 24 hours or more if my husband wasn't here to wake me up. I can't even finish my shifts at work cuz I get so sleepy I literally fall asleep at the keyboard! It's awful. I tried progesterone cream from the doctor but that didn't seem to help at all. I feel like it gets worse every month. I can't function. Can't do anything. Anyone know of help for that? Caffeine doesn't work. Tried one of those 5 hour energy drinks and was sound asleep within 10 minutes. Even tried one of my son's Adderall to no avail. If I don't figure something out soon I'm afraid they're going to fire me!

Perimenopause
I like Kelp. From the health food store. Follow the directions and make sure from your work up that your thyroid is not high to begin with. Mine is borderline low and Kelp saved my life. I had to give up the coffee and chocolate. I stopped flying into a rage after that. Skullcap and Valerian separately and together help for those "really bad days." Good Luck.
Perimenopause HELP!
Okay, I need advice advice advice! Once a month I turn into this crab to no end. I know it is PMDD. I just know it! I have tried all kinds of medicines for this, now trying chasteberry, cohash did not work. A doc said I may be perimenopause. But there is no cure for it. Just eat well, exercise and all of that. Sure. I transcribe for a living, does that give them any idea? LOL.
Anyway, aside from putting duct tape on my mouth every certain time of the month, and aside from the Serenity mantra, what can I do? My poor husband. He knows why I turn into a shrew and he deals with it. I have managed to keep my ugliness to myself lately, but this month there have been 2 times I got crabby.
I won't give up chocolate or caffeine around that time they are what I crave! And no it's not all about me. I just want this time to pass in my life but it could go on for years. Been to the doc, I don't want those birth control pills. I tried just about everything I can think of. Thank goodness today my "girlfriend" showed up so I know that we are all safe (including me) for another couple of weeks before the crab shows up again.
If any of you out there understand what I am saying... and if you have some miraculous advice please put it here...I want to be normal and I don't want to have to "get fixed (my exhusband said that)" to be normal. LOL. Thanks in advance for your very important advice.
I'm 50, perimenopause, and have been getting migraines since my 30s. SM
My grandma used to call them her "sick headaches" before we knew about migraines. Mine are always on one side of my head, and I develop runny eyes and sore throat, along with a host of weird symptoms. I keep telling myself I will get Rx meds, but never do. The headaches seem to be getting better as I age. One thing I do is to munch on crushed ice, for some reason that helps a little. My headaches last for days sometimes.
Hope your headache is gone by now.
Terrible PMS - perimenopause? anyone else? sm
I have always had some PMS but for the last six months or so it is awful! I physically feel like I am in danger for a full day before my period. I mean my mind knows I am not, but my body is freaking out, heart palpitations, and that tense feeling in your chest like you would have if someone was chasing you or something! Has anyone else had PMS this bad and if so did you find a cure?? Thanks!
perimenopause/menopause
Anyone here go through the perimenopause/menopause without hormones. No birth control pills or HRT?
Mostly, how long did the perimenopause last before the year without the period?
