I can't stop laughing....Whoopi in the middle? If she is in the middle, rush limbaugh is very far
She is further left than Rosie.
We are close in that we live about five miles from each other, but we aren't close like good frie
By husband and BIL WERE pretty good friends, though.
If you are set on closing, do not close the old ones, close a newer account first.
Your credit is based on a mix of things like history, types of accounts, mix of credit (revolving vs installment), usage/utilization of credit available, and payment history. Where closing could hurt your score is the part of the score that averages history of accounts/length of credit. If you decide to close, close out a newer account first.
The best way to protect from ID theft as far as credit is to freeze your credit reports. It's around $10 per agency to freeze them. Each credit reporting agency tries to sell your their own monitoring plan when you get to the how to freeze information, so make
sure you are freezing it.
You can't freeze it over the net they each require a letter by registered mail. It takes about 1 month to freeze it.
Right now you can place a fraud alert on your reports for free. The credit *should* not extend credit or do a credit line increase without calling the phone # on your credit report first. You only need to do it at one credit reporting agency and the other ones will be notfied. The number for equifax fraud alert 1-888-766-0008. It's automated.
If you are concerned about ID theft try one of the monitoring plans. I've tried a few of them and Equifax has the best one. Their Score Watch is great, you set the limits to be notified and any change they send an email literaly the next day. I used it after I discovered ID theft. It might be a waste of money for you. I would place the fraud alerts, then the freeze, and check your reports 2x per year.
I've had ID theft as far as my name/social but what concerns me more than credit ID theft is bank account theft. I don't know how we can fight that. It seems like consumers get the raw end of the deal as far rights when deposit accounts are stolen.
Orlando!! Here we come!
WE have booked our vacation!! We are taking our girls (7 and 3) to Orlando. We plan on doing Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World. Any recommendations for any of these? Disney world has Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM and Epcot. We are thinking about just doing Magic Kingdom for 2 days. has anyone been to the others and feel it is appropriate for the girls age? Anything else fun anyone has done in Orlando? Thanks!!!!
Today for Orlando, FL.
LOL! That is too funny! We did the same thing in Orlando
My husband and I went to Orlando a few years ago and stopped a travel information center to look for good places to stay. The rep there set us up with a 5-star timeshare resort for less than $300 for a whole week, and we got discounted tickets to Seaworld, Universal Studios, and Animal Kingdom. The timeshare was REALLY nice with HUGE rooms with a jacuzzi, a deck overlooking one of their many pools, and it was right on a lake. We had to do time timeshare tour one of our days there, and it was awful! The sales woman was so incredibly pushy and wouldn't let us leave at the time the thing was supposed to be over! She even made us late for Seaworld! Ugh!
Got it, very strange- what about the lakes in Orlando
with the amoebas that have killed 2-3 kids when they went swimming and 3 in Texas this summer. Just heard on CNN. Posters went up, lots not paying heed. Authorities say these are always there but when water gets 80 or above tends to bring them up from the mulk on the bottom. Symptoms are like meningitis and within a few days the people have died. Always something new and scary. I am moving to Canada- my daughter visited there and said the news not directed to scare like here in the US.
Crispy you say, it is 96 d. here in Orlando at 4:56 pm and we hit 100 today in my neck of the woods,
not including heat index. It has been just a gray haze for days now.
Precious! Many places will have state-to-state drivers form a chain

Do you think those are the only 2 beaches
in the U.S.? You don't have to pick an area with crime to still enjoy beautiful beaches & keep your tourist dollars in our country to help our own damaged economy. We have how many miles of beaches in the U.S.?
Fl may have humidity, but our beaches are

Beaches near Disney?
Are there any nice clean beaches anywhere close to DisneyWorld that would be a nice place for kids too on vacation?
Disney has its own beaches
Ah, maybe 5-6 on the property and really loads of fun for everyone. Other that that, Orlando is middle Fla as far as I know, not close to beaches but people more familiar might know differently.
Most beaches have bicycles
for the sand. They are seated like a go kart, sort of, and you lean back/recline, steer with your hands on levers at the side, and pedal out in front of you (like a pedal boat, for lack of a better comparison). I've always meant to rent one. It looks like major fun to me!
My favorite CA beaches:
For wild coastlines, rocky shores, big waves emptiness... the further north the better, such as Mendocino, and on up into Oregon. Upside: Great walks, quiet time & beachcoming. Downside: Colder weather in summer, surf to rough for swimming, and lots of seals = sharks.
For warmer water but more people: Santa Barbara county has outstanding beaches. Further north there are less-populated beaches with good surfing. Also some, like Emma Wood State Beach or Gaviota State Park, where you can camp.
UC Santa Barbara actually has a lovely beach, as well, and the campus is fun to explore on bikes. In town, there is Stearns wharf, warm sandy beaches, art shows along the Cabrillo Blvd. sidewalk on Sundays, a bike path, a zoo, great restaurants, lots of nice day-trips from that area.
Ventura Beach has some nice hotels right near the water, good bathing & surfing beaches.
LA county has many from Zuma to Santa Monica, too numerous to name. Malibu Creek beach is good for body-surfing, because the water coming into the ocean from the creek there is warmer and clearer.
Santa Monica, Venice & Marina Del Rey are my favorite choice because of all the things right along the water there are to do. The bike path goes all the way from Malibu from the north, all the way down to Huntington Beach and beyond. GREAT biking (you can rent them there) and skating (you can rent those there, as well). If you like to shop, there are lots of funky little shops along the Boardwalk near Windward Plaza. On weekends there's always some sort of entertainment going on. Lots of restaurants, from pizza joints to upscale eateries. Also just 10 min. away from the LA Airport, so a short, cheap cab ride from LAX will get you there.
More expensive hotels are along the waterfront, obviously, but with a family and a budget, stay on Washington street - the further from the beach, the cheaper the rates.
Between LA and San Diego, also too many beaches to count. Of course, the further south you go, the warmer. La Jolla, Oceanside, lots of good surfing down there, too.
San Diego - Mission Bay is a great family spot, tons of stuff to do, bike paths, etc. Plus there's Old Town San Diego, and the side trips of the San Diego Zoo & San Diego Wild Animal Park, that you actually drive through.
Now I've talked myself into wanting to go, too! I'd love to spend 4 or 5 days in San Diego or Venice Beach!
Beaches Negril, Jamaica

SE VA has some of the ugliest, dirtiest beaches
I've ever seen. Humidity isn't always bad, not nearly like FL. I don't know about WI, but if they have mosquitos like MN does, I'll take humidity any day.
Florida or California beaches
Which ones clearer? Florida as clear as ones in like Jamaica/MExico? What beaches are best for family vacation?
Texas beaches suck.
nm
Agree on TX beaches - not very good.
Crowded, murky and high crime. Would make the drive or flight to FL or Mexico before my short drive to a TX beach.
I'm in Florida 30 years and those beautiful beaches
There are plenty of beaches in S. Florida where they have found over the many years MEDICAL WASTE DUMPING. So, no I don't agree that Florida's beaches are all beautiful..........maybe northeast and northwest in the state but certainly not in south florida......
just my take is all........
How about the beaches at Miami or even Daytona Beach
Talk about crime. It happens EVERYWHERE or do you not know that?
Have you considered Florida? They have some of the most beautiful beaches I have
ever had the pleasure of walking on in the U.S. My son was stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida; he and my DIL lived in Ft. Walton Beach, and I would go there quite often...I immediately fell in love with their beaches..I usually don't like sand but theirs is white and very fine..they don't call it the Emerald Coast for nothing. The people are very friendly and I had the time of my life there. I also love to fish and they have the best seafood. I am a native Californian but I LOVE FLORIDA. They have a very special place in my heart...just an idea for vacation..
If you want clear aqua water and beautiful beaches
or at least they have been in years past, try Cancun. What surprised me was the sand there not hot even with days being in the high 90s or so. Visited other beaches in Mexico as well but Cancun takes the cake. Been to several places in Jamaica but most of the time either Club Med or inclusive resort so mostly used the pools where we stayed. I had the best vacation though ever in my life in Montego Bay, cannot say enough for the fun my children and I had there - would definitely return there. Lots of side trips, just really good times.
MYSTIC SEAPORT, PEABODY MUSEUM, VARIOUS BEACHES sm

I would say 39 is middle age
since average life expectancy is around 78 or so. Doesn't mean I like it :)
I don't know about that...middle age 60-80?
Meaning most people live to like 120-160? WOW! lol I don't know what everyone else is thinking by these replies but I always thought middle age meant the "MIDDLE" of one's lifetime...doesn't it????
Right in the middle of
Carol Burnette on The View. I live in Virgina and am not very concerned about the NY governor. Although I do think he should resign.

So do my folks on the w. coast, and our celeb friend in Tx, its great! Dancing is an art form, and i am intriged by the quickness and methods that these newbies learn the dances, how well they perform them, how their character plays into it, etc. Love it!

there is a post up above for you!
i got caught in the middle
of a redneck area. needless to say, I fled the area and the boyfriend. too much for me. I'm a yankee, and so is he, but he was use to the so called rednecks. I do love the more cosmo parts of south. Can't help it!!
Here in middle Georgia, we are just
happy not to have the 100s. Reasonable now at 76 today. Gosh, fall… oh, yes, that is when the leaves all fall.
In the middle of the CA fires
We definitely need prayers. I am in Thousand Oaks, California, inland between Malibu and fires on the other side - Piru, Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch. Breathing is almost impossible. The first day we were clouded completely in white smoke and ashes everywhere. All the windows have been closed for days, and still I find fine dust and ash all over inside the house. I have been here in this town for 26 years, and have never ever seen winds like these. It is unbelievable. We get a break in the wind, and the sky clears, but just when you think it is over, there is another fire erupting somewhere nearby. So far, no fires in the immediate town, just smoke drifting over to our city. We need prayers. If I am a nervous wreck I can imagine how heartbreaking it is for the people who have lost everything to the fires. They say maybe this will let up tomorrow. I can't image another day of this. The winds are so strong, my yards are destroyed. All the flowers in the beds are down, my vegetable garden is ruined, and there are tree branches all over my roof. This too will pass.
Yep, smack dab in the middle.
Near some joint called Bangor.
My husband took a nap once in the middle of the day
and by 8:00 p.m., his wife, in her early 40s, had died. It was completely unexpected. She was not sick prior to this happening.
That time he was right. I can count a zillion other times when his predictions and dreams were dead wrong.
Nothing with UFOs, sorry. I remain a skeptic.
liar is my middle name
or is it fraudulent, deceitful, duplicitous, or two-faced? I kind of like the sound of two-faced. It's perfect for me.
In the middle of the night?
They'd come in every night, have a noisy destructive party, and leave come dawn. Does the animal control in your area work 24/7? Ours doesn't. We tried blocking all entrances to the basement and they'd dig around it and get in anyway, making it clear they wouldn't take no for an answer. Was I supposed to blast music down my ducts all night, every night? I don't think so, my sleep is more important. IMO its less "cruel" than hunting for "sport". I was protecting my property and my peace of mind. I also have no problem killing bats that get in my house, and trapping smaller animals and relocating them elsewhere. If animals are outside, I don't mess with them. If they come in my house, I have a right to get them out by any means necessary.
If that is middle-class then I have to be
below the poverty level.
middle-aged
The only time the kids are allowed to hang out at my house is on my days off.
If my kids are bored, they do some of the chores I would have otherwise had to do like cooking, cleaning, fixing things around the house, etc.
As far as I am concerned the cure for boredom is WORK and the cure for work is play, in that order. Why should they goof around and eat your food while you bust your tail? Put them to work or send them home.
My son also volunteers for the local museum when he becomes too self-absorbed for anyone to stand him. That snaps him back into shape! and you are right, the dropping/picking up is a giant pain.
And not that it is true, but my son says that the "mall" is where they are hooking up in the dressing rooms, so I don't think I would pick that as an alternative....just me...
I'm in the middle of book now, very good!
I've always liked her and wanted to read more about her and Phil, how they met and all. I can relate in some ways with the alcoholic father. I'm going to try to finish it tonight or over the weekend, at least!
The older I get, the higher *middle age* becomes. lol. nm

I guess I'm middle aged at 55 but
I snow skiied 7 hours in 2 days, plus I'm a certified open water scuba diver. I walk 20 miles a week and I can run rings around my sons who are 30 and 25... Age is just a number!!! susan

wait until middle school!
This is easy-cheesy stuff. In middle school, they get really catty. Glad those years are over. High school has actually been a dream in comparison.
Well, I'm right in the middle, not skinny just healthy
I've never really been skinny, I'm too curvy to ever be skinny, but I'm at a healthy weight (bmi of 21) and very happy with my body. I pretty much eat whatever I want, just know I need to exercise more if I eat high-calorie/high-fat foods. I've been overweight but was miserable and decided to make a change, definitely much happier now.
