All my DH has is a 2-year certificate - sm
from an electronics school from back in 1980. He makes $70K a year....not bad for a 2-year degree/certificate, and that does not include his perks of company car with all gas, insurance, etc. paid by the company, bonuses every now and then (about every 2 years), cell phone, laptop computer, company shirts provided (2 a year), 5 weeks vacation, sick days he had hold and not lose (has about 10-months of sick days), we can sell back 2 weeks of vacation a year (very nice), our great health insurance which we pay only $140 a month for (only recently had to start paying, had it for free for 20+ years) and he works probably about 35 hours a week, not too shabby I think. ---So that said, I guess it all depends on the field you get into. His is rather specialized (obviously). He is not an electrician, though very good with electrical stuff (I am more mechanical so we gel well together). I think your degree is what you make it. Some with only 2-year Associates do great, others no, same with a BA or Masters.
I got a 200.00 gift certificate towards a new sm
pair of glasses. My mother in law kept saying "I hate to give you money. You always use it for bills". So I saw a flyer for eyeglasses and told her to get me a gift certificate there and I could go pick out a new pair of bifocals which I desperately need and never find the cash to go get. I have vision insurance but that only pays some. My glasses usually run around $400.00. I have to get the transitional tinted lenses or I can't see outside in the sun. It's still a bill though, go figure. She made out, though. Got a senior citizens discount, LOL.
I got a gift certificate for a mani, pedi, and
facial. My "other" mother knows if she gives me money I won't spend it on myself. I also got a $300.00 gift card to my father's grocery store. I know that doesn't sound like a lot since he ownes the store, but he has to pay for it. All cards have to be accounted for by their accountant. Can't wait to go to the store and buy a couple of things that I usually won't.
Personally, I would have loved a gift certificate (sm)
That gives you free money to go pick what you want. She can look around and buy a couple of perfect sofa pillows or something she needs for the kitchen, or whatever she wants.
Gift certificate for dining is a great idea!
We've got a large animal vet who comes to us and I give a gift certificate for dinner out for at least 2 people or I give one of those pre-loaded cards for Dunkin' Donuts as he and his tech can be on the road for hours at a time and never get back to the office until the end of the day.  They seem to really like those!
Help, got a amazon gift certificate and I proceeded to check out but cant find where to put in about
the gift certificate number.  Anyone know this.
CONGRATULATIONS! Eileen K-D of Canton, OH just won a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate courtesy

Heck yeah I'd love a gift certificate to Tractor Supply!
I found a really neat gift there for a horse lover thats only $50. It's a (fake) bush that is cut like a horse and has Christmas lights on it. Very cool (at least I thought so!)

Maybe a personalized saddle pad? You could get someone to embroider his name (or his horses name) on it.

Bath and Body Works gift certificate or basket can't go wrong for a girl. sm
i made a basket for my brother one year. i had no clue either, but he seemed to really like it. i did a "night at the movie" theme. filled the basket with snack things since all men i know like to snack, lol. i put in there popcorn, pringles, candy bars, fudge, drinks, gift certificates to Blockbuster, etc. men also like games like checkers, chess, dominoes, poker, etc so maybe a nice poker set or something?
