My cat will not calm down and just let us pet her (sm)
She is about 8 months old now, but even when she was a tiny kitten she was always just kind of rough. She is cute, great personality, but very independent, loves to be outside, and if we try to pet her she sees it as time to play, every time, and plays very rough. Do some cats just have this personality and you can't change it or is there a way to teach them to calm down once in a while and just be petted?

I've been right in your shoes. I know how it feels to be a wreck. First, find a place that will do a free consultation. Call ahead and find out what you need to bring. Some will even do a phone consultation. I feel for you, I really do. It's not the end of the world, I promise. Every office I have had to deal with has been nothing but nice and not judgmental like I was afraid of. In these times, it's happening more and they understand that.
Had to calm down and get some work done
Oh, I went to their bank, twice in face today, once at around 11:45, called the company back to let them know bad check, they said go back at 2, well still the same. After going to swear out warrant (which is running me ragged) and not being able to take care of that today, hubby told me to come home, collect my thoughts and try to work which I have done. Tomorrow morning is my new ceramic class so that will be some therapy for me. Off Friday so will focus on that once again. My acct, by the way, at same bank and if I deposited in mine and no funds there in theirs, mine is charged.

to you is a federal offense, punishable by a LONG TIME in prison. If that happened to me you can bet I would be raising cain, pressing charges and anything else! 2,420? That would be my entire livelihood. I have 3 little mouths to feed and diapers to buy.

One thing I told my now-husband years ago was that I had to have honesty enough to know if he needed something from me that I was not giving, that he was not to go looking elsewhere for something without asking for it at home.
In this day and age, with STDs being they are, there is no excuse for adultery. It's not just thoughtless and hurtful, it's irresponsible with someone's life.
As far as being calm, I'm just not sure temper or tears works in a situation like that. I think many men "turn you off" when you get in that situation and nothing gets heard or accomplished, and something needs to get resolved with you guys PDQ.

We are praying that the tests are fine!!! You're talking only of liver function tests and hepatic profiles, correct? Any further blood tests take awhile to come back, the PCR viral load for example - it's sent, if I remember correctly, as a frozen sample......but that comes later after regular blood work....

I do think you need to talk to him soon, but you are wise to wait and not just attack him with it. Like the poster below said, it is nothing you did, and he is probably confused. It would be great if you two could end up being really good friends after this...I am sure he does love you. He will probably feel awful to know that he has hurt you. They will have to understand that previous plans have been made. It sounds like they really just don't want to have to do quite so much driving on Christmas day and so to spend the night before makes it easier. Either way, they get to wake up with your family on Christmas morning, which will be a wonderful treat for them. I think they will be fine to just stay home - they have chosen not to go with you - that's their choice. It's really not a big deal.

been there, done that - am finished (thank goodness!!)....I was really at my peak of 'tude (attitude, what you called CRAB *lol*) from 42-45 with pre- perimenopause.....it DOES get better once it is all over (does take about 10 years from the very onset to the finish). But are we really *finished*? I guess we are in menopause the rest of our lives even if we are *done* and the 10 years has passed....*lol* But I swear, it DOES get better 
Well I am early morning and evening worker
My body just does better and so I tell myself it is okay. I go strong from 5 to 11, out to deliver, back and then work 1 to 3 at a clinic, back home and then 7 to 9 sometimes later. Before I had the clinic I still took afternoons off as I am not a good producer in the afternoon and so I worked from 6 to 11 and then 6 to 9 or so. But I have my own accounts and can let me body dictate when my productive times are.

My son has asthma. I've learned learned a thing or two about air quality and air pollution.
I don't know if this is why the OP's neighbor is mowing late, but I mow late and yet I get it done before 10 p.m.
Quite frankly, I think some of you all are being a bit sensitive! And just as much as your right to peace and quiet is being infringed upon, you are trying to infringe upon your neighbors rights to do what he wants in his own yard and inside is own house!

Does anyone have any idea where you can find a typing stand like the ones we used for typing class? I'd like one with a ruler or something attached to keep my place on the document. I'm having a really hard time locating this item. Any clues? Thanks!

In front of it is a statue of a woman riding a beast. Sunday dinner
Well, yeah....The boys (23 and 25) come over on Sunday afternoon before they go work to check up on us old folks and eat up our food. They'll come in and help with prep first. We get a lotta laughs in the kitchen.
They've been cooking since about the age of 5 and 7...I didn't have girls and they wanted to be part of the process... sous chefs (cut this, peel that, okay this is how you sautee) ....worked for me and they'll never starve wating for someone else to cook. Cat

Had to share. Friend of mine has two sisters 1 with a 2y/o and a 5 mon. old and the other with a 1 y/o. First one thought she was pregnant again. Second is just a snooty lil'heifer. Anyway she was IMing me about an hour ago. We were talking about her new job and right out of the blue said..."brb phone". Then came back with "my flu infested sister calling to see what I got for VD".
I had a fit and said. "Serious VD? OMG your mom will die. Why drive 80 miles for some medicine, why not go to the doctor...I cannot believe she of all peope has revealed that information."
She cracked up and came back with
"No stupid...Valentines Day!"
Priceless... I would have never gotten Valentines Day from VD...Maybe VD on Valentines Day! Sometimes you've just got to give it a rest! Must get more sleep!

I have bifocals for reading & typing, and although - sm
I'm perfectly fine driving without glasses, I have some driving glasses, which just makes it a little easier to read street signs from distance. It's to correct astigmatism. I could also have gotten trifocals, but someone I knew with them said he had them and never could get used to them. I also chose the bifocals with the line, rather than the lineless ones. There was supposedly a good reason, although I don't remember why!

Sunday walk in the park
DH and I were walking the dogs in a small park yesterday and a reddish bird swooped in front of us. It was the same color as a thrasher, but since he landed on a nearby tree limb I stopped to check. It was a tiny owl. Apparently an Eastern screech owl. They are common yet rarely noticed, so we thought it was really neat. The dogs never reacted to him at all, and the owl seemed as curious about us as we were about him. Our faces were maybe 4 feet from him.

As soon as I get done typing I will put a roast in the oven, prep the veggies and rolls.
We will eat about 445 - 5pm afterwhich the whole family (dogs too) will go down to the river for a walk. When we return home while the kids are showering I will mix a batch of Splenda ChocoChip to throw in the oven so when everyone is cleaned up we can curl up watch a movie (usually disney) with warm cookies and milk. Everyone is usually snug in bed by 9pm except for me. I log on a work for a few more hours.
My DH is a Browns fan. He cries every Sunday.

my DIL and grandson are in flight from Hawaii to LAX to be with her mother, his grandmother in the last few days of her life. Her name is Pat. She lives in Placentia. She is in the hospital right now but wants to come home when they get here. My son also in HI, scheduled to leave within 10-12 days to Iraq but he is having some medical issues. Please pray they will not be of a serious nature. Please pray, he is thinking his men will think he is faking this. It is just all the stress he is under....Thank you in advance
