The southern accent is still alive and thriving in my house, here in GA. My DD works for a call center and just about every customer she gets asks her where she's from because of her southern accent. I have one too, tho I can't hear it...of course! My son also has one, which is more just country than southern. My DH...not so much, don't know why...hmm??
