I don't SAY I'm Christian, I AM Christian. It doesn't matter how many 'pages'
need to be ONE item and I wouldn't shop there. "...people, just like the rest of us...", "these types of attitudes..." hmmm...well, I stand by my convictions, it doesn't mean I'm judging anyone. It's my choice not to shop at stores that sell gay and lesbian related items. Say you're lesbian and your with your partner, and we bumped into each other in the mall, I wouldn't be disrespectful to you, but that doesn't mean that I agree with your lifestyle either.
Lord NO, 28-Yo has own apartment
anger isn't all the time but when it comes up it is very uncomfortable for those around....my husband is the type that doesn't believe in counseling, he thinks they jut want your money and of course he hates Dr. Phil!!! Really he doesn't like to talk about his feelings..
Thank you Lord, I am blessed.
Thank you Lord, I am blessed.
lord have mercy
I am sorry you can't see the more positive aspects of feminism, and there are many.
I went through the "I hate feminism" phase, too. Don't worry. You'll get over it.
I do think that there is a terrible tendency in our culture to sanitize the human-ness out of us, & I think that not even people with bona fide mental illnesses should necessarily have what often is the source of their creativity neutralized pharmacologically, though I'm not sure where you get the idea that feminism is responsible for this practice.
But I also think that I had the right to decide what was right for me, & the freedom to make that decision without worrying about what the feminists or the patriarchy thought about it was a real & true sense of evolution past political rhetoric. I am glad I could salvage most of the past 1-1/2 years because of some person's ingenuity, period. I'm not even entirely certain that the inventor of my drug was male.
As far as men being stripped of their masculinity, I think that feminism itself, like the people who undertook it as a philosophy, had its own pendulum swing. The idea that women had to be "like men" in order to be successful or real or whole or correct or whatever -- was just another propagation of the patriarchy--but it was undeniable that men had social and cultural power & women felt they deserved that, & controlling wealth seemed like the most obvious way to achieve this at the time. And men did have, initially anyway, to let go of some power -- the biggest part of this being their definition of power as "power over" -- & substitution of this concept with the idea of empowerment-- as well as accepting the fact that women as intellectual equals were here to stay. This was very tough for some men, & if they felt emasculated by it, well, I think it was part of their process. Hopefully they will evolve to understand that you don't have to have "power over" to have "power." That is the best thing, I think, that feminism has contributed.
To be sure, the movement had a wobbly infancy, but things have come a long way, baby.
DId he get into the Lord of the Rings movie? That
set would be nice if he did.
the Lord John Gray books
I read the first one but haven't read the 2 that she published this year (waiting for the paperback versions). It wasn't as good as Outlanders but still pretty decent. Mainly a mystery that I had a hard time following at first with a bit of LJG's (ahem) personal charateristics thrown in, if you know what I mean.
Curious about your objection to Lord of the Rings...
... not going to try to talk you out of it (since there's really no accounting for taste, likes or dislikes) but I'm curious whether you dislike it (a) because you don't care for the story, or (b) because the movie(s) did not meet your expectations.
Having grown up in the 60s, if you hadn't read the thing, you had NO possibility of being cool back then. I finally slogged my way clear through the trilogy for the first time in about 1969, I think it was. I re-read it after the first movie came out, and oddly enough, it was a lot easier to get through at the age of forty-harumph than at the age of 13. Go figure.
Keeping in mind it was written many, many decades ago, in a completely different style than modern readers might be used to, I still thought it was a good story. And I thought the movies were really quite good, visually stunning, and well-done. The only sour note in my experience was that I thought Aragorn was much older than Viggo Mortensen, but I could have been wrong.... Oh, and the balrog looked like something out of a Disney cartoon to me; not NEARLY scary enough. :)
Good Lord...this would have scared me to death (sm)
Not gonna say what state I am in but the patient went in for surgery on his kidneys and was mistaken for a neurosurgery patient and had his head shaved before they realized he was the wrong guy...he cancelled his kidney surgery and went the heck home! Poor guy!!
oh good lord! what next! people just LOVE and LIVE to -sm
gossip and start vicious rumors! At this point, who cares! The woman is deceased and her poor daughter has to face a lifetime of continuing vicious gossips and rumors. Gossip mongers need to find something better to do!!!
Uh--"Feeding America Event"? Lord have mercy! nm
.....
I've been running around all day - heard a bit on the radio, but 9 DEAD? Oh goodness. Lord,
help those families right now, God. And that entire city. I used to live there. Can't recall that mall, though. I used to go to 2. If anyone is in that area, I used to live in Bellevue (the Air Force Base there). Where was this mall in Omaha? thanks for any info.
I did. I leave all judgments up to the Lord, I take his golden rule to "love thy neighbor as the
to be the supreme rule, try to live by it always. I do not have to condemn, or judge in any way, Jesus is the supreme judge, what is wrong with extending earthly concern, friendhip, and love? Sometimes that works oh so much better when trying to "enlighten' someone than judgment, or hate, or harshness. That is all.
Any to think they can save us also-
There was a rescue dog who had the boy scout's scent and sniffed him out today. That dog is really in his prime now, smiling for all the cameras. So happy - see how they can turn out to be out bestest friends!!
It actually does save me a lot - sm
I make enough to almost fill two five gallon buckets and those two buckets will last me about 6 months.
House full of teens, one of them who is very sensitive to a lot of perfumes in different detergents.
My own home made laundry soap seems to get the clothes a lot cleaner too.
It took awhile to get used to not seeing the soapy suds as you do with other laundry soap tho.
how do you save
I know that it sounds like a stupid question, duh, don't spend it. But how do you get over feeling sorry for yourself when you have plenty of money, but you tell yourself no, or you dole small treats out to yourself, but it make you feel worse because you did not stick to your goal? I am chasing my tail!
another great way to save
The extra money towards the principal is a great thing to do, especially when planning on being in the same home for a long time. Some companies also offer a program where payments are made bi-monthly, with the first one being made two weeks ahead of the due date, which also winds up with a lot of interest savings over time.
My best way to save -- my mom and I share
the "club card" for our local grocery store (we only have 1 in our little town). We accumulate the points together and usually qualify for the higher percentage off when it's time to cash in (20% off 1 bill rather than 5%). Then we pick a day we can go together and ring our order up together. Of course we use our coupons, too. We just went 2 weeks ago and qualified for 15% off our total bill. Before coupons/discounts, our total grocery bill was $550 but after our discounts, it was only $283. We saved almost $200 ---- unbelievable but true.
Before dining out, I check the website of the restaurant we're going to for coupons. They usually offer a free appetizer and that helps to fill us up so we can order smaller meals. We have 3 kids and my 2 younger kids share a kids' meal since they can never eat a whole one themselves. I also like to order water -- that always cuts about $5 off the bill.
Remember -- if you donate clothes to Good Will/Salvation Army, it's a deductible dontation, so keep track.
No way would that save me money --
we'd end up divorced and that's more expensive than a haircut!! LOL!!!
PS: It might save her life, too.
I once had a landlord who, when his son was in high school, bought the son the kind of car he wished HE'D had as a teen - a fast, racy, brand-new muscle-car. Then one day, with a bunch of friends in the car, he was showing off, going too fast in it (as people in muscle cars have a tendency to want to do), and wrapped it around a telephone pole.
Incredibly, all survived with only minor to moderate injuries. The car was totalled, as was the telephone pole.
Not only did the kid learn his lesson, the dad did, too. No more car. If the son wanted one, he had to get a job and buy his own. The kid spent the rest of his high-school career car-less. He bought a used bike, and rode it a lot. But they lived up in the hills where there were big fancy houses, but no bus service, so he had to rely on friends all the time. If he went on a date, he had to take the bus or go with friends.
When he finally had the money for a car (roughly his 2nd semester in junior college), the one he bought was old and beat up, but he treated it like it was an expensive new car, and from what I hear, hasn't had so much as a parking ticket since.
Ways we save
My husband has a 401K plan and we also have mutual funds. I had a very large retirement plan with my previous employer that we rolled over and invested. We're definitely not touching any of it, but it's nice to know if we got into a huge bind we'd have the money available.
let me save you some money
You are so smart and brave, and it is just amazing that at this point in your life you would strike out on your own with two children. You are amazing. You are right though about the boy. It is going to take every ounce of strength you have to keep him in line......so he doesn't turn out like his dad.......
Maybe Jacob will save Locke.

Suggestion - save your money (sm)
Unless you need the Tylenol for pain, the only other ingredient in TPM is diphenhydramine for the sleep part. You can either use Benadryl or the generic - costs a lot less, same ingredient.
Mighty Mouse - Here I come to Save the Day!!
SAVE ON HEATING BILL!
A friend told me about these and my husband brought an article home today. They are Heat Surge Fireless Flame miracle heaters produced by the Amish. I will try to attach the link to the web site so you can check them out....don't panic at the price! You can order the mantle right now for $298 and get a FREE heater (normally around $600 together) The mantle (which goes around the heater) is solid wood. Right now you can order 2 per household. Click on the link that says "do not have claim code" to see where in the country you are and get the phone#. You only have 48 hours to order, and mine started yesterday.
I sure hope he wanted me to order one, cuz I did!! We already have a wood stove but this will help me not have to get up to put wood in it all night long to keep it going since I have not turned on my house heater in 3 years and refuse to!!!!
Been tempted to just to save the money- sm
but I use it to unwind at night before I go to bed. I just limit their TV time, hour in the morning, then 1-2 hours at night after dinner, off during the day. I do plan on giving them spelling lists over the summer as for some freaky reason my one daughter (5th) grade really did no spelling this year, about 2 months and that was a joke, they would give them 3 written words on a test and have them pick the one which was spelled right. Luckily she is an excellent speller and it really has not effected her but going to reinforce her skills over the summer. She loves to write so have suggested to her that she started making a collection of short stories, she started a couple days ago on her first one. Basically just going to have them play outside as much as possible and limit the TV, computer and video game time...that way they don't become slugs and get fat. Just need to figure out how I am going to deal with work as I have more now than I did last year, guess it is time to get up early though I like to sleep in in the summer, the price we pay to stay home!
This is a great idea - save your hearing
for work. (The electric ones are much quieter).
Since you have a slope, it matters whether it's rear-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. One of them will give you trouble, but I can't remember which. Salesman told DH.
I'd tell him to save HIS money for a divorce lawyer sm
He seems kind of rude to me. No way my hubby would dictate to me like that. He knows I would show him the door
Save your money, other ways better spent

I think she is hoping to help save his political career so (sm)
she tries to appear supportive - for future money for herself probably. To keep him from going completely down the tubes so he can support his children. Won't work in this case I'm sure though. But it also could be that they feel sorry for the guy...I mean not only does he have to deal with his betrayed wife, he has to face the entire country and lose his career. He's probably near suicidal. I would probably have to feel sorry for my husband if he were in those circumstances, just a a basic human compassion.
I use rechargable batteries and save a lot of money.

This is the smart way to save - it is called "paying yourself first" and sm
is endorsed by Suzy Orman, Dave Ramsey and other financial planners. If you save it b/f you see it, you're much more likely to leave it alone.
Personally I've been debt-free (including my home) for 7 years and have never felt better. I don't understand people who have the urge to buy things they do not need (like the poster who said they had jackets coming from QVC today - why?).
This makes me want to have more babies and save their stem cells. sm
But, I'm confused. Is America not doing any stem cell transplants? Is that why she had to go to China? I wonder how credible this story really is. I have family in the Joplin area. I hate to be a skeptic, but I really wonder if this is true.
Save your money - just buy generic Benadryl (same ingredient) unless you have pain.
nm
And being Christian,
it's okay to try and take a cheap shot at me? Hmm...yourself.
You would see me with my husband for your info.
You just still do not get it. Wasting my breath.
what i have to put up with as a Christian
I cannot pray in public. My children cannot pray in school. Basically I can never mention God in any conversation w/o being called a fanatic like I am some kind of third world kook ready to strap on a bomb. My children and I can hardly watch TV anymore because of the language or sexual content. Even most commercials are to explicit for my young ones to see. I cant even hardly watch the news anymore w/o screening it first. I cant go to a store or a public place with my kids w/o them being exposed to half dressed women/men. Sometimes we get to be exposed to men dressed as women or vice versa. I cant go to the movie store with my kids and browse through the selections w/o seeing many, many movies with lesbians or gay men on the cover of the movie boxes, lying in bed half naked. So, this is what I have to be exposed to daily and this is what my INNOCENT children have to be exposed to daily. Dont tell me I am not tolerant.
A bit harsh. For me, I am Christian, and though I don't
think you should live the way you think is right. In the end, truth will prevail. As a Christian, I will pray for you just as I do others.
Now Tinks, you should know better than that as a Christian. sm
I, too, am a Christian, but I don't think it was very kind of you to tell her "you are not as selfless as you want everyone to think." That was mean.
Remember what Christ said? He said to season our words with love and be gentle and kind. You can post Scripture all day long but until you model gentleness and kindness I doubt many will listen.
From one sister to another....
Prayers for you - I am a Christian and I truly believe (sm)
that she is with God. A person as good as she was certainly does not go for eternity anywhere other than in God's presence. I believe this with my whole heart, and I hope that you can too. Don't even think about the doctors' part in her death. Just think of it as God wanted her home, and so he took her.
Christian Dior
I love their lipsticks and lip glosses also. I like the darker shades like shades of brown or pinks for summer. they have pretty good staying power. a bit expensive though but worth it!
wow that's mighty christian of you
you people remind me again and again of why i'm not...
Dr. Christian Troy
No, I haven't heard his Australian accent. In fact, it was only recently that I learned that he's an Aussie! I have no idea how they do that. Joley Richardson does, too. I think that's why she speaks so slowly.
The season finale only left me wanting more, as per usual. It's really dark, but so "out there!" I just wish they'd do more shows!
Dr. Christian Troy
Oh, so smokin' hot!
Oh believe me, I know what a pushy Christian is you see,
I am a pastor's wife and I see them every day, and mostly in church on Sundays. You know the people who care about what other people think and who forget about what God thinks. You know, those types.
way to go you christian jerks
I'm Christian and it really irks me to see that he was being harassed by Christians because he doesn't believe in God. That is not a description of true faith by any means. Those soldiers destroyed their witness to him and that in itself is a sin... this man will never come to faith if he continues to be treated like this. I wouldn't want to either if I were him.
am a Christian, but it is really a tradition
of man; the Bible doesn't tell us when Christ was really born, and doesn't authorize Christmas as a Christian holiday, tho it still has a religious flavor, it is certainly not a religious holiday in the strict sense.
Please read "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker. It can save your life. NM

There were both secular and christian surveys done and they
all came out to be about the same result. Next, you'll ask me for proof. When I have a few spare minutes I'll try to find the links. In the meantime, you can search the net and likely find them.
See my answer, Teresa, below and you will see about the Christian
thing. You never really know another person. I would have never thought my father would molest his own flesh and blood but it happened and yet he was a very "Christian" man to the others in his community. Sounds like the people in the neighborhood when one of their neighbors murders someone and they say "well he was the nicest man, never would have thought he would have done this, quiet, kept to himself" - yeh right.
The Christian community has always thought they were better than everyone else.
Religion has often been the catalyst of wars...hence the one we are in now.
