Of course they should pay taxes. Whoever owns the building/land should have to pay just like any other citizen. I thought money collected in church services was supposed to help with that (at least thats what it did when I was growing up). We gave so the church could keep operating. Our minister had a decent home to live in (just like all the rest of us) and drove a used car which was in need of repair from time to time (just like the rest of us). People like Pat Robertson, James Baker, Oral Roberts, and the like we did not even hear about (could be because we only had 12 TV channels and there nothing called a remote control back then HA HA). Some of you must remember those days (when TV's had tubes in the back - to this day if something goes wrong with our TV I will tell my DH that a tube must have gone out. HA HA - We get a good laugh) Today churches are a business. I watched a special on TV once about a pastor who went to the Oral Roberts University and was a minister and that's basically what he was saying. So churches should be charged whatever else the other local businesses in the area have to pay.
