I don't see how offering your baby superior food is primative.

Also, families chose to breast feed for many reasons. I breast fed both of my children and we did not have bottles in the house. Why would we? Besides being healthy, breastfeeding is convenient. If i didn't have to wash bottles, store breast milk, transport (and keep cool) the milk, and then find some way to warm it, why would I. The breast is ready, at the right temperature, in the right amount, with no waste or clean-up.

I can't believe someone would find breastfeeding "primative". Maybe the actual making of babies is primative and we should stick to test tubes :-)
Bottles again
Again, she said it was primative to breastfeed a baby out of the house. I disagree. I don't see anything "primative" about feeding a baby no matter where or how I do it. God gave me breasts that make milk so I can feed my babies. Bottles are not necessary, and as I said, I would not go to the trouble to lug bottles around, use a pump, etc, just because someone has a hangup.
Life summarised in 4 bottles.

If you like something light and flowery try Beautiful by American Beauty. Kohl's carries it. Smells wonderful. I also like Red Door but that is stronger, as well as I hate to say it but its Britney Spears perfume Curious.

I have two.  Armani for women and Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan.

First off -- Angels have wings and could

have flown themselves there.  Secondly, if they could affrod a motel, they can afford a taxi.  Thirdly, why didn't they ask directions at the motel?  Why take the chance of not finding someone who could help them when the concierge desk would have the information readily available, would probably have called the taxi for them, and possibly may have had a shuttle service available to take them.

You definitely did the right thing.  I'd be more worried about seeing someone else on the news who did give them a ride and ended up dead, rather than feeling guilty.

my most favorite perfume ever!
and i love it!

Thanks so much!
Angels passed by our home
only 2 months ago and my dad took his heavenly flight.

Only a God-called grandmother could love you as she did. The only way your grandmother could have ever share such love for you was first being loved by God. Paradise is her home!

My dad had COPD and was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2006 and sent home with hospice with 6 months to live. He passed away in less than 2 months.

He asked hospice to please not let him "smother to death." His last 2 weeks were exactly as you described. I had difficulty watching as he was administered morphine and Ativan because I knew the morphine would suppress his respiratory system even more. He was on oxygen but struggled with every breath. He began to conserve all his energy just to breathe. He was alert but spoke very little. He was given only water via sponge and all medications were stopped the week of his passing. My family and I were by his bedside the entire time, and every day he became more weaker. He asked that we pray that the Lord would come soon, and all this time I'm trying to convince my family that we needed to take a more aggressive approach (IV fluids and blood transfusion). Early morning on the day of his death he became unconscious. There was the most precious, sweet comfort and peace felt by everyone in the room at the exact moment my dad drew his last struggling breath and took his heavenly flight.

As 2 months have now passed, I realize the care he received was appropriate, and hospice was loving and caring. I just wasn't ready to "let my dad go."

May you feel God's presence in the sweet memory of your grandmother. Grandmothers are earthly angels from God.
Aw...poor little angels! And you tried so hard...nm

I don't believe they were angels. Sounds strange to me.

Curious about perfume/cologne.
I want to buy myself a b-day present, new perfume.  I need ideas on some light flowery summery ones, nothing heavy.  What's your favorite?
So, what's your favorite perfume today?. ..sm

The original Burberry for me.  Cat

Lily of the Valley perfume...
I forget who makes it, it's a cheap brand and kinda cheezy but my mom always wore it and it reminds me of her and springtime and is my absolute favorite.  I always put a spritz or two on when I'm feeling down and it's an instant pick me up.

Snow angels!...Sledding, skiboarding! Enjoy! nm

Perfume samples/trial sizes

I'd like to be able to buy some trial/samples of various perfumes.  I've found a few random ones, even free ones, but I'd like to be able to try some of the expensive brands by just purchasing those small samples or trial sizes.  So far I haven't found a very large selection of these websites and the ones I have found only had a few fragrances from which to choose.  Anyone know where I can go to buy these for a decent price?

Thanks.

glass
You can find them alot of places. Crafts stores carry them, Wal-Mart, and any store that pretty much has a craft section. Check them out.
For me, there is nothing like a glass
or two of merlot after a hard day at work to relax!
Hayseed how do you crop your pics? I'd like to add to the collection of animal angels here.
Or can I send you mine and you'll do it for me, pretty please?
My favorite perfume is Eternity by Calvin Klein - nm

Painting on glass surfaces
Ok, here is my problem. I bought a beautiful set of China in a magnolia pattern, stunning, for little of nothing. I then was able to get some platters, 4 bowls, salt and pepper and the like from a replacement China company but no where can I find a gravy boat. I have been looking for about 2 months. This is what I had thought of and perhaps someone out there has done this. I have a white gravy boat that I had thought of buying paint to decorate the outside some to make it blend in with my set that I will be using Christmas. Has anyone done any China painting like this or just painting on dishes and what kind of paint would I get. I do not want to have to finish with processing it afterwards, just a 1 stop painting and drying deal. Thanks.
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
Water  or Coke?
Could  not believe this.....  Very interesting

WATER

#1.  75%  of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely  applies to half the world population.)

#2.  In  37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is  mistaken for hunger.

#3.  Even  MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4.  One  glass of water will shut down midnight  hunger pangs
for  almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington  study.

#5.  Lack  of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6.   Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water  a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to  80% of sufferers.

#7.  A  mere 2% drop in body  water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8.   Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%,  plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer
by 79%., and one is  50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the  amount of water
you should drink every day?

COKE

#1.    In  many states the highway patrol carries
two  gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway  after a car accident.

#2.  You  can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone  in two days.

#3.   To  clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet  bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour,
then  flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from  vitreous china.

#4.  To  remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub  the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in  Coca-Cola.

#5.  To  clean corrosion from car  battery terminals: Pour
a can  of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6.  To  loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the  rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7.  To  bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the  baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty  minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the
drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8...  To  remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into  the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a  regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains.  It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR  YOUR INFORMATION:

#1.  the  active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve  a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid
also leaches calcium  from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase  of osteoporosis.

#2.  To  carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks  must use a hazardous  Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive  materials.

#3.     The  distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of  the trucks for about 20 years!

Now  the question is, would you like a glass of water?

Give a sniff at the perfume counter! :) Laura Ashley's #1 is nice. nm

With those big leaded-glass windows the builders put
in, it's kind of hard to hide when the lights are on inside and you are in the LR. If I'm in my office and DH isn't in the LR either, I just peak out to see who it is. I may have to replace that dumb front door, but the window in the door is the only window in the living room. Stoopid builders.
How do you get stuff off glass stove tops? SM

I have tried the white creamy stuff from Sears, where I purchased stove. That doesn't get everything off.  One site suggested a straight razor, but since I type for a living, I am reluctant to use one (except when shaving legs!).

Any tips? Please? Thank you.

Oh, Miss Perfect, people in glass houses
It sounds to me like her daughter turned out just fine. I'm sure there are a lot of skeletons in your Christian closet so should keep hypocritical mouth shut, I'd say.
I love my electric ceramic/glass cook top, but
you have to clean the darn thing and keep it clean!!! Its not as hard as taking the electric coils out of the old one and cleaning it. You can turn it off for the last 5-10 minutes of your cooking and it will still be hot just as hot and cut electricity that way!!! DO A LOT OF COOKING IN A SLOW COOKER.... you can even bake in a slow cooker. it costs 2 cents an hour!!!! The oven can cost up to $5 depending on what kind you have!!!
Split up what you have and stagger the pieces, play with it, add some glass, and/or start
s
Awww...scoop it up with a glass and a piece of paper and place
s
..:) Depression glass, cut crystal, candle sticks, figurines. Strings of twinkie lights

I miss college and Carnation Instant Breakfast in a nice tall glass of ice cold milk.

That's weird.
That portion of the toolbar says at the bottom of the left sidebar when I scroll up and down. Good luck!
Boy, they can just HAVE that weird,
.
no, thats weird, unless
like our daughter, whose husband just installed a new stove -- he didn't know about changing the orifices and had it set for natural gas instead of propane -- they didn't know it but they were gassing themselves a few days.
is it so weird?
People who are under stress are likely to do anything - whether it be physical or emotional or mental stress. If the auditors didn't catch the error for so long then I say shame on the foundation - this woman was obviously very ill.
Not weird but
I just started collected Willow Tree angels.  They're precious.  I believe in angels.  Right after my sister passed away I was wandering through a store and out of the blue a woman asked me my opinion on a pillow - it had angels on it!  I took it as a sign that my sister was telling me she was okay and was now my angel!  I had goosebumps at the time.
That is so weird (sm)
Because if you're where I think you are from your signature, just up the highway they've had those avalanches, and here in Seeley we're snowing as I type, and have had at least two feet of white stuff in the last two weeks....of course, it did rain last night a bit before snowed again, and the same the other day. But still.....weird weather we're having, huh....and even read that where you are, you have less than normal snowfall, and it's "dry snow" ....so if they tell us come summer and fire season that this snow didn't count for anything, I'm gonna be reallllyyyyy po'd....lol.....anyhoo, keep dry.......
Not weird at all - sm
I think that definitely has something to do with his behavior.  I often jokingly use that as a defense to friends/family when we're out and he starts acting up.  We do try to do one-on-one things with each of our kids and will continue to do it.  He just requires a little more one-on-one.  Thanks for your post.
How weird is this?
My husband and I were just talking about that dweeb, Billy Mays, too!     He gets on my nerves so bad.  I cannot stand that dude.
Weird...
I don't practice feng shui yet but plan on learning...

I was looking at apartments to rent and walked into one (after looking at several) that just felt like 'home.' I couldn't explain it, but the feeling of peace, harmony and happiness just filled the apartment (occupied by a single nurse and her very large, very fluffy kitty).

I snapped the apartment up not only because it was beautiful but because of the incredibly positive energy the apartment exuded.

When I was signing the lease, I was explaining to the manager how good I felt about the place. She said, "I think maybe there's something to that feng shui the woman who lives there now does."

YEAH, DEFINITELY!!!!!!
no not weird,
i never was much good at the sewing part, but i do my own cleaning, make most my meals from scratch, and have made my own butter, enjoyed the simplicity in the past of a wringer washer...i think all the conveniences and hired services sometimes make for more stress, not less. there is a satisfaction to be had there, and it is the biblical way, in my opinion...carry on!! but by the same token, those who hire out help and use all the conveniences are not weird either...
No, definitely not weird...
I don't mind cooking and cleaning but some days with working and taking care of 2 little ones, it would be nice to just pay someone to do it...if we didn't have the money to do it though obviously it would not even be a consideration...believe me, we have money to have a maid come in once a week but my husband says no, so guess who does it??? me
that's really weird. Even Mom and Dad?
They probably suffer from dementia. Brother, also?
Don't be sad about the others.
I would mention it only to your parents, brother and boyfriend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

and many more to come!
This may sound a bit weird., but /sm
I read your post and got to thinking about when I lived in a really large house and kept missing the knocks at the front door. I got myself one of those wireless doorbells, and would take the "bell" part from room to room with me when I was expecting a delivery... I wonder if you could take the part that usually screws onto the door frame and put it on a necklace or something for you mother to wear and "ring the doorbell" when she needs help, and then take the "bell" part from room to room. Actually mine was loud enough I didn't need to pick it up and move it unless I was going upstairs. They might even sell them with 2 or more receivers (what I call "bells") so you could hear it ring on whatever floor you are on.

Good luck. I took care of my uncle when he had lung cancer and we rigged up a baby monitor for him, but he was in a 1-story house and I could hear him except at night time, so I can empathize.
Yeah, its so weird
I can only lose weight doing low carbs too. I have done Weight Watchers and even staying in the points doesn't do any good if I am including too many carbs in there.
3 weird dogs
We have 3 dogs, one large, two small. The big dog is weird - he hides when he sees flashlight beams or hears electronic tones (like when the cell phone blows up) and it is so bad that he will knock over furniture trying to find a hiding place where he hunkers down and shakes and his paws sweat, so I guess these things really scare him. It is funny because he is huge and fearless most of the time.

The male small dog eats tomatoes right off the vine from the garden and likes to lick cast iron (antique sewing machine legs and a candle holder on my fireplace). He will lick these for hours. He eats great expensive food and takes vitamins too. So why???

The small female dog is a crack-up. She is one now and still acts like a puppy and carries her toys everywhere. She will for no reason run in small circles and then lie down flat on her stomach with her legs stretched out like superman flying. She sleeps lying on her back on a pillow like people do and snores like a freight train.

I guess you can tell that I love dogs! They are weird, but they are my babies.
