Not road rage, but cell phone rage

Is anyone out there annoyed as much as I am with the dictators using these cell phones right where they are dictating and going off right in your ears???? Some are put so close as to interfere with the dictation equipment and thus the screech comes on. Unbearable....

road rage sm
I can agree NCMT, same thing happened to us on New Years Eve one time, screamed my head off, not a cop around and went through two states. I will never forget it. I don't speak of it often as I didn't think anyone would believe me! No cell phones then, that's why they are useful, although I am not sure how fast they would come, but it sure makes you feel better. Thanks for sharing.
WalMart Rage
I have a thought! We could sell tickets to the shopping "encounters" and make a bundle! That way, we could all afford to shop wherever we want for whatever we want when this is all over.
Actually, I don't really think this is restricted to just Christmas season - I have had some nuts "accost" me at other stores too, especially Costco, during all the seasons. The most annoying and aggresive was an old man (looked in his late 70s) who wanted my space in line and kept "ramming" my basket trying to cut into line. He had already tried it on two other people and "lost" out in another line - I had been watching him. My husband told me to let him go in front of us and suddenly a light came on in my head and I lost it. I turned around and asked him if he was crazy or just rude. Then, a man behind me told me to "comeon, just let him go" and then I REALLY lost it. I told the crazy guy to keep it up and I would call the police on him for battery. He just looked at me and looked at me. I don't know about you guys, but sometimes enough is enough. I am old now and tired and so sick of people like him. Why should I "keep the peace" at my own expense when that is exactly what most of the people like him expect? Besides, it was "empowering" to tell him to bug off. I don't look for trouble, but I don't have to be a doormat either and I don't intend to. Maybe one of those people that were taken away to the hospital were like me. Hope that doesn't happen to me too, but hey you never know. From now on I do not ever intend to be intimidated by rude mean people again. Even if they punch me! I will fight back. Guess it wouldn't hurt to make sure that I have something substantial in my basket to use just in case he is bigger than me?
Why didn't someone call security before the problem got out of control?
Where we live sometimes there is WalMart rage out in the parking lot too over spaces! Yet another reason to never go there! I guess we should shop where they have the most security to keep you safe from the other customers.
highway rage sm
I guess a guy got cut off further back on the highway by another, so the guy takes out a baseball bat, and repeatedly bangs the other guy's passenger window with the bat. No cops around, and no cell phone available; scared me to death. Don't know who had control of the baseball bat guy's wheel, but it was unbelievable. Just changed lanes quickly and kept on going. Too nuts to deal with, or is that two nuts?
You are still full of rage.
Shut up, you say? Tell it to yourself and then, see professional help. A pastor would be a good place to start. Many of them dedicate their ministries beyond the pulpit to domestic violence and abuse. For those who do not feel at home in a church, they have many resources to sliding scale social services, often some of which are free of charge.
It was probably 'Wal-Mart rage'.... which is sort of like - sm
I won't go near a WalMart this time of year, or on weekends. Doesn't matter how good my frame of mind was when I went in, by the time I've had to spend any length of time in there with all the rude shoppers, clueless employees who can't answer any questions, (that's IF they speak English at all), it starts to wear thin. The toy department has to be avoided at all costs - filled with a large percentage of our state's illegal immigrants and their out-of-control, shrieking, runny-nosed children. Ackkkk!!! And finally, what comes close to sending me over the edge every time, is the checkout line. Doesn't matter how 'short' the one you get into is... it will be the line where you've got either a trainee cashier or a malfunctioning cash register, or BOTH. The infants in front and back of you will start screaming in stereo and dangerously high on the decibel level. The kid behind you starts banging your knees with the shopping cart, or else someone elbows their way ahead of you and everyone else without asking because they have 'just one item'. But of course, the reality of it is that they have 7 or 8 items, but by then it's too late.
One time I stood there and watched a small boy (but old enough to know better!) carefully taking packages of Mentos candy out out of the rack, opening them and taking out ONE candy to eat, then putting them back in the rack and grabbing another one. Eventually he'd eaten more than a package's worth of Mentos. The mom could see him and never made a move to stop him. Apalling.
I love the bargains at Wal-Mart, and always find cute clothes there, but will only go during normal working hours during the day.
Although an injury-producing fight in the checkout line isn't good, like another poster said, it's fortunate no one was shot or stabbed (depending on the demographic, of course). If I look at my fellow shoppers' faces in line, it's easy to see that like me, they're at the end of their rope, and that rope is pretty frayed. So I can easily imagine such a fray happening, and am surprised it doesn't actually happen more often and with more violent results.
its acceptable, unlike drunken stupor, roid rage, amphetamine rush, which are

I had it on my cell phone too! lol

How many of you use only a cell phone? sm
We're going totally wireless in our house next week after our alarm company converts our system to a radio one. The cell companies in our area have finally gotten the offers down to where it's cheaper to go cellular exclusively than pay a cell and regular phone bill. What about you?
cell phone
My family and I (husband and two teenagers) all have our own cell phones. In a dire emergency of no power, our car will accommodate an attachable adaptor for the cell phones to recharge. It made things simpler, and no extra added bill from a phone company. It has been this way for over three years now.
cell phone
I have 4 phones on my bill. We pay $9.00/month extra for unlimited texting for my son, otherwise our bill would probably be that high. Our bill with 4 phones and extra for the texting is $90.
What is your cell phone co.? I'm shopping around sm
Our family uses TracFone. My daughter is trying to convince me to go to something different. I need to keep costs down, but would like any info on something that includes texting and some free anytime calls. What are your experiences and what does it cost you a month for a family plan? Thanks.
Cell phone arguments
I was in line behind a woman who was talking to her child on her cell phone. She said she would be home about 10 minutes, could she talk to Daddy? Daddy got on the phone and she proceeded to rip him a new one rather loudly in a matter of seconds. Really see no need to air that kind of thing in public.
Are you sure it was him? Does someone else have access to the cell phone?
.
it is awfully peculiar that he used your cell phone..sm
No offense, but he either purposely wanted you to see this or is extremely moronic. I think you deserve better. That is not what someone does to their significant other if they truly love them.
Close down the cell phone
I bought a cell phone from Radio Shack. It's pay as you go. I'd play innocent to him and say...oh no, someone must have gotten a hold of our phone number because there is over $150 of charges to some phone sex place. Then tell him your going to the police to fill out a fraud report. If he then admits to it you should tell him that if he wants to do that (call sex places) fine, but he should respect you enough to tell you about it. Then I'd have a serious conversation about our future together and then tell him if he wants to continue to buy his own cell phone with pay as you go and he can work the extra hours to pay for the bill.
Cell phone as a modem
I'm moving and won't have a home phone with DSL for a month so I'm about to buy a Blackberry Pearl so I can use it as a modem and tether it to my laptop for downloading sound files and then uploading my work. I've about gone insane in the details so I'm looking for anyone who has done this and can confirm for me that it works.
My cell phone provider has told me this will work.
Can anyone recommend a cell phone - sm
plan, one number, two phones if that exists, or a 2-phone plan, 2 numbers? That is not outrageous in cost. Thinking of eliminating home phone at $65 a month just for the line, extended local calling and unlimited LD, just keeps going up, was $50 a few years ago. In a rural area so really don't have any choices out here. So figured we could get a plan with 2 phones, one for me, one for my husband, just don't know how that works. Did a little looking on line and cheapest I could find was about $70 a month, which obviously is not what I am looking for. Prefer to find something for $40-$50 a month, may 500 minutes unlimited calling at all times a month, don't need much as we are not on the phone that much. Just had Verizon put a tracer on the home phone so I can track how much LD we actually use and if it would be more feasible to just go back to a pay-by-min plan and ixney the unlimited LD. I think we can save a lot that way. Probaby have to give up the caller ID but so be it. We may be able to get away with a 1 phone plan as my DH has a company cell phone for which I could call him on if he was at home and I was at work. Just cancelled my 2nd line as I was not using it much anymore for work so that will save us $30 a month right there. Just trying to pince a few pennies here and there.
I still pay for my daughter's (20) cell phone,
however she pays for texting. She also makes her own car payment and pays her insurance (she is on my policy). SHe is a full time college student only working part-time, so she does not pay rent.
I HATE CELL PHONE USAGE TOO....sm
the bane of the world - that fricken fracken cell phone - one day I had to listen to a stranger describing the bowel habits of his dog....HATE THIS GADGET........
DH has Garmin mobile on his cell phone - sm
In my opinion, this is the best service he has ever gotten. We had the Garmin on going through Atlanta at 7:30 a.m. (traffic nightmare), and the Garmin got us through in record time by avoiding the crowded areas. It took us a little while to figure out the lady's voice was saying "follow route" and not "turn around" and to figure out she was saying "recalculating" when we over-shot our exits (which is really great about this service...it follows you around and corrects when you screw up).
withheld cell phone calls
my son keeps getting crank calls on his cell phone all the time. I called ATT and they say there is no way to tell who it is. How can I find out. I know it has to be one of his friends. Now he is actually getting weird messages. Any ideas?? Thanks
reverse cell phone look up service -- sm
but you have to pay to find out. It is possible though and if it is such a nuisance, it would be worth the meeger cost to put an end to it.
Thank you for the offer. I don't have a cell phone contract, i do the pay as you go. sm
i have ATT go phone stuff. Thank you though.
I use Tracfone but have heard of cell phone - sm
bills being quite high due to texting. If your plan does not cover that, and your kid or whoever has the third phone on your plan is texting up a storm, you are being charged for each and ever text he/she sends, who knows maybe on the received texts too, call your provider and ask why it is so high, then either find out if you can cancel the texting ability or take the phone away from the guilty party. ---make them pay for the overage too.
How to cancel cell phone service
Hope somebody can help with this. I want to cancel cell phone service (contract expired, and I simply don't use it enough). Have AT&T/Cingular and was trying to find a way to cancel on line. Does anybody know the magic trick? Of course I realize they are going to make it as difficult as possible. Just want to avoid having to talk to a customer service person, as I know I'll have to deal with the sales pitch. Thanks!
Yup - they'll hit your cell phone sooner or later. I'm getting them now. nm

My boys didn't have their own cell phone but sm
used ours and bought us a new one when they lost it. They coughed up their share of the car insurance when they got their driver's licenses at 16. No way could we afford to pay insurance for 3 boys to drive. LOL-and they all have impeccable driving records.
what's wrong with taking his cell phone
with him into the bathroom?
Talking on the cell phone requires one hand to --sm
be on the phone and not on the wheel, unless of course they use a headset, which most do not! They have less control of their vehicle.
Besides, it is hard to ignore people at other tables who are talking on their cell phones, when they have to talk so LOUD to be heard over the background noise, that you cannot help but hear their conversation. I personally do not care what they are talking about, nor do I want to hear it, but cannot help it. Personally, I think people who take their phones with them into restaurants and public places, and have them constantly ringing and talking loudly about private stuff, are just doing it for attention, and to TRY to annoy other people. There is such a thing as cell phone etiquette too, you know, one of which is to leave your cell phone off while in public.
New high school cell phone policy
Friends of our work at a local high school. That school has become fed up with cell phone usage in their school, so they have become rather devious.
If a cell phone is caught ringing, the teacher takes it and sends it to the office. The only way the student can get their phone back is if the parent come to pick it up. Even if the student is 18.
But the nifty thing? The V.P. scrolls through the address book and tries to identify some of the other students. Then she goes to their classroom, stands outside the door and calls their phone from the confiscated phone. If she catches the student answering the phone - automatic Saturday school.
Sounds almost like entrapment.
Question. I want to get a cell phone mainly in case I would have car trouble, etc. Which are
the best deals with cell phones that you dont use actually very often that dont cost a ton of money and get good reception in most areas. I have never had a cell phone and I have Verizons plan that I can call anywhere on my land phone so I pay a good bit already for phone service. Any input would be necessary. I dont want to pay a lot of money for something I will use very infrequently and lose all my minutes if I dont use them.
Dear teenage girl on the cell phone...
saying the word F**k many times during your conversation does not make you sound cool or grown up.
From the lady who is going to slap you silly
Love the cell phone commercials (cingular?) about dropped calls
They are so funny.
I would take his phone away or make him pay the bills for the phone
He can use the postal service to write her letters if he wants but there is no excuse. College is not highschool and if he's gonna make a go of it...be the parent and discipline....my opinion but take the phone away.
think about down the road
My sister is in a very similar situation. Her husband won't ever go out socially or even to family functions or kids' extracuricular activities. Think about how this will be down the road after you have kids. You are lucky because you aren't married yet, don't have kids, and are thinking rationally about this. If this is really how you want the rest of your life to be, then so be it, but if you can't imagine still doing this in 20 years then maybe it's not worth it. My sister has told me many times if she could have looked into the future and realized what he was going to be like (they only dated for a few months before they got married and he faked being sociable to make her like him) she would have never married him. Now they have 4 kids and she feels stuck in an unhappy life but won't make a change because of the kids. She knows that even though they love each other she would be happier with someone who was more like herself and really her husband would be more happy with someone more like himself, too.
You still don't know which road to take with that question,
do you? I don't think they are standing in front of road, with the truthful man standing in front of the correct road or anything like that.
Please don't take my post down that road
I did not write that post for people to start gay bashing, any bashing, or bible thumping. I was talking about basic rights that have been taken away from me, because of the rights some others think they need. And don't bash me, I believe in God and I will answer to Him for me, and me alone. I will not answer to Him for everyone else, they can do that on their own.
yep - your tune shall change down the road..LOL
Look at the bigger picture down the road.....
xx
I'm going down same road - please answer questions for me-sm
I have no other option but to get this done. I have been putting this off for awhile now, terrified of dentists.
1. Do you feel better healthwise since you got the dentures? Sometimes, I feel I will just generally feel better and maybe have more energy if I get this done.
2. Did they pull all top ones at once or in a few visits? Seems like such a traumatic thing to me to have done, maybe it's not so bad though?
3. What kind of anesthetic did you have, just novocaine or nitrous oxide or completely out?
3. Do you feel better about how they look and happy about having it done, now that it's over?
Thanks so much.
Hey, you're "right up the road" from me!
I'm just a tad southwest of Bangor, maybe 3 exits south off 95. I love Acadia but not during tourist season! I think Orono is nice--college townish if you're into that scene. I feel old and crusty when I go there, so I don't. I just spent the day in Bangor because we've been without power for 24 hours and just got it back on mere minutes ago. Crazy T-storms here yesterday!
Welcome to Maine and sorry your vacation is turning out to be so crappy. Mine always do to, which I why I haven't taken one in...oh....5 years now!
Two words from me....ROAD TRIP!!!! Yea!! nm
nm.
Religious conviction is a narrow road for some.
dd
Then, they can widen the road by allowing God to come into their lives!
g
They unknowingly turned onto a logging road.
Logging roads are not owned and/or maintained by the state. I believe it's the US Forest Service whose in charge of them. In any case, they are not public roads and are only supposed to be used by logging companies (popular with hunters also though). Unfortunately, the Kims did not know this when reading their map. They thought it was a normal road/highway.
Such a sad ending.
Me, again another thing 1 night riding down the road
going very fast saw these huge eyes - a cow in the middle of the road, good thing I did not hit her.
Me too - more of a road block really, flat and wide. :) Also known as ,
Apple A$$ :)
An unfortunate trait inherited from my mother's side of the family.
I love the smell of a gravel road...sm
I think foreigners/men with accents are sexy....
I was valedictorian and voted most likely to succeed...now I'm a SAHM who does transcription to supplement our income. I wouldn't trade a single moment with my kids for the most successful position in the world...
My favorite guilty pleasure is watching stupid movies with hot guys (like Spring Break Shark Attack).
yes, the dogs are left outside to run around, right next to a very busy road sm
yesterday i took my son to ball practice to see if he wanted to join. the friend i talked about in this post, his mom was there. (i knew the boy played ball, that's why my son wanted to play ball too). so i told my son that we'd go watch and see if that's what he wants to do. so i'm sitting there talking with the mom and i told her that i was a little scared of my son playing football because of getting hurt, etc. that he had already had two broken bones. she said that her husband (the dad that kicked the dog), has had several broken bones, from wrecks and she said when he was younger, he used to fight (like street fighting type stuff, not boxing). but she said that he doesn't do that any more, we grow up as we get older. i thought to myself, i guess he just beats up dogs now. i'm going to check into what rescue groups are around here. it's very obvious these dogs don't go to the vet for checkups. even if there is no child abuse going on, the kids are going to think it's ok to hurt animals.
thanks for your opinions
Or just freeze to use in soup or sloppy joes down the road. nm
