I have the lap dog version of the training collar. I have never used more than the first or second level (there are four levels on mine), and mostly just use the "bad tone" to get their attention. I think it's the best invention ever. I used it on me first also. Even the highest level is more like static. I've had worse static getting laundry out of my dryer!

static
My puppy has actually figured out if she runs herself across the back of the couch, she builds up static and can shock the crap out of ya. One of my boyfriend's co-workers didn't believe him, so he recorded her doing it on his phone. It's hilarious. Sometimes it actually hurts, though. lol
Try Static Guard spray.
static electricity and cats
This is so weird, it's really cold and dry, I have all kinds of things trying to humidify the house, and my cat was just rubbing all over my sweat-panted legs and every time my double chin hit the underbow on my headphones I got shocked. Random observation - I know, like anybody cares.
Got some beautiful new furniture..but full of static. sm
Had the furniture delivered on New Years eve and we have all had the shocks since then. When you sit on it and move you can hear the static in the fabric. The poor dogs look like they got their tale stuck in a light socket!!! The fabric is a micro-suede in choclate brown. Any ideas on what to do to get rid of the static in it?? We have a dry/moisture gauge in our house and it is in the "comfort zone" so we are not dry right now. Help!!!!
Shock
I think you are in shock. Obviously your husband is gay or at least bisexual. This is a serious matter to both of you, as it affects your mental state, your health, and how you are going to handle it. You must talk to him immediately, and you both must go to a professional, preferrably one that specializes in this type of situation. You have to come to terms with this. Good luck and my best to you both.
Total shock
That's all I have to say.
Culture shock?...sm
Leaving a major metropoliatan area in Upstate NY and moving to seriously rural area in South Central KY was quite a culture shock....The entire road in front of our house was gravel up until a coupla years ago....finally got city water too! It's a very small town without even a stop light....just a K-8 school and post office. The boys begged me for 3 years to take them back to civilization. It took that long to assimilate.
I went to work 40 miles away and wiggled my way into MT after having worked in a large vasc surg ofc in NY. I've met a lotta nice folks over the years here from all walks of life and finally learned how to make a decent jam cake and cornbread (not sweet). Cat
Well aware, still a shock
when you see it laid out in black and white,and it becomes a reality.
Shock has been ongoing for several years
and if you have had, you know just how bad it is! I have never had any pain that travels up or down the leg, just that foot thing only when I happen to walk, oh joy!! This is really odd but I have awakened in the night with a really harsh pain over the top of my right foot, only on the top where I would have to take the other foot and bear weight down it because of how bad it hurt. I know I have a curvature of my spine but really don’t have back pain per se. I am so tired of trying to find out really what is going on, so many doctors, so much of my time, no many things I have tried. This current used to strike sometimes as much as 6-10x a day, completely throws you off balance.
I believe Simon AND Randy were in shock too!
No, I think I was in shock and also with my older sister
who said, "let's go!" and rushed me out of the store as she was probably embarrassed and I was always getting into trouble. LOL!
It's the shock value - like saying you're an atheist
The best thing to say to these people - and I quote from the famous Cordelia from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - "What is your childhood trauma??!!"
mrsa=toxic shock
Did she express anything to get a culture...that is the only way to be sure, and also to be sure what antibiotics she needs. I don't want to scare you, but I nearly died of this ib 1994...I had a cyst/boil. I was waiting for it to get big enough to drain...I get these about every three yrs. This was in my armpit, from shaving. It spread throughout my whole system. Three yrs before the one on my big behind got bigger, but since it was not near any vascular supply, it was just painful rather than deadly.
You can't take this stuff seriously enough. Most of the older antibiotics will not touch it.
The main thing is to get something to culture. That is the ONLY way to be sure what you are dealing with.
We chase each other around the house and shock each other.
Yep, micro suede couch. I've been boiling water on the stove and running the humidifier, too. I can tell it's dry here because my sinuses are acting up and my hair is flyaway. Other than that, static guard or dryer sheets as the other posters suggested.
Never saw it coming, am in complete shock! sm
Wow. I did think it was somewhat distasteful that at the end they offered a memorial site for him, as though he (Kutner) was a real person. Hopefully, however, this will raise a bit of awareness to the importance of paying attention to those around us.

sticker shock at the grocery store..sm
I wanna vomit as well and hubby really has no concept of how high food has gotten.....
Still have 2 kerosene heaters that I won't part with in the event of a gas outage....but K1 is $3.50 a gallon.....I know what you're talkin' about trying to fill the tank with oil (I'm originally from the NE). We've got enough quilts and long underwear to make it through...And, I found insulated coveralls, Carhart (your winter uniform) $7...I hit the consignment stores and lucked out on that one!
A lotta people take for granted things like heat and food and have never chopped wood. In any event,it's great to know that you're okay. Cat

You can buy mild shock pads to place on furniture.

Um, exactly where is the shock collar? I see a regular collar here.
