I've had a couple removed. I had one in my upper thigh that was big and rubbery and felt somewhat attached to surrounding tissue. Mine was in the sense that it had little "runners" spreading to other parts of my leg. It turned out that it was pressing on a nerve and causing major leg pain. My doctors and I thought the pain was from a knee injured but as soon as we cut the biggest part of the lipoma out, the pain in my leg went away.
