side effects
Does anyone know it the Hoodia causes any side effects or if it affects blood pressure? I have both diabetes and hypertension and have to be careful what I take. Should be extra diligent in what I eat, but if I was I wouldn't be asking about Hoodia, now would I? Am really interested in learning about this. Need to lose a LOT of weight for health reasons, as well as clothes shopping. TIA
Side effects of chemo
You are 100% correct in your post but there are a lot of other ailments that are also treated with drugs that can cause cancer and this is something people are advised against up front. I remember 1 kid in high school treated some an ailment and the side effect of his treatment was that he contracted cancer and died from that. I have known for years the connection between breast cancer and hormone replacement; thus when I came of age to perhaps take it I turned it down. My mother, on the other hand, given hormone replacement and contracted cancer from I believe irradiation 30 years earlier for tuberculosis in her lymph glands and she mentioned to me the fact her doctor still had her on replacement hormones. She, herself, knew the connection. I have 2 older aunts and myself who have never taken this treatment because we all know connection. Believe me, if you check on other maladies, you will find the treatment often can cause the side effects such as cancer of which you speak.
Reading about possible side effects,
I can see why you might feel anxious. Do you usually tolerate medications well, or do you tend to react oddly? Not that that is a big help. I know most meds work great for me, but even low doses of Topamax were bad for me in a sneaky way.
Tough choice. Do they know what is causing your occipital neuralgia? Sorry to hear you have that!
Cipro-side effects
I took Cipro last month for diverticulitis. Now I have EXTREME tendon and muscle pain. Anyone out there ever had this reaction?
These are the possible side effects of SSRIs
On this website they did not mention violence and suicidal thoughts.
Side effects of SSRIs include:
Nausea
Sexual dysfunction, including reduced desire or orgasm difficulties
Dry mouth
Headache
Diarrhea
Nervousness
Rash
Agitation
Restlessness
Increased sweating
Weight gain
Drowsiness
Insomnia
Now you think that these SSRIs made your life 'worth living again?' Do you think that your life is only worth living when being on these antidepressants?
But I am happy for you that you feel better.
Any side effects? Can you take this stuff with caffeine? nm

kids, meds, side effects
I would make sure that he was not having side effects from medication. Seven years is a long time to be on prescriptions and this is the age when most of the boys were taken off medication so they could grow normally through their puberty, as it was stunting growth in some boys that were my son's friends.
Beyond that, 6th grade is the grade when children are picked on the most. If your son has one friend at all, I would try to shore that up.
Any side effects? Odors? Bad breath? Diarrhea? etc. nm

Scary reports on Eladil possible side effects, though. (sm)
From FDA website:
Possible risk of cancer: As noted in the Elidel Cream label and patient Medication Guide, although a link has not been made, rare cases of cancer (for example, skin and lymphoma) have been reported in patients who use Elidel Cream. The manufacturer is conducting studies to examine the risk of cancer. These studies may take many years to complete.
you have a valid point here, one has always to consider side effects of meds..nm

Drugs.com: Read on this site about more side effects of Xanax
Other side effects have included withdrawal symptoms following either abrupt cessation or fast tapering of alprazolam. Withdrawal symptoms may include agitation, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, convulsions, tremor, abdominal cramps, blurred vision, vomiting, and sweating.
No regrets whatsoever..sm
only wish I could have had it done 5-6 years sooner!

There's one side, the other side, and the truth
And boy is it true.
I will say you sound like my aunt, who never speaks up, gets walked all over and then cries about it later.
Her kids/grandkids have no idea why she is always depressed, they think nothing of doing whatever they want without regard for her because she hasn't expressed an interest or opinion on anything and they don't know any better.
Yes, they use her. Yes, they could do things for her, but she never asks anything or says anything, so they don't press it, because it's always been that way. And she's a martyr, so it'd upset her pattern if things actually changed.
And the truth (and maybe reconciliation) lies in the middle somewhere.
Sad.
No ill effects here.
Hormonal effects?
You know, I am way past menopause and I (along with 2 of my aunts in their 80s) have never had any symptoms. One aunt had surgical menopause at 20 something, nothing. I know this is not the same with each women but I never went thru menopause and know the ovaries just withered and died. Last year (age 63) my doctor even was amazed at the moistness on the exam. I have no explanation for that except I just don't feel my age at all, except for those aches and pains that have come with some age.
They should be more worried about the effects
especially in a larger state such as California. Smoking is an addiction, but I personally feel that there more of a problem with obesity. People are trying to quit smoking, but are they really trying to quit eating? JMO. What someone does on their own property, whether it be an apartment, townhome, etc., is their own business as long as there are no laws broken.
I have had no ill-effects or complications - sm
from having had 4 epidurals by the way. What was different about it with my second delivery is the doctor must have done a really good job as I could not feel my legs at all, I remember joking with the nurses that they could chop off my leg and I woud not feel it. I could move it just could not feel it. They had to tell me when to push as I was so numb and could not feel the pressure at all. But my daughter came flying out in 7 minutes despite being super numb, no episiotomy either with either kids though I did tear ever so slightly with #1 and needed two stitches with her. That is what I wanted to avoid the most, much more than an epidural.
instead of doing some negative...
Do something positive! Start an exercise routine, take a yoga class, start cooking exotic but healthy meals...that'll surely get your man's attention. Why kill yourself just so a man will pay attention to you? That doesn't make sense...You are worth taking care of, no matter who or what gives you attention.
What negative impact?
Wal-Mart generally has a positive impact on the local economy. Yeah, it may run a small business or two out that cannot compete, but it hires a lot more people and ensures that people that shop there pay lower prices than previously giving a net return of more cash to the consumer. I'll take the lower prices.
You may be right, I tend to be very negative
So thanks for the honesty, I may just get that DVD.
always so negative I got her name right maybe you just dont have all the facts
Her name was Vicki Lynn however those who did know her from before know that she used the nickname Nicki when she worked in the clubs around Houston and when she went to Playboy they changed her name to Anna Nicole.
Enjoy your rant I just gave my opinion like everyone else sorry to have annoyed you with a little different point of view.
It is considered a double negative, sm
and not standardly use. Use "regardless", or "irrespective". It is considered bad grammar.
I agree/always seems very negative and angry.

I'm giving up negative comments
I'm going to let only positive comments pass my lips, otherwise I will stay quiet. Believe me, the Lord knows what a sacrifice this will be for me.
I don't think she meant anything negative. Agree

Why all the negative posts and not signing your name? sm
Hmmm. I find that very curious. It makes me think either you've been hurt very badly somehow regarding puppy mills and have completely given up, or... you're worried about your livelihood because you're running a puppy mill. Just speculating, of course, but why else would you even feel the need to post and be so incredibly negative?
*Of course* this show will help, if only for the fact that so many people just simply aren't aware of the pet store-puppy mill connection and this will educate them and raise their awareness. What is the alternative - do nothing? No, unacceptable.
I had only heard negative about pit bulls
until I heard Rachael Ray talk about hers. With a personality like hers how can she have a bad dog? I do have a new respect for them now, but I agree that I would want to do some research on their "family". I personally prefer tiny little dogs that don't shed. Do pit bulls shed? I posted below that we had a boxer and the shedding was unbelievable but that is not the reason we no longer have her.
I agree, I had 2 babies with negative ultrasounds
I did not have the same negative ultrasound finding that you have, but 2 of my 4 babies did have things wrong on the ultrasounds from not functioning organs to cysts on the brain. Both babies were born healthy and are today still years later very healthy and happy. I also had a friend who was told she was going to have a trisomy baby, but a scan 2 weeks later proved the first scan (or technician) wrong as did her amniotomy, a perfectly healthy baby girl. Hang in there, I am sure the thoughts are filling your mind and heart every moment, but try and look up info on Google just to gain more knowledge. I will pray for you. :)
Sounds like he is a negative weight pulling you
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I agree with what some others said about at least taking some time apart to see how things go. I also agree with consulting with a family law attorney. Almost all attorneys have free consultations, so you could talk to several lawyers for free and find one you feel comfortable with. They often give free advice before you even hire them (the one I worked for did anyway).
It stinks that your husband is so insistent about keeping the house, but if you do end up divorcing it may be hard for you to live there anyway with all the memories, so a new place might be good for you. It would be hard on your kids for sure, but it is probably hard for them to see their mother belittled and to witness a seemingly loveless marriage as well.
Maybe your husband doesn't want to focus on his own shortcomings so he is focusing on yours or maybe he is just too much of a perfectionist and too selfish. Have you guys tried counseling?
If you do end up spending time apart you might end up feeling incredibly free without someone constantly telling you how WRONG you are when in fact you are only human and have flaws like everyone else. He obviously has flaws too, and I would bet money his place would not be spotless and perfectly "organized" if you weren't there to clean it for him! He probably has no idea how hard you work. You deserve to be loved unconditionally, and even if you guys break up and you don't date anyone for awhile, at least he won't be there trying to dampen your self confidence and the love you have for yourself. Good luck and stay strong!!!
That should be "then." I'm just so sick of the negative here! Getalife!
You are missing the boat entirely and totally negative when you no NOTHING
He has more (material things) than you do and most men of 60s+. He has a home that he has worked to own -- not given to him! Material things do not mean much to me, however. I make my own living. He has an engineering and Masters degree. How many degrees do you have? He is very athletic! He has had olympic training. He is a wonderful man who MANY of you would desire and don't have. He knows that pleases a woman and EXACTLY what he wants in life.
Most important to me is that he expresses that he is a "God-fearing" man. There is NOTHING in life more important to me than that!
He has no kids -- not a priority in life for him. He is too wonderful to describe! I know more about him than you will ever know about your partner, because we COMMUNICATE.
Sorry for your skepticism. But I will take it with a grain of salt, as it deserves to be taken.
This man is an open book -- but not only that, but he hides nothing.
WOW is all I can say about him ! Have never met a man like this in my entire life! He wants to please me, and he is certainly capable of doing that.

See, that's was exactly my initial response to the negative drug test. SM
I felt like relief that my son, even when faced with the temptation, resisted the urge to smoke pot with his friends. I actually congratulated my son and told him how proud I was that he hadn't been taking any drugs or smoking pot. But then I wondered if he should be punished for having a bong in his pack. He obviously didn't use it, but why did he have it?
Now I think I may lift the grounding, but set some rules about him avoiding being around the 23-year-old guy and basically having him check in with me routinely when he is out and as long as he follows the rules, then I'll trust him.
Geez, I don't think I'm going to survive the teenage years and they've only just begun! I can only hope that when my 7yo daughter reaches her teens, she will go a little easier on me!
Thanks everyone for listening and offering your advice.
She'd like to learn something new to cook. There was a negative response to her inquiry
and I just wanted to smooth it over and give out a pretty good recipe. I've been making a similar recipe for about 35 years, growing my own veggies, fruits, canning and freezing food.

from the other side...
My MIL said that she thought I should have never had my first son while I was pregnant with my second and that I should probably abort him (her son and I were married at the time and I am and was 30). That hurts. I can imagine that she probably does not think that seeing the baby is a priority for someone who suggested she give it up. I know that she is 18 and stupid, but this is her child and try to put yourself in her place. I cannot allow my MIL to be alone with my children until they are older because I am afraid that she will put her difference with me ahead of their safety. When my son was 1, she allowed him to play with a fork (running around) and refused to move her vodka out of his reach just to spite me. What will she do if I am not around to watch her and them? I must put their safety ahead of her desires. That is just hte way it is. I am not saying that you would do any of these things, but keep in mind that she and your son will probably not work out, as they are so young, and she will have your grand child forever. Perhaps, you should try to create peace and apologize, even if you think that you are right.
Trying to look at it from the other side
Guys are funny creatures (and not in the ha-ha way). As women, I think somehow we learn that it's okay to talk about feelings. Guys, especially of a certain age, don't have that luxury, and a lot will use humor to 'hint' at something that is bothering them rather than come straight out and ask (heck, I even do it myself, especially if it's something that is really bothering me on an emotional level and I'm afraid of the answer!). It's possible that he feels badly about you paying his way...yes, we're independent women now, but you can't change thousands of years of hunter/gatherer instinct overnight. He probably wanted to hear how you responded to it...depending on whether you joked back, how you joked back, or whether you got angry, he may have thought he'd get an answer that told him how you were feeling about it without straight out confronting/asking you about it.
Never forget that men are just as insecure in relationships as women are; they're just better at masking it behind stupid comments!

and don't forget to remove the neck and giblets in the bag inside the turkey prior to baking. I learned from experience. :^)

talk about fun! Either go without or those stretch ones since I don't need any support really except on the 1 side a little bit. There are more AAs out there now but 5-10 years ago other than shopping in the girl's department it was impossible!

Flip side--sm
I would just like to interject my own experience with getting dentures.
I had an immediate denture procedure, meaning the denture was made prior to the actual removing of the normal teeth and placed immediately after removal. When I first saw my denture in my mouth, I cried! It was way too big and I looked like Bugs Bunny! The dentist that made this denture then went on vacation and I had to wear this atrocious looking appliance for another month while a new one was being made. I had to go to work with this thing in my mouth and even at 42 years of age, I had to be the recipient of cruel joking from my coworkers. But I finally got my new, smaller denture and even though it looked better, it did not fit well. My gums shrunk quicker than normal and I had to have it relined within two months. (another expense). So with that horrible experience, I decided never to return to that dental group again, which I did not. I tolerated not being able to eat anything with more hardness than a peanut butter sandwich, or my denture would pop out. That meant no meat, no corn on the cob, no pickles, etc. I also had to deal with slippage while speaking, etc. Not every one has a good experience with dentures and if I had it all to do over again, I would NEVER NEVER have my own teeth removed for a pair of plastic useless torture appliances!
I have new dentures now, which I paid for on my own and even though they are 80 percent better than what I had previously, they are still not all that comfortable and they still have their problems with eating certain foods. I can eat steak and corn on the cob now, but no apples. Most of the time when I am at home, I do not wear them. They still hurt to wear for any length of time.
This has just been my experience and I just wanted to share it so that you can hear both sides. No matter how bad your own teeth may be, they can be fixed and be made very presentable. Once you have dentures, you can never go back. I would take my own natural teeth back in a heartbeat, if that was an option for me.
I wish you all the best of course, no matter what decision you make.
visit to the other side
I was at a bridge and on the other side I saw people sitting on lush lawn and playing in the water, lots of laughter, etc. I was met by a spirit who said (telepathically) that I had things to do before I came in but that it was totally my decision to stay or return. I chose to return. That evening I told my doctor the whole story, from the moment the nurse told him I had passed to what they did to my body next and my experience on the other side. Needless to say, he was speechless. This was in 1964 and none of these experiences had been published yet.
Actually, my side is to the door. sm
