I don't think the previous poster is being cynical, kids really are growing up too fast and not being kids and the advertising companies out there totally play into it. There is so much pressure on young girls to start trying to look sexy when they should still be playing with dolls, and to worry about their weight when they are perfectly fine, not to mention still growing.
Its espeically bothersome when you think about all the perverts and child molesters out there- sure the internet plays a part in why there are so many but you have to wonder if that is the only thing that fuels the fire.
I have a friend who likes her daughters to dress modestly and it is almost impossible to find anything out there that is- she often has to modify the clothing herself with a sewing machine.
I'm just glad I am not having to grow up in today's world.
