No safer here than in Cancun

In Reply to: Why not stay safe AND support the US economy - by spending Spr. Break at a US resort?
I have traveled out of the country for years, myself and my children and have never had any harm done to us. I intend to go again this year but I travel alone, meet up with a group and tour then. A single female, OMG....

So talc is a safer bet since it doesn't
feed yeast and it could have yeast. Or yeast could start up in that environment. Plus, corn starch smells funny to me.
Why the Army? She'd be much safer in Navy
My husband just completed his tour of duty in May with the Navy and never went anywhere near Iraq. The only places he went where Key West, Guam, Hawaii, and Nevada. My sister was also in the Navy and got out almost 2 years ago. She never went to the Middle East or anywhere dangerous either. I know the Navy has been overstaffed recently though, but they can always use people in healthcare and may let her join that way.
Agreed--harnesses are much easier & safer :)
When we lived in the city, we let both of our cats out on leashes but they wore harnesses, mainly so they couldn't slip loose. They did start out as kittens with them though, not as adult cats. They would hear me jingle their leashes and harnesses and come RUNNING to be tied outside to the little backyard there. They absolutely loved it and the worst that would happen is they would get tangled to each other and around a bush. I was always around to supervise though...usually enjoying morning coffee out on the back deck listening to the thumping cars and sirened-vehicles drive by. Man do I miss the city--NOT!
Good luck with your kitty! I'm sure you'll be fine!
We stayed at a Riu Caribe in Cancun and
had a fantastic time. Friends of ours have stayed at one of the other ones in Cancun (there are 3) and all are great.
I have been to Cancun and several parts of Mexico and
never ever had a bad time there. If you want a hate America type situation, go to Greece. Mexico is a wonderful place for a vacation. My daughter just went to Cancun this past year as she does every year and we always have a great time.
yeah but...Mexico is gorgeous. Hey, I went to Cancun. I look at sm
it this way: If more of us were to vacation and spend our money there enjoying their gorgeous wild life and pretty beaches, that would give them plenty of tourist money and they wouldn't have to leave their country! I respect those hard-working Mexicans who stay in Mexico (like the ones who courted us at the resort), and I support the likes of them. They work hard, stay in their country, and I will give them good tips and help them to help their families as I enjoy snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and great food.
I wouldn't put all Mexicans into a box and say that you wouldn't give them a dime. Yes, there are illegals here who have no morals and I certainly don't support them! But, like I said, I do support those hard-working ones who are staying in their own country. I don't see a problem in that.
Brother flew both sets of parents down to Cancun for a beach wdg. Simple. His

Anyone else going to Cancun for Spring Break and concerned about current safety concerns
We're all set to go to Cancun for Spring Break and then we hear all of this on the news about people being careful in Mexico because of the drug cartel activities and killings etc. Does this even involve Cancun or is it just the border places. The Spring Breakers are being warned about going so it makes me wonder if it is just the borders as most Spring Breakers do not go to the border towns. Does anyone have anymore information. I have a good friend who met her husband in Mexico, has crossed the borders etc and she said going to Mexico isnt worth risking your life because they hate Americans. Yikes.. I don't know whether to go or not or if I'm just being paranoid now.
And Thursday night is safer than Friday night - how?
We used to live in a town that was once in the Guiness Book of World Records for number of churches per capita (which by the way was the worst place I've ever lived - discourteous, Nazi schools, etc.), and they wouldn't let us trick or treat on Sundays. Ridiculous! People can say what they want but celebrating Halloween doesn't make you a devil worshiper! Just my 2 cents!
