Secondly, it's not just the Christians, I beg to differ.......there's plenty of other religious groups in the USA - that this effects.....and who have been oppressed for a couple of centuries as I see it.

kid in bathtub-is there any better sound in the world?
As I sit here and type, my little guy (who's almost eight), is in the tub. His whole life, he has always made these sweet sounds as he plays with his bath toys, just nonsensical, whimsical noises. I always thought that was the sweetest thing when he was a baby, but now, as a little man, he still does it. It's a melodic,sing-song sort of thing he does. When I point out to him how much I love it, he stops, so I've learned to just cherish and enjoy it, hoping it never ends. Warms my heart, thought I'd share.
Go get him, that's what I would do. I live in the country and
get strays all the time, have had up to 11 at one time outside, left by people who moved or just dropped off. My DH always says no to more but he is a big softie as soon as he seems them. Provide this sweetie a home. Good luck.
We live in the country and are now seeing an overflow of dumping dogs..sm
especially pit bulls. A few weeks ago we had two stray dogs show up at our house. One was a large mixed dog, but the other one was a pit bull. They were in our back yard trying to knock over our rabbit cages to get our bunnies!! The pit bull actually bit through the bottom of the rabbit cage and got one of our bunnies on his leg. Our neighbor chased them off and they went into the corn field behind us. But,later on just the pit bull came back...looking for some more of our bunnies. That pit bull saw me standing on the back of our deck and charged across the backyard and up our deck stairs! Luckily I got in the door when I seen him coming. I called our county dog warden and the sheriff and can you believe nobody came out to check on it?!?! The dog warden didnt even call us back and I called at least 8-10 times! I have three small children and three dogs and a cat that all love to play outside. I cannot believe we could not get any help with getting this dog out of our area. The farmer up the road finally shot him one night. I am an animal lover and hated to see it happen, but not sure what other choice our neighbor had. This dog was definitely mean and aggressive and was probably used for fighting, as he had scars on his body.
The world you're teaching them to live and survive in
seems to be a very cold, harsh one. I wonder if you're as hard on yourself when you make a mistake and "forget" something.
What an embarrassment these people are to the dog world.
 This has been a huge topic on one of my golden lists on and off for nearly a year. A friend of mine lives in the same county as the Schocks and she has been updating us on the plight of the pups. Last February an article was published in the Sullivan County Democrat about the puppies, but only recently has it gone nationally.
The "White Lake Goldens" kennel is nothing but despicable. Alex and Suzana Schock and their PM needs to be shut down and hopefully soon...and their NYS dealer license should be revoked. Why they have a dealer's license is beyond me!

department store, where there is no food being served, and her "baby" isn't being a problem, then you shouldn't have the BIG problem with it that you obviously have. I know my dog is a dog, but I have trained her to be quite well behaved, so I don't have a problem taking her around. Only you are the one who is taking this whole thing as rude. I take my dog into the mall all the time and it's no big deal. I'm not being rude or discourteous to anyone and I mind my own business. It really sounds like you need to do the same. Live and let live.

you do not love. People have choices. If you chose to live with someone you did not love, wanted out of the marriage and was unhappy, then good for you. Fortunately, I would not stay in that situation and be miserable.

The people that used to live across the street
from my parents one Yard Of The Month from a local garden club one time. My father snuck over there one night and stole it from their yard to put in ours. Thank heavens they had a good sense of humor.
Don't forget the people who live near an
ocean and might get eaten by a shark someday or live an area that sees a lot of hurricanes/tornados/blizzards. I think the whole state of Florida should pay more because they have more sun exposure than the north and run a higher risk of skin cancer.
And definitely charge more for the sex-crazed teenagers that might contract an STD and how about all the tots in daycare bringing home who knows what. Shall we go on?
I feel sorry for people who live off the government
I have raised 2 kids that did not have to do without and on my own. I was a divorced woman and did not, thank goodness, have to rely on anyone or anything else. I am much stronger than that.

Calling all you animal lovers - live and let live or intervene? - sm
I have a dilemma. I am an animal lover and have something I cannot come to a conclusion about. At a restaurant where I eat lunch every Friday with a friend of mine, I have noticed a young male kitty hanging around outside looking for food. This past week he ran up to my friend and rubbed her legs and quietly meowed. I purposely did not try to pet him because I knew I would get attached and ignored him. Well, ever since then I find myself thinking about him and wanting to rescue him. Meanwhile, I already have 4 inside cats (2 rescues, 2 Maine Coons) and hubby really does not want another cat in the house because a few years ago I promised we would never have more than 4 (had up to 5 at one point previously). I actually have a huge screened deck he could stay on indefinitely because I do not believe in letting cats run loose for their own safety. I could provide plenty of food, a warm place to sleep, and veterinary care. At some point I would even probably work him into our household, but I just cannot do it at the moment. Just not sure I would be doing right by that kitty because I am sure he would be upset and confused for a good while as to where he was and what was going on, but is that better than being hungry and cold? I know there are lots of animal lovers out there. What does everyone think??
I'm a live-and-let-live person but had to draw the line
after I found HUGE holes in the walkway between my house and barn. I thought they were just little mice stealing grain, but then I spotted one and it was a HONKIN RAT! My poor olderly cat was out there with me at the time and saw it, and he hissed at it and ran away!
I asked for advice on what to do at a local agricultural board, because I have other animals and didn't want to use poison and conventional traps weren't working. They advised putting a large pale of water out with some seeds floating in it, figuring the rats would go for the seeds and end up drowning. That was a no-go because the water just froze up solid. I wound up reluctantly going with Decon because I just can't have my house destroyed. I haven't had seen any more rats or evidence of them stealing grain, so I'm guessing they have died. The guy at the grain store promised me the rats would not die in the building and stink the joint up, rather they would crawl off and die outside. I don't know if I believe that, as it is still winter here and decomposition would be holding off until it warms up. We'll see, but at least the destruction has been halted.
Good luck and I too say have no mercy, because you just don't need them destroying hour house or causing a spark chewing wires and burnin' the place down. It is war!

Not all dogs want to be in "indoor" dogs, mind you. They have plenty of space to run around and play, fenced, and if they are brought in during bad weather they whine at the back door to go back out! So before you comment on outside dogs, you really need to get your facts straight. Seriously. Not all dogs are made or want to be inside all of the time.

How does this woman stay in business?? If it were me, I would go back there one more time, to make it clear that she would never see a dime of my money, and exactly why. Perhaps her attitude works in her country or culture, whatever it is, but if she wants to sell to Americans she needs a major attitude adjustment. IMO, the only people who would buy from her are a) masochists or b) arrogant insecure people like her.

Let me tell you what could happen. You said not cheating, did he confess the other time while cheating or afterwards? Probably not while it was going on. A mother should be happy with herself first. Why be miserable so the kids would be happy?? They will grow up, leave 1 day and then what do you have? Still unhappiness because you might allow him to stay but then again if he is saying not loving you anymore, I doubt very seriously he is planning on staying, probably trying to cushion the blow some. If the kids mother is not happy, your kids are probably going to know that and that can cause problems there.

It most certainly can help a whole lot. Do you know how many people have no idea where pet store puppies come from. A whole whole bunch. If the word and pictures of this abuse is put out there by a mass publicity machine such as Oprah, hopefully the demand will go down and the supply will also. Oprah herself said she will never ever get another dog unless it is from the shelter herself and how this report has changed her views, so apparently she had no idea of this horrible industry too.

Forgiving the little girl "as a Catholic" (guilt-wielding psychobabble aside), is absolutely beside the point. This is a 6-year old who is obviously not yet acquainted with the concept of right versus wrong & who is having some pretty serious control issues. It is the parents' responsibility to make sure she gets a VERY clear lesson about this VERY soon, and the teacher's responsibility to enforce this in the classroom. "Second chance" indeed. It would be absolutely irresponsible to "give her a second chance" without first making absolutely certain she knows what she did, knows why it was wrong, feels remorse, will never do it again, and expresses all of the above to everyone involved.

She did something similar a short time ago but used egg noodles in place of the hashbrowns and added spinach and chicken. Not sure exactly the recipe but it sounds like basically the same thing. I remember it looked really yummy.

Sorry if its rent or school or groceries or school I would pick rent and groceries, otherwise I wouldn't get on a board and cry about not being able to pay my rent. I also know plenty of people on WC who may not be able to do the job they were doing but can do something...so give me a break. I've been broke and down and out and I didn't say there is nothing I can do, I went out and did something about it, even if it is working 2-3 jobs, which may not be my perfect life but it allows me to pay my bills, my family had a nice Christmas and I paid cash for it so I don't have to worry next month how I'm going to pay for it.

I am steamed!!! I went to a sex offender meeting and those scum bags can live anywhere! Even though, it says that they are not suposed to go into a tavern or lounge or be around a park, they plop them right next to a bar and a block from a park in our neighborhood! We have three level "3" sex offenders in a house that "they" say has eight other men there too. So you know they are ( level 1) sex offenders..I mean come on, what real man would live there with sex offenders?
SO they are more concerned about a child that might eat one to many french fries, but heck....let the sex offenders live next to a school or park, so they can watch the kids and know their patterns!
