No--don't like to shout --

-- when I get truly angry, I tend to become quiet, precise speaking, just drag out every big word in my vocabulary.  I was raised by older parents on a large farm with no close neighbors, as an only child.  My parents and grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins, who lived close by did not raise their voices to me or each other, either. There really was no need to--not a lot of us.  I actually left school in the first grade and started walking home at lunchtime because I couldn't stand all the noise.  My daughter and I are somewhat alike, thank goodness!  She is, and always has been, pretty laid back, reasonable, sweet, calm and was fairly easy to raise.

My last relationship was with a man who had a quick temper and he and his teenaged son screamed at each other on an almost daily basis, cursed and called each other names.  Thing is, the next day they would be all lovey-dovey again. (!)  I couldn't handle the roller coaster of emotions and knew this relationship would never work for me!
