since I refused to loan her $3000.00 two years ago to get her and her family out of a "temporary" bind. She hasn't spoken to me or emailed me since. I call her and she doesn't call back. I email her and no reply. We spoke all the time before that. Guess she didn't like the fact that my son's college tuition bill was more important. For some odd reason, she thinks we are loaded since we haven't filed bankruptcy yet and all my other siblings did.

Normal or not? Son saying he hates h is sister (sm)
He is 10, she is 3 years younger. She is usually nice to him and loves him. I could understand if he blurted out "I hate you" when they were arguing, but tonight I told him that she won't be home tomorrow afternoon and he and I could go see a movie or something together and he said "she won't be here - good - I hate her." And he said it so mean. I told him he is not allowed to talk about her like that, that she wouldn't talk that way about him and if she did, she would be in trouble. He said, "I don't know why, she's just so annoying and I hate her." I asked him what he thought "hate" meant and he said that it was wishing someone would just "poof, disappear." She tends to be more outgonig than him. She learned to waterski this weekend, while he refused to even try. So I don't know if he is just jealous or what, but it scares me that something so mean can come out of my own child's mouth.
My MIL hates men
Don't know why. She beat up her first husband on several occasions (she was drunk a lot), and she also picked up her 2nd husband and threw him through a wall, down some stairs and beat him up a couple times (she is a stocky woman). All while claiming the victim role. She really hates men (unless they were her high school sweethearts) then she is always showing us her pictures with her old boyfriends while pointing out how beautiful she was. She was a pretty girl then but now she looks 20 years older than she really is. It's those times that I am always tempted to say "beauty is on the inside", but know what she did to her two husbands I stay clear and keep my mouth shut. Sometimes I used to feel bad for her until I was alone one time while my DH went out to the store and she decided to tell me how much she does not like me and that I should leave my husband and go back home to "where I belong". Anyway...nobody can understand why she hates men so much, but her hatred for her first husband goes further - into her kids. She blames her kids for her not being successful. If she didn't have all those kids (7 of them), she would have "really gone places because I was smart and beautiful". I try and not be around when those kind of conversations come up.
A DIL who hates my guts - enough said!
....
I know. Here I am all excited, and what if Sasha hates her!
If Sasha says no, we'd be nuts to get her because Sasha needs somebody to play with.
Might I add that FOX news, who hates Moore..nm
When Sicko came out in Cannes France over a month ago, it was FOX NEWS (who really dislike Moore since Fahrenheit 911 movie) who FIRST commended Moore's SICKO film........FOX NEWS!!!!!!
I would not force him to stay if he hates it - sm
that much. That said, I am a GS co-leader of a Brownie and Junior Troop. Both my daughters are in GS, 1 loves it, the other wants out. Since I would have to take her to the meetings anyway, I am making her stay in. The only part she does not like is the meetings, which is twice a month for us. She loves the activities we do which are not too much 4 booth sales a year (cookies and nuts), a campout a year in cabins at a GS camp, and usually 1 or 2 other fun activities with other troops, skating, baseball game, that sort of stuff. Despite my 1 daughter's protests I know she will still have a good time, especially this year as our Brownie troop went from 14 to 8, and our Junior troop from 14 to 4. I don't know how much longer mine will want to do it but I will stop when they really don't want to or don't have the time anymore due to other activities. We don't plan on having a Cadette troop (the next step after Junior)as our leader doesn't want that responsibility, so we have I think 2 more years at least. Once my oldest is "done" with it I will pull them both out, or is she wants to continue I will just find another troop for her that has a Cadette group. ---These boy scout leaders need a bit more compassion, and need to allow the boys to call home once a day if they want to. No you don't want some kid calling home every five minutes. We had a girl like that in our troop, a real pain in the butt. She was a bully, constanting hurting others or bullying them, and all the other girls could not stand her, but we had to deal with her and teach the girls to nice to her, etc. in hopes that this girl would get better. Never happened. I am happy to know she is not coming back next year. She made every event a drama about her, calling mom constantly on campouts, changing her mind about leaving every 5 minutes about having her mom pick her up early, crying, fussing, generally just being a pain if she did not get her way. (She has emotional problems at 11, on drugs for depression, anger mgmt--parents were finally forced to get her help after she tried to choke someone 2 x at school--private school, and they pay handsomely to keep her there by donating stuff all the time to the school, the girl will never get kicked out though she should have been expelled years ago for her violence)--- but that is me off on another tangent. ---But the men leaders have that caveman thinking, that the boys have to tough it out to become men, and all that garbage. They definitely need to clean out their campsite, rake it out, build a nice fire during the day....we never have unattended fires at night....even when I tent camped for my training. In theory the BS leaders should have their training, both BS and GS require training, though BS has a lot more stuff going on the GS, but the GS has lots more red tape and paperwork we have to submit before doing anything---took me an hour to fill out all my forms this year, for the 2 girls and myself as a leader. ---but I do believe scouting is good for kids, but if they really, really hate it, don't make them, it just makes everyone miserable there.
Yes! Can you see 3 of them? And they are expensive, too. DH HATES it! haha nm
.
Okay, my sister and I are doing Thanksgiving this year and since my sister can't cook, that means
I'm doing the cooking. My sister gets equal billing cause we're doing it at her house. :) Soooo, I'm looking for some vegetable ideas. I am about sick of green bean casserole! Does anyone have any really tasty recipes for vegetables side? Any kind of vegetables. I'm looking for something different and fabulous.
I had a corn casserole at one potluck I went to, but never got the recipe. Anybody got a good corn recipe?
Thanks Ladies!
My DH also works for post office, but hates Netflix (sm)
His job is to keep all those post office machines running, and he says those Netflix envelopes jam them up!
I swear...
There must be something addictive they put in strawberry Twizzlers. Love, love, love them! I can't go more than a few days without having to have a bag next to me while working. Now I have my 18-year-old and 3-year-old sons addicted as well, but I guess it could be something worse. I also heard it helps regulate the bowel habits, too, but have not really noticed any difference. Gotta go, need to stock up some more!
Don't Do IT!! Are we related? I swear
my husband and I have the same situation - except his sister is in her 40s. If they are living with him, they can take care of him. Otherwise...if they are not able to care for him, what example are they going to be for your child? What environment for you all to live in? The father made his choice, and now, sadly, he can live with it.
Actually, I did ask that...plus a swear word or two.
I can have such a potty mouth sometimes...I swear, sometimes I sound like a sailor!
Anyway, back on subject here...I did ask my brother and sister in law about that and they told me she had been on the pill since she was 13!! Again, rendered me just about speechless except for the F bomb, which was all I could really manage. No apparent worries of STDs or just plain 'ol self-esteem and self-respect.
They (the parents) completely lost my respect years ago. At least the youngest out of the 3 has a chance. She sees how messed up the whole situation is and knows the key to success isn't what's in her pants. She's just staying low, staying on the honor roll, and has her sites set on pre-Vet, which is oh so totally too cool for school. She's the only one of the 3 that ever liked hanging out with me, so I take that as a HUGE compliment....either that or she really is "not right."
when you go to court in the USA, you swear on..sm
In every court in the USA, one swears on a bible, probably the New Testament (I know it's not the Old Testament), and no matter who you are, you have to swear on the Bible (in a trial case). I would swear on it - it's a book about God, no matter if it's the old one or the new one, and as a result it still holds up as a respectable Bible to me for swearing to God.....I revere all books such as this, for everyone's religious beliefs.
I swear he thinks he's a dog
He's constantly into everything, and is more curious than a cat! I plan on doing eventing with him, but I want to let him get nice and big before I start riding him! He's going to visit the vet as soon as it cools off a bit more though, he's started thinking with the wrong brain if you know what I mean!
I let him out into the front yard to eat grass a lot because we don't have a lot in the pasture and I think he gets tired of his round bale. Well a couple of weeks ago I had my truck loaded up with some rubbermaid boxes of stuff I was taking to the church and I came out the next morning and the lid was off of everyone and he had dug through EVERYTHING!
I love him though, he's my kid! I can't wait til I can get my other boy in with him, but he's still at my moms until we move somewhere with more land. This is a picture of him with my mom. I call him Danny Boy. He's a 17.2 hand warmblood. (My mom is 5Ǝ so you can see how big he is!)
She's cute, I swear!
x
That is too funny! I swear, where do they come up this stuff?!?!?
x
Have you been on Dr. Phil? I swear I saw this on his show.
Stand up for yourself. Stop caterting to this man. Give him a dose of his own medicine. Do for only you and your children, and I mean, cooking, cleaning, etc. And if your family likes him, so what, they dont have to live with him.
I swear I am going to have heart failure sm
if one more person walks into my office and scares the bejesus out of me. I'm so intent on concentrating on this doc and they walk in and say "hey mom" and I just totally jump out of my chair. They they say, "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." My hubby has a bad habit of doing that when I am reading, too. I read every night for about an hour at bedtime with the nightstand light on. I'm totally involved in the book and I can't see him when he comes through the door because of the light and all of a sudden, he just appears like a ghost and I nearly fall out of bed because of fright. Of course he says, "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." GRRR.
Never ever ate that, swear on my furkids lives
Now I love beef but hardly eat that now- hubby wants us to cut back on that and the pork but that does not mean I do not love. I probably would throw up if someone served me liver of any kind. I was raised in Tenn but live in Georgia now and no I have never. I have seen liver in the grocery but as far as the other organs, just do not see them here (in town over 4 million) so have shopped in big stores. We have an international market and the next time I am there will check and see if they carry these items.
Well, yes only Christians because you have to swear on the Bible. How can you sm
swear on something that you don't even believe in?
Besides, the latest polls show that 80+% of Americans believe that they are Christians. That's a huge majority.
Also, if they were not Christians and were running, I would certainly like to know their personal values and what their value system is based on if it isn't the Bible. Again, they swear in on the Bible, that's not just opinion.
i swear sometimes i wonder how people have NO manners
it's really weird to me you know... just the common courtesy of some people is GONE, or never there in the first place.
Also what happened to please and thank you ?!!
I swear by my computer gloves.
Foam strips along the bottom do the trick. I'm just symptomatic on one side, so I've sometimes worn both gloves on that side, one inside-out, in order to keep me from hyperextending as well as hyperflexing.
I'll never be without these for work, ever.
btw, f you're kind of in between sizes, order the smaller size, as they do tend to stretch out over time.

Folks who I talk with swear by Sporteze...
Minimal Bounce Bra. These are kinda active chicks though who ride horses and stuff, so they need the milkers to not hit them in the face when doing the crazy things that they do on the backs of horses. They appear to come in front zip and pull-over styles. I'll put the link below to one of the places I know that sells them.

For sore neck & shoulders I swear by - sm
Flexall Extra-Strength. (Used to be 'Flexall 454'). Has a menthol/linament kind of smell (which I like), but who cares - it works like a charm for me on those tight, stressed-out muscles. Not only when working, but when going to bed at night, too. Cat hates it, but too bad. I LOVE it.
Also helpful was buying an adjustable, keyboard try that attaches under the desk. By typing with the keyboard basically in my lap, it opens the angles of my elbows (pain in those is from bone spurs, when elbow is flexed to 90 degrees or more). Also, having the keyboard low, with very nice soft, cushy wrist-rest, takes the load off my shoulders from trying to hold my hands higher.
I change chair height frequently during the day, also get up and move around. I make sure to get out and exercise (jog, walk, bike, skate, go to gym, etc.) once a day, too. Got a chair that is adjustable 5 ways: seat tilt, seat height, back height, back tilt, and lumbar support. Keeping the room warm helps, too. When thumb & wrist arthritis flares up, I take aspirin & wear typing gloves to keep hands warm.
Last, but not least, I keep knee chondromalacia at bay with Osteo Bi-Flex (glucosamine & chondroitin) daily.
Do you or did you cuss/swear in front of your children?
I was at Walmart the other day and this mother and her teen age son walked by me I could hear her say "well I ain't taking no more S$$T off them the A$$H##&s !How can people talk like that with their children!
AWFUL!
i swear i've already shoveled a ton of snow
let's see, 20 pounds (at least) a scoop, x 100 scoops = 2000 pounds... HATE IT!!
I swear, I should be working. But, I just got done combing through the new Sam's Club Christmas s
catalog. You would not believe the kind of stuff they have in there now! I was impressed, shocked, thrilled, all at the same time. Now they have "packages" that members could buy and here were your 3 choices. You tell me which you'd choose, okay? Remember, this is just for fun because obviously none of us are millionaires (or at least I don't think we are :)
1. The Tony Bennett package which includes: Round trip tickets for 4 to London, VIP passes, meet Tony, autographs, 5 star hotel, gold VIP seats, food. Price: 44,000.
2. The Super Bowl package: Round trip tickets for 4 to Miami, tickets to the game, party with Dan Marino, 4 signed autographed jerseys, limo rides, 750.00 per person for spending money, 8:00 tee time at NFL golf game with an NFL player (OMG, how many husbands would be in awe of this??), 5-star hotel, amazing seats to the game, PLUS - 57 inch plasma t.v., surround sound for your home, camcorder, digital camera. Price: 77,000
3. The New Cessna Mustang (BEAUTIFUL), personal jet: Price: 2,400,000 (or something like that). To the person purchasing this: You must wire transfer 275,000 upon agreeing to buy it. This is MY choice, especially since I have a son who lives 4 states away.......
But, how much does a personal pilot cost? How much does it cost to "store" your plane?
Ahh, the lifestyle of the rich...How nice would it be to get your hubby the NFL package for Christmas???? It just doesn't compare to a tie, does it? Sigh..................
Well then I guess there are a whole lot of misguided people out there who swear by the smothering! n
x
Oh, my dog is Michael Jordan. I swear she's part deer!
We just moved to the country, but when we lived in town, she jumped the fence I don't know how many times. When she wants in the house, it's not enough to simply scratch on the door, she has to jump six feet in the air and basically throw herself into the door.
I just get so frustrated. I was at friends house who has a golden retriever and they have a little bell hanging from their back doorknob and when their dog wants out, he simple rings the bell and same thing on the outside of the door too. I was incredulous. How did they get their dog to do that?!?!?!
I swear by Gold Bond Hand Cream. or Bag Balm. sm
I keep a tube of the Gold Bond right next to my keyboard. I am ALWAYS putting it on. It has a really light smell. I use Bag Balm at night with a pair of cheap cotton gloves I got at our local mission store. I also use Bag Balm on my heels aned feet both winter and summer as they are so dry they will crack and bleed. I have also heard of something called "Cornhuskers Lotion". I tried it once and it was too thin and runny. Or perhaps the lotion with the fisherman on it. Norwegian something or other.
My sister did
My sister changed her OB in the last 2 weeks, but it was because she moved. She had an appointment to see an OB in her new town, went in and took her records, did some paperwork. Then, she went into labor the day before her appointment was scheduled. So, she met her new doctor in labor and delivery.
But, it was her 4th baby and the first 2 were born in military hospitals, so she was up for anything.
How are you supposed to contact your OB if you go into labor if they don't have an answering service? This is very strange.
My sister-in-law comes
About every 3 weeks and does a good cleaning. 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom, kitchen and living room. I pay her $40/visit. Hubby's bathroom can get quite bad, so she gets a $5 or $10 tip if it's worse than reasonable. Then I just run a vacuum and keep the dishwasher and laundry caught up between.
I hate housecleaning and she needs the money, so it works out for us.
My sister is one
Had to break any ties with her 8 years ago. She recently contacted me and still does not understand while I will not speak to her. She is upset that she has missed my children growing up. But they are the reason I finally broke ties with her. She was bringing too much trouble and grief to my family and saying inappropriate things about our mother to them. She is 53 and still is fixated on all the wrongs done to her when she was 5. I finally said enough is enough. Have never been happier.
My sister and I both used it
I had good results initially, but then not so much. I didn't feel it was worth the money. My sister had fantastic results and it even faded a lot of her scarring on her chin and jawline.
My sister says it does (sm)
She lost about 40 pounds recently and says Hoodia helped her a lot. In fact her doctor told her to continue taking it. She has diabetes and is very overweight. I am trying to lose too! I have used hoodia before but didn't think it helped much. I just started taking Cordyceps mushroom capsules and am going to try Curvelle as soon as I can find it available somewhere. Good luck to you!
My sister . . .
made her hungry all the time, bloated and gained 10 pounds. Other than that she feels way better.
me ex-sister-in-law
totally different situation -but sounds the same in that maybe the child's mother is in denial????
I'm with ya sister....
unless you want predispose your child to becoming a ne'er do well, not to mention looking like a girl. Might as well get the mullet for the complete look!
My sister
has PMDD, and she takes Prozac with great success. I believe I just have PMS, but Prozac is not a good drug for me because of the side effect of apathy I get. If you take it and find yourself wading through dirty laundry, you'll know what I mean, LOL. I'm dealing with perimenopause, so I tried a soy-based estrogen-like product. It helped some, but then I changed to one that contained black cohosh. Wow, did I feel great. No PMS at all. Unfortunately, I lost my appetite and have stomach discomfort and dropped a significant amount of weight while taking it.
This site promotes it:
http://www.connecticutcenterforhealth.com/black-cohosh.html
However, I also read a site that said it could cause GI trouble and even a liver condition, so I quit the black cohosh a week or two ago. My appetite and weight are still not improving much. I'm 5ƌ and my weight is fluctuating between 118 and 120 now. I can do physical activity fine, but yet I'm having a feeling of low energy in my chest area and the stomach discomfort continues. I just had a bunch of lab work, which was all normal. Really weird.
Yes, my sister does it, and
it's quite fascinating (and addicting, apparently). She has traveled from AZ to VT and also WI to check headstones. If you go to her Facebook page, she actually has photos of family trees or something - I haven't clicked on them yet. I just saw them today.
My sister does.
I figure I have to go to the grocery store for fresh veg and fruts once a week or so anyway so I just buy what I need. My sister likes to buy in bulk and picks up extra when at a warehouse store and keeps it in the freezer. She says the milk is just fine after. I'm sure we have drank it too and had no idea. She goes through about 5 gallons a week with her family.
PS - about my sister sm
Diagnosed at Thanksgiving, chemo for Christmas, dead by Easter. No symptoms. Don't let it happen to you. I care about you. Give yourself the best holiday gift ever (not to mention the people you would leave behind who love you).
don't you think you sister would want you to
x
Your Sister Would Want You To Have Them
I think she would be pleased that her husband gave them to you. What an incredible act of love. :-)
P.S. My condolences on the loss of your beloved sister. Mine passed away 2 years ago and I still miss her very much.
Right on sister
Well said
My sister....sm
is one of my best friends. Not to say we didn't have to work to get here, because we did, but it was worth it.
Actually it was me and my sister
who joked about writing the whole note (about what an awesome gift) and neither of us minded at all. We just like to try to get laughs.
Of course, I don't know what was going on in everyone's head, but I would think the only people who might have an issue with such a thing is if they didn't know the person (whom the shower was for) very well or something.
My opinion is that it is a silly thing to get hung up on, and I certainly didn't mind it at all!
my sister does hair
and one of her clients bought her a jogging suit that says "i run with scissors!" she thought that was too fun! of course, depends on the personality.
I would never sue my family. We are out the $$ and out my sister.
Maybe I could've forgiven her for putting her hands on me, but now she is 100% lying and saying that didn't happen. This I don't think I can forgive.
I'm done with this and am going to move on. Unfortunately, my family dimensions are different now and that is sad.
Best wishes for your sister's
speedy recovery. Not a nice diagnosis especially at this time of year, but hopefully prayer is the answer. I don't know you, but will think positive for you. I think it is great that you have come here for support, and I think you'll find that the people here will be very supportive. God bless!
I do have a half-sister out there somewhere?
My father was married before he married my Mom, but his ex-wife ran off with his daughter. We have never met her, and he never looked for her!
