No NYC hotels but....

There was a story on one of the TV newsmagazine shows (Dateline NBC, 48 Hours, one of those) a while back about the widespread bedbug problem in hotels all over the place, even WAY upscale hotels.
The thing is, my husband hasn't been on a trip in probably three months. So the only thing we can figure is the $@$#%@#$ critters were hibernating or whatever and the spring warmth has brought them out - but you would think that having the heater on during the winter would bring them out, too. It is very frustrating. My poor husband is eaten alive by the things. He stripped the bed, washed all the bedding and dried it on the hottest dryer setting, he sprayed alcohol on his mattress and box springs and carpet....so far he hasn't had any new bites but it's probably just a matter of time. He is calling the exterminator today. Sigh.

Hotels
I'm looking for a good website to search for available hotels this weekend that lists reviews. Any recommended? Thanks.
Find hotels at this site. sm
http://new-york.hotelscheap.org/
Good site to find hotels.
Also site for NY information on public transportation:
http://www.mta.info/nyct/
Better yet, if you can stay in Westchester, Queens, or other counties outside of Manhattan, it may be cheaper.
When you get there, try to find a place to park and take public transportation. There are very few places to park in the city, and the parking lots are expensive.
They have a Metro card that saves you money when you take public transportation, plus there's too much traffic. It will take you a while to get to your destination if you drive.
Have fun! Was there in November and had a ball.
try hotels dot com for info on Gatlinburg/TN
all LV hotels that have casino have the smoke
even in Florida - the casinos you can smoke at - at least in certain areas like the bingo.........not the dealer tables at the Seminoles but at every other casino locally in S. Florida, there is smoking allowed.....Hard Rock Resort and Casino - smoking allowed.
In Las Vegas, if there are casinos in the hotel - you will be dealing with smoke.
However, there are plenty of smokeless, casino-less places......enjoy!
I stay at hotels but maybe the person
just enjoys your company.
problem in NYC were PRICEY upscale hotels
I feel so bad for your situation.....the hotels affected in NYC were VERY upscale places....bed bugs can happen to anyone really...it's like the lice thing - years ago, it was due to dirty kids but today, in public schools, lice is there because the kids work together and they jump from head to head.....it's not a socioeconomic problem today....it's a public school problem....same thing with bedbugs....I think....
Have you googled this? (I'm sure you have, though).....the bedbug issue?....just a though anyway.
I hope you get this resolved really rapidly...your poor hubby!!!
