I had a cat before we met, and her favorite thing was bringing me mice she'd caught. Won't work here, though.

Sooooo wrong, but nice try...you have no idea who I am. LOL

I just saw a nice idea in the paper today, for mother's day
There is a scenic ride on a railroad train for a couple of hours, and during that time, they serve dinner on white table cloths, very elegant, like in the old movies. I don't know if your town has this, but this is in Florida and goes across and along a scenic old Florida river. Plus a nice dinner with all the trimmings which is a tad elegant. 19.95 for the whole dinner and fare. Like I said, I don't know even if you have something like this by you, but I saw it in the paper and hoped someone would think of giving me that for mother's day this year :)
great idea!! Hope you find a nice peaceful place
He gave you those children, much to be thankful for......I had similar experience only he's still around (living)...good marriage until it went bad, drugs involved, and I divorced him....but children have a relationship with both of us....this is fine....so sorry for your loss too....
Loved your comment above about the MJ fields, the place you think he'd be happiest!! *lol*
What a horribly sad week...sm
What a week it's been. I have a feeling I'm going to be remembering this one for a long time to come. I just can't believe how many people have died this week. Not only celebs, but in Smalltown, USA all over the country tragic things are happening this week. I'll be glad when tomorrow comes. It'll feel better to have a new start. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who are having to deal with all this tragedy.
Children Receiving Chemo DO get horribly sick
Joel was on both Zofran and Phenergan round-the-clock while on his first regimen of chemo (it included Cytoxan and Vincristine, can't remember the third drug on that one), and the nausea was horrible and barely even touched by the Zofran. Before he relapsed the first time, when he was on the Cytoxan, I would cry through my shower every single morning, praying for his suffering to ease. The next regimen of chemo was ICE (I remember the acronym, but not the ingredients on that one). The ICE regimen was easier in terms of nausea, but it wreaked havoc on his immune system and on his blood counts. One of his chemo buddies was diagnosed with the same stage rhabdomyosarcoma the same week Joel was, and that poor child was even sicker than Joel with all kinds of life-threatening complications. Weirdly enough, I think that child survived, and I'm sure his parents believe it was worth the suffering now.
By my point here, Laura E., is that just because YOUR child didn't have nausea does not mean that everybody's children escape the horrible side effects.
Furthermore, I also have typed pediatric oncology reports (I eventually had to refuse to type peds onc. because it would leave me in tears every time), and the reports don't really explain the side effects the parents and children are seeing on a daily basis. The reports themselves just cover overall progress issues. The doctors don't live with the parents and get to visualize the experience at 2:00 a.m., 4:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m., when the Phenergan wears off and the kid has nothing left inside to puke, but keeps puking anyway.
I'm sorry I've gone off on such a rant - but IT IS THE DECISION OF THE FAMILY TO CHOOSE WHICH TREATMENT REGIMEN TO FOLLOW.
Could be allergic to anything in your home.
Dogs can be allergic to mold, dust and grass and a list of other things. Your floor cleaner, bathroom cleaner, laundry soap that you wash her bed in. Getting her tested might be expensive but would point you in the right direction.
Also, if you are familiar with alternative medicines and know of a reflexologist....that would be the best way. Good luck.
I am allergic to Percocet...
so they gave me Tylenol 3 after a C-section, which was pretty much worthless (this was after they tried to give me Percocet). I finally ended up on Demerol, but again, they acted like I might just be trying to score better pain pills.
Doncha know cats are allergic to
closed doors?
sounds like an allergic reaction....
could you be allergic to pecans now in your life? Otherwise it sounds like aphthous ulcers which may have to do with something else you might have eaten that was acidic...Did you drink something citrusy with it?
Have you ever heard of allergic shiners?
These are dark circles caused by allergies. Maybe you need some loratadine.
allergic reaction to snobs
In this "economic environment" I find it really hard to put up with the pecking order of snobbery, when I know these people are doing terrible financially. How do you reform a snob, especially one that doesn't even have enough money to eat?
Artificial only for us - I'm allergic to "real" trees.
.
Reminds me of a lady allergic to a certain fish, well
she went to eat dinner one night and they had ran out of the fish advertised in the front line and substituted the one she was allergic to. She got, ate, almost killed her. My question is if a person thinks might be or might not be allergic to a thing, why take a chance on it? Same with question of dog allergy to aspirin. If possibility, sure wouldn't give to arf-arf.
Usually not hair people allergic to, it is the dander

AWW thanks for putting that up I love cats but son's allergic
I don't think I will be able to have a cat for at least 10 years. He's on shots but I don't know if he will able to tolerate them. He went over to a friends's house last night that had cats and he didn't have hives but they made him sneezy/sniffly.
Anyway thanks for showing us those beautiful babies!
I am allergic to cats, rabbits and dogs BUT sm
I live happily and allergy free with my miniature poodle! She sleeps IN MY BED and I don't sneeze or wheeze, my eyes don't swell, my throat doesn't close, NOTHING. She woke me up her favorite way yesterday morning...rubbing her short top knot all over my face and chin while she is snorts so I wake up giggling. Not a sneeze.
In all fairness, she is bathed at least once every 2 weeks, sometimes weekly. I groom her myself (as in shaving her) and I don't have problems.
Poodles are under rated for intelligence especially what are viewed as nervous, little yappy miniatures. Poodles are only like that if they have morons for owners. I respect my poodle's intelligence by believing her in abilities and teaching her patiently. She is so well behaved it is not believable! When my kids were here for my daughter's wedding, my younger son was very surprised when I gave my dog a direction in 2 words only (Her name and NO!) pointing where I wanted her to go. There was no sneaking behind my back, no trying again, no being told twice, she was perfect. Her owner is not a moron and she is not nervous.
Don't disrespect and underrate a poodle!
Sorry, I got off track, but I SO LOVE MY POODLE!!!!! This woman's best friend is her dog.
or youcan say that you are allergic to scales, but only in public!..LOL!...nm

How about my husband being allergic to codeine but not Vicodin sm
and being told by the dentist that he couldn't possibly be allergic to codeine since he had taken Vicodin in the past without any problems. They gave him Tylenol No. 3 and his face swelled up, and hands and feet blew up like sausages. To top it off, he is allergic to Benadryl and has to take Claritin for allergic reactions, which takes longer to start working. They just acted like he was trying to score some pain pills.
Years ago had a mixed breed (1/2 pit) and he was allergic to the carpet! sm
We tried everything and finally had to put in outside. My husband built this beautiful kennel for him. He actually thrived outside! I missed having him to snuggle with, but seeing how his health improved outside it was the best for him.
What a nice response by a nice mom
What a gracious, well-adjusted response to a rude, obviously maladjusted poster--Hard to imagine someone with such an empty life and such a petty spirit that they would take the time to post criticism about a kid's feet! (Some people really have major issues, LOL!)
BAD idea! Terribly BAD idea!
This could not be worse of any idea. People need to worry about their own bodies, not what other women do! This is supposed to be the land of the free, but people are trying to turn it into the "the land of the free as long as you agree with me." It's a medical procedure and no one else's business period! For some women, it's a hard enough decision to make without having other people tell them how they should do it!
If you do not believe in abortion...great, don't have one, but mind your own business and leave other people alone that need/want to have one! Again, it's none of your business what someone else does.
I don't have any children and don't want any. While I always use birth control, that's not 100%, and if it failed, I certainly would get an abortion without hesitation. I much rather have women get abortions than bring a child into the world that they don't want and mistreat or that they can't pay for and stick ME with paying for it! There are enough leaches out there having kid after kid they can't pay for, and we tax payers are footing the bill. Enough is enough already!
How about all you people that but your nose into other people's business and don't want these women to have abortions pay my share of taxes too since you don't mind paying for all of these unwanted children!
Nice to know I'm not alone ...
my son is 20, and is finally taking his road test in 2 weeks, and even at his age I'm scared to death. Have been riding back & forth with him to college, lately I've been reading a book while he drives to be sure he isn't depending on me to watch out for things for him.
He has been learning on and off for years, one minute he wants his license, the next he couldn't care less. But I guess it's finally time now. And I do feel he is much more mature at 20 than he was at 16, but for most kids it's hard to get them to wait.
I'm not as nice as you, but
I recently tried to say something really nice to a person at church I admired, and who had just had surgery and was finally back at church. I said something about missing him and caring about him and he seemed offended. Everybody seems to love my husband, though he doesn't go very often, but they seem annoyed with me. Not sure what I did either.
I have a cat I got when she was 1...nice with certain
She is now 3-1/2 and she always hisses at my daughter and her fiance.....it's really not nice, and it's always ongoing, and I *think* she (the cat) may be jealous. I never had a jealous cat before. *lol*
I had a male cat for 13 years who died in 2004 and he did hiss but not at the daughter (but then she kind of grew up with him....)
hope it gets better with your little furkid...(cute!!)
It's so nice to know I'm not the only one
I have three children and have bottle fed all of them. With my first, I was so determined to breasfeed. I "breastfed" my daughter for 3 1/2 weeks. She always cried and I thought she was just colicky. Come to find out I was not producing enough milk and I either needed to supplement with formula or bottle feed all together. Well, I went home and cried my eyes out feeling like a terrible mother because after her first bottle she hardly ever cried again!!!!
It is so nice to know I am not the only one that had a problem like this. I have always felt so bad that I could not breastfeed. I do not think that other women should me made to feel that way. Breastfeeding is a wonderful thing, but it is not the only way to have healthy children. I was bottle fed and doing just fine and so are my three children.
I met her once - she was SO nice!

Very nice
But I'm in zone 7a! It might survive here, with southern exposure, but it would be iffy.
My hydrangea is just about to bloom, though - the blooms are somewhat similar. I thought I lost it over the cold, cold winter but it came back and has little florets all over getting ready to burst into bloom.
it's nice you appreciate her this way
there are so many nasty ones at that age that care only about their own image, no compassion for others. My daughter is like yours, too, and she cannot stand all the snotty immature ones - who raises kids like that.
nice!
have you ever heard of kicking a person when they are down? your posts are disgusting. maybe you did need your dad to give you some better manners. we are all thrilled that you have such a wonderful life. personally, wonder what you say to them when they are upset, scrape their knee, make a bad grade, wreck their first car, or are in a bad relationship one day. hope you respond better to them than you did this poster. shame on you.
Nice guy
I love random acts of ego boosters. :-)
nice guy
Just yesterday, my daughter and I (she drives with her permit) were taking my dog to the vet for a routine visit, and our dog was in the front seat belted in with his harness leash, with my daughter driving and me in the back seat. On the way home, we stopped for an iced cappuccino at a drive-through, and the young guy giving us our order kiddingly remarked to my daughter as to the fact that the dog is riding in front, and she "makes her friend" ride in the back seat. My daughter replied that it was her "mother", and he said, "Wow"! It made my day, but I take care of myself and have always looked younger than my age. I am a humble person, but I know I am attractive. I strive to always be in good health and in good shape. That was a nice "pick-me-up."
Isn't it really nice to use?!
I've only tried the Bare Minerals and only use it when I go out, which isn't often, so it's lasted me a looooong time. I have skin that peels, breaks out, or gets a rash from just about anything I put on it--even baby moisturizers. This has been the only makeup I have been able to use without any of those side effects. It doesn't have any smell, any weight to it, and yet it magically covers and stays put. The only bad thing I've had happen is when I wore it and worked up a sweat this summer....it did make my face itch but nothing bad happened. I highly recommend it to anyone with uber-sensitive skin like mine and I'm glad you've enjoyed it too--no matter what the brand!
What a nice looking dog.
as an owner. We can love our dogs and have our peace at the same time.
Not nice, Kit because
I work 14 hours a day, have a husband, have four people who live in our home and find this a trial because our home is too small for what we have, especially since my mom died and left me all her stuff. I can't seem to get rid of enough stuff to make cleaning easy or something do-able in a reasonable period of time. On my day off it takes my daughter, husband and I eight hours to clean and I am still not satisfied. I have massive amounts of laundry that I do each day besides work and cook all our meals too. It would help if we could afford to remodel the house (it is old and has no storage areas and not enough electrical outlets), and I already have three sheds in the back yard that are full, so I am at a point where I either have to get a loan and remodel, move to a larger house with storage and more outlets and a couple more clothes closets would be nice. It would be wonderful if I could have a pantry again. I especially abhor my kitchen which is small, designed by a man who must have only warmed up leftover takeout, and has NO ROOM for people who actually cook food and do dishes and own appliances. I am too tired to move and too scared to get a loan, so I keep on staying here and the time it would take to clean it to my satisfaction on a daily basis would ensure that I could only work 4 hours a day and then we would all starve because of lack of income. It only takes a couple of minutes several times a day to check the internet, so that time saved would be of no help to me. I only watch one TV show a day while we have a lunch break and after I eat the lunch I fold clothes, unload the dishes and start dinner while watching the other half of it, and have three a week that I watch in the evening (usually I record these and watch them after I go to bed at night) so that time would not be saved either. I have delegated, my daughter is an immense help, but still I CANNOT CLEAN MY OWN HOUSE to my satisfaction in a reasonable period of time by myself. Sometimes I feel like just leaving it all here and moving away without anything and starting over in an EMPTY HOUSE. That, I could clean, no sweat!
That was so nice!
Thanks Desperado and the same to you also!
you obviously were being nice
and letting her delay the 2 wks rent...but if she is going to start 'acting like a renter' -- whoa! that sounds bad -- i'd say its time to cut your losses and ask her to leave.
that was really nice of you (sm)
Can't say what I would do, but that's a very lucky dog to have you as a neighbor. A friend of mine was in a similar situation. Her dog was poisoned by an annoyed neighbor... or someone... She lives in the country and the pen wasn't even near anyone's property, but dogs are vulnerable to any mishap when left out on a long-term basis.
My dogs howl when they hear the garage door when I come home from an errand and many times get the neighbors' dogs howling...
They'll also howl on cue. My daughter looks at my male and puts her head up in the air like she's howling, he he will immediately start and then my female dog joins in. It's like a little tune. The rest of us in the house (and probably the people next door) are not amused by this...
You are a good person.
very nice (nm)
x
Sure it would be nice
but there's no reason we can't discuss those here.
Seen any good one's lately? not me. too expensive to go to the theater.
Oh, but I did see the lake house...wow! That was such a good movie! I watched it about 5 times in 1 weekend!
NICE!! Thank you! nm
s
Nice pic!
Now I'm looking forward to summer! It's 17 degrees here and windy.
Plus, I'd love to look that good in a bathing suit!
must be nice to not need $$$
what a braggart!!!
No, this was definitely not nice. Not toward
my mom and also not toward me. But now, as my sister took all the money from my mother, she has to care for our mom in case something bad happens, she might even pay for our mom's stay in the nursing home if her retirement funds run out.
So I just let it go, it's my sister.
It looks nice, but I would have liked it more without this
white fluffy thing on top.
How much do you ask for it?
And do you make it only in black/white or also in other colors?
Very nice. I really like the third one
You really should start doing that on the side. Go to craft shows, etc. Sell on line. Who knows? Might be profitable for you. Good luck.
How nice of you!
You made my day! Hey, wouldn't it be cool if all us animal lovers could form a rescue group where we MT'd and rescued together so we could make money and then spend it all on the animals! LOL The group could be called:
MTs To The Rescue!!!!
Thanks, nice of you to say so....nm
ss
i think its nice when they say something
like that or just thanking the transcripitionist for typing, etc.. some they just do their dictations & are done, so it is good when someone seems to really care..
very nice
First of all, I certainly hope I never remember what you wrote because it is crass, rude, irrelevant, and it is incorrect. My children are all adults now with families of their own. And we are all very close and have wonderful and loving relationships.
That is really nice to hear.
x
there are nice people out there!
I have a son, a Marine, 1st.sgt. serving in Iraq. In his BD package I put in a jar of Mrs. Renfro's Jalapeno Green Salsa, HOT. I received a request a week ago from his unit, wanting more, the jar was nearly gone! I ran to the store, bought a case and shipped it. The nearly went out of their minds with thanks! I thought it would be nice to let the company know how much their product was liked, so I sent an E-mail, describing everything. A Becky Renfro E-mailed me back immediately, wanted the address of my son and his company in Iraq...and they too sent a case! I'm so glad there are people out there that appreciate our troops and want to be good to them. I support the troops 200%, but not the current administration. Anyway, I thought it was a lovely, lovely thing for them to do.
