Dear Next Door Neighbor
I wish you would keep your animals in your own yard, and BYW, those are the rules of our community. Your animals have killed a bird in my yard and I was told by the association to a) shoot them with a B-B gun or b) call animal control on them.
Next door neighbor's teen having parties
I am sooo sick of the next door neighbors. It is a mom and 2 teenage daughters. They have been having a party going on 5 days now. Tons of cars over partially blocking our driveway, loud talking and laughter, underage drinking, throwing their litter (beer cans) onto our side of the yard...etc. I just want to sit out on my porch and not have a gang of teens a few feet away. What kind of mom lets this kind of thing go on and these kids (boys and girls) have spent the night every night. I am sick of it. I thought it would end with today being Monday and the holiday weekend being over. But they continue to hang out over there. I just want peace and quiet like it is usually here. What would you guys do? I would love to call the cops on them but have never done anything like that before. I just feel like this is ridiculous especially since we live in apartment homes and not houses so our duplexes are very close together.
Our local Value City is having door busters from Midnight Thurs -5 AM Fri. nm

My neighbor who comes home tomorrow after SM
a six-month tour of duty fighting to keep us all free! He just got married before he left in November and everyone is doing little dances all over the place!!! GOOD FOR YOU, John Michael.
A local nursing home might appreciate a visit.

Ours attend local college PT and still live at home. Hard to make ends meet "out there" on

why do people go door to door to talk about their religion?
arent they settitng themselves up for confrontatoin?
We normally do have the door locked but the garage door was open...

Door to door sock salesman
Okay, so yesterday a little old man shows up at my door. Now let me say that I do not live in a neighborhood, really. I live on a major highway so you actually have to drive into my driveway and you can't really get to the next house without getting back in your car and driving there.
So I open the door and there's this little old man there with pairs of socks in large ziplock bags. He says:
"I'm raising money for a cancer operation to get cancer out of my stomach and I want you to buy these two bags of socks."
I say, "I'm sorry, I don't have any cash in the house, but good luck."
"How can you not have any cash in the house?"
"We use credit cards."
"You can't just use credit cards. Doesn't your husband live with you?"
"He's at work. Good luck, have a nice day."
"Well when he gets home he should have cash on him."
"Nope sorry, we're not interested. Have a good day."
I closed the door and he left.
Odd....very odd. But here's where it gets even more odd.
Today he showed up AGAIN. Only this time he didn't come to the door. He sat in his car in my driveway and beeped his horn. My mail lady does this when we have a package so I opened the door to go out, thinking it was her. The dog scooted out and while I was trying to get him back in I realized it was this man again......BEEPING for me to come to his car to sell the socks, I guess. I was so mad that my dog got loose I looked at him and yelled "WHAT DO YOU WANT??? I don't need any socks today!!!" Picked up the dog and went back in the house and slammed the door. He didn't get a word in edgewise. I'm hoping he won't be back.....I was down right RUDE to this man. I never speak to anyone that way. Hopefully he won't be back. Steve is concerned that he showed up a second time and even more concerned that he wanted me to go to his car this time. He wants me to get a plate number if this man comes back.
I am 40 and I still have my Baby Alive doll - packed away in my attic. Love her! sm
Gave her to my daughter when she was little and she loved her - now all her dolls and mine are stored away in the attic for the next generation. I can't get rid of them....don't know why... too many memories I guess. I love dolls.
Did that, seeing the physician, that is
and was told the symptoms of detached retina, should I ever have these, were sudden flashes of bright lights and then to get to emergency room or physician ASAP. Floaters, I know, are quite a normal thing in older patients but my question was if anyone had ever had any kind of treatment for these. I have been to a physician, told them what I was having (as have typed on them for years) and not given any kind of treatment for them, just wondering if any others were suggested treatment for them. Thanks
Have you tried asking the physician
your husband is seeing for his disease? Is there a large hospital in your area that may be you could call and ask if there is anything offered online either directly through them or they could suggest a site? I wonder if you Google the rare disease you might find some sites. I think you are right though to gain support online since it is the wave of the future.
I had it done once by a physician, but
was told insurance would not cover them as it was considered cosmetic. I had some on my neck and told them with my collar rubbing them they bled. They took scissors and snipped them off and guess what? I have done them since that time myself. No anesthesia, no antibiotic so figured what the heck, sterilize with alcohol and snip away.
I told the physician
I had them, have typed on this so long knew what they were and sure enough, have. What I am asking is there anyone out there who has had any sort of treatment for them or is this just a bothersome thing that continues. TIA
He has talked with his physician,
I could talk with his physician, have absolutely no issue there, not afraid to discuss nor shamed to discuss any issue with sexual impotency or others. No family physician here for me but that same would apply as above if I had one. Like earlier, love him dearly as he does me. He in fact was telling me earlier (started tearing up just saying it) how much he loved me and would do anything in the world for me. All together now, big ahhhhhhhhhhh.
physician call
I wish you the best of luck and prayers go with you. If it were me, I would also seek a second opinion before undergoing invasive procedure and check for best possible surgeon if needed.
Just back from the physician, told him this would be a
very quick visit, did not want the Synthroid any more and asked for and got the Armour instead. Told him since first diagnosed no difference in any symptoms except none of the intense itching like at first, still weight, dry skin, hair and so on and so forth. I will definitely pay Sallys a visit and get what you are talking about. I believe in trying what others have used and believe in. Thanks!
Maybe FOREVER! That's encouraging. Don't want HRT and physician
said long term HRT is a thing of the past, which I didn't know. Now, they only give them for 3-6 months. Mine went away for a couple of months, but back again, 15-20 a day, but no night sweats. I thought this stuff only lasted a year or so.
If the original physician is her family
doctor they will find out because they always ask for medical records.
No, but it was free for me; a gift from a very generous physician. Oh, and (sm)
it was douched with holy water and blessed by the Pope.
My physician never brought up about hysterectomy, I told him
I wanted to see about this but this situation different. I had ongoing bleding that could not be controlled and then another person in medical field told me how their friend almost hemorrhaged and not being able to stop the bleeding in the nighttime. I immediately called my physician and asked for a hysterectomy. So glad I did. This was in 1986 and loads of typing then on AIDS patients and how blood could be responsible. I did not want a transfusion at that particular time. My view only. No problem with the surgery at all. Now there are other means of controlling but past childbearing, saw no reason to just have the periods.
The physician errors too numerous to count
I wish I knew why people don’t listen- could probably make millions if I found out. I went to have CT scan done 1 day - before having it done I said now that is for so and so- nope, that is not what the order read- read for another part of the body. I then asked them to call the doctors office to verify the part to be xrayed. I cannot help these igits that work out here now. I changed my regular physician because of poor doctoring. I NEVER EVER SAID anything about soft stools. Where he got that from who in the he.... knows? I said she was THROWING UP. Thank goodness not huge mistake there as I did not give her the Imodium but 2 times, otherwise she would have the runs from each end.
I worked for a physician doing overflow work,
made less than $600 for last year, so they did not send me a 1099 because if you make under $600 you do not have to report it and neither do they, so therefore I did not have to claim the small amount I made from them.
Since this is a serious health issue, may be best to speak with the physician...sm
taking care of your in-law. None of us that patient's physician, and warfarin and the medical conditions it treats can be very tricky and dangerous. The best advice may come from the poster whose husband is on the same medication, not from Google. I am not bashing anyone or saying people don't know what they are talking about. We are intelligent people who do have vast medical knowledge, but this type of question really should be handled by the particular patient's doctor, the one who knows all of the history, any food allergies or reactions, etc.
You most definitely should speak to someone if you will even be remotely involved in the patient's care when she returns home. Someone needs to have an objective insight, and sometimes when a family member is sick, the ones closest to them do not understand all the instructions and such, especially someone who sounds really ill. Your knowledge could be very valuable to them.
Don't be afraid to ask the doctors and nurses anything. That is what they are there for. They treated this patient, and they have the responsibilty to make sure the patient gets the best care possible at home to help with recovery. Our thoughts will be with you, and let us know how she is doing.
See link inside--my physician's office recommended this.

We had to do it twice, but it does work.
When the physician personally calls you, red flag time
I just had an MRA of brain this past week and nephrologist called today, not in and he left his cell phone # for me to call him back. He said an artery showed up as bigger than should be - I asked aneurysm and he said, well he wanted to know about my seeing a neurosurgeon ASAP and he said he would call and talk to 1 he knew (if I did not have one of my choice, nope didn’t ) and get me in just as soon, hopefully tomorrow and then nephrologist called back in about 5 minutes to verify he did speak with the neurosurgeon and appointment tomorrow. Now I have just started to draw my full social security, still working, planning vacations and yes that is pleural and crud!! Maybe good this anomaly caught in time, would hate to stroke out or worse. I had been going to another neurologist, started having some twitches in my face and also nystagmus in my right eye here lately. I was knowing something was up. I will collect that medical license just any day now. Wish me luck with tomorrow....
Physician called, red flag lady back from visit and on my getting M.D. license
First of all when I called the neurologist's office this morning (this was the appointment my nephrologist had so quickly set up for me last night, himself-) the neurologist's office asked me if I could come on in then instead of waiting for my appointment at 11:30. Oh, lordy me- I just knew it was time to get my affairs in order, write that will, etc.
The physician after my saying about 2 sentences to him asked if I were a physician. The great news is the brain aneurysm is very small (see I also was goggling brain tumor before I went in, you know how some of us are) and he said it was a watch thing, no neurosurgeon would touch it at such a small size. You talk about relief. I told him I could hug his neck. I went in with such fright and that was all basically eliminated. Thanks to each and all who said they had me in their thoughts.
Buy a home of my own - not a palace, but more of a smallish home on a large piece of land. (nm)

Anyone move from a single family home to mobile home? sm
I own and live in a house in a midwest city in a bad neighborhood (wasn't that bad 11 years ago). I spent the day waiting for the plumber to come and jackhammer the foundation (slab house, no basement) to find a leaky pipe that is flooding my DD's bedroom. Last week, it was the electrician with quotes for costly repairs.
In the meantime, I've really been thinking about selling out and moving into a mobile home. Has anyone done this before? Is a mobile home in a decent park less of a hassle than a regular house? I'm so tired of cutting the grass and spending $$ to fix things and tired of old flooring and cabinets, etc., that are just too costly to replace. I'm single with no man to do these things for me and I can't afford a mortgage on a newer house in a good neighborhood. Some of the pictures I've seen of the mobile homes look really nice and modern on the inside.
Any advice and comments appreciated. Thanks!
Well I figure I can make my own hours & be home when the kids are home (sm)
I worked PT in an office for a while but spent most of my money on childcare in the summer. Full-time in an office was just a nightmare and I felt like I missed a whole year of my children's lives. I want to be in control of my schedule so that's why I'm looking into the cleaning thing. Never thought I would want to do that but live and learn! Some of the most intelligent people alive work as carpenters and similar things because they have learned what's really important in life. Whew....off my soapbox now :-) Good luck to you!
please do not let the door hit you on your bum
Right next door,
Henry, close to Eagles Landing - we can visit....
My neighbor
dropped by with a beautiful gerbera plant with bright orange flowers, the kind I like, some notecards with watercolor art of a Siberian husky's profile, and a kind sympathy card with a big, fluffy guardian type dog sitting watch on the front.
She and I both lost dogs at Christmas, and she had spent a little time with CJ, so she was extremely sad that I lost CJ so soon. It was very thoughtful and kind of her. I was quite touched.
ARE YOU MY NEIGHBOR?
Nice, I have one of those outfits too. I call it my "Puffy Ninja" outfit. Kind of like a black Pillsbury Doughboy, right? I noticed that when I fall down while shoveling it makes it kind of hard to get back up with all those layers. My husband took pity and bought a snowblower for me to use and put racing stripes on it to lure me into wanting to use it. Phooey on that. I'll make hot chocolate for him while he snowblows to his heart's content. He can enjoy those racing stripes and cold icy water going down his back while I stir the chocolate in my fuzzy slippers. Doesn't California look good sometimes?

Move - the sooner the better.
Your Neighbor is too MUCH!!!
First, what state do you live in? Some states have a one-party (the caller) notification and others it takes the authorization of both parties to tape a phone call. In such a state if you tape a conversation without the other person's permission you can be in deep doo-doo!!
It sounds like management isn't doing what their suppose to. I live in a two-family apartment and have a lot of unused land around the house so I have no idea how the rules are in a large apartment complex work. If management won't help, then I would go to the Sheriff and get a restraining order. Sounds like Nosey Neighbor is more or less off kilter by the alcohol intake.
As for the pup, call animal control. If she didn't license her dog, in many states it's six months) She might get either a warning or ticket. Plus, I think it would be a health hazard to allow an animal to pee and poo in a common indoor walkway.....isn't it???
You don't want to tick management off to the degree that you might have a hefty rent increase or even an eviction.
Let me tell you about my neighbor...sm
I do live in the country. I live on 10 acres along with my parents. My parents live on the other end. BUT my dad had this Mexican guy that worked for him. He let him move his junky camper on the property not very far from me. It is not in my yard but pretty close to it. I would say 150-200 feet over from me. Well I have always had privacy. So I don't like having someone who can see everything I do. Well he used to sit in his camper and peek out his blinds at me when I was in my yard. I would see him. I did not like him at all. Well he had a girlfriend who lived with him. They fought all the time. Every time they would fight almost she would come to my door crying saying he was hitting her and she was afraid. What the heck am I supposed to do? They are illegal so they don't want the law out. Then finally I got to where I didn't answer to the door so she quit coming over here. I guess she got the hint. Well he went back to Mexico. Thank God! She didn't and my dad feels sorry for her and lets her stay. She is nosy. She took it upon herself to have her mail delivered to my mailbox without asking if it was ok. Just gave my address as her own. My address is on my box. Then since she was using my box she took it upon herself to go check the mail and at the same time plunder through mine. If I don't beat her to the mailbox she steals the salepapers. Oh yes. If you ask her about it she says she hasn't. I have seen her. She turns her music up loud so when I go in my yard sometimes I can hear it. She is a hoe and has strange men over all hours of the night who stay until the next morning. She has ended up getting pregnant as a result and still has men come "visit" at night and she is 7 months pregnant. Disgusting! But my dad won't make her leave so either I have to deal with it or move. She is no where around his house so of course it doesn't bother him. I have lived here my whole life so I don't want to leave.
My neighbor uses them as
golf holes in his yard! lol yes i am serious! Atleast yours hides them in the garage. lol
Just don't answer the door.
Just don't answer the door.
Door jams
They make little squared off cat scratchers to go over the door jams, this might save your husband some work, love my cats, have 3 couldn't live without them.
Just now getting up to lock the door?
My husband can be home- doesn' matter- I always keep my doors locked. I see people on TV news who are broken in on, murdered, assulted, raped - they said where they lived didn't think it would happen there?? Happens everywhere.
Actually, my side is to the door. sm
Can't put the desk anywhere else but in this corner.
You either need a door with a lock or - sm
to set up some kind of boobie trap that scares them first (I.e. something popping out at them when they enter the room). A taste of their own medicine would do them good
How about locking the door? Better yet...
ask them to call you first. If you can't ask them, have your husband ask them. It's YOUR home, isn't it?
I wish I lived right next door to
help you with your project. That's my kind of fun. :oD I wuv a good rottie. Can't imagine playing with 3 of them.
Message on Door
I am a word nut. Transcriptionist in me I guess. But the Family Dollar Store at the corner of my street has a hand written sign posted on their door saying "We No Longer Except Credit Cards". I get a chuckle every time I go in there. Should I tell them or not?????
door even if no answer there, either.

there was a knock at the door, our then 3 yr old

A neighbor said is was the best thing
She looked better than ever once she had the surgery. A good friend (male) said he could only eat mashed potatoes and chicken for months until diagnosed. Once the gallbladder was removed, he felt great and was back to work as a plumber (heavy lifting and all) in what seemed like a short period of time maybe even 6 weeks. Tough call, but I'd say you'll probably be better off having the surgery and they "be gone" once and for all. God bless.
