Nexium and Prilosec sm

are the same concoction, only one is over-the-counter.  Neither worked for me.  Protonix has been working for me for a year.  They did you a favor.  The Protonix is great.

My son's insurance would not pay for Nexium (sm)
but it would pay for Protonix (none of the others worked anymore - Zantac, Pepcid, Prilosec).  He has GERD and Barrett's.  Anyway, he has been taking the Protonix for about 3 years now, and it is still working great!  He never had to go on the Nexium.  But I guess each person might be different.
Does anyone use Protonix for GERD? Is it going to work just like Nexium?
Ran out of Nexium and can't afford to get a new Rx, so my neighbor gave me a bunch of Protonix.  Just wondering if it's going to work and if there are any contraindications. TIA!
