I am not surprised they were able to accomplish the rescue. Have you seen those shows where they detail what exactly the training they go through entails and you watch people actually going through the training? It is brutal. Those guys who make it to the end are the cream of the crop. Once again our military comes through! I am so happy about the good outcome!

Thank god for our Navy Seals - See message
I saw that on the political board earlier (don't know why because it doesn't deal with politics), but this was the comment I wrote....
The Navy Seals are true hero's. Willing to go into danger and even die saving other people they don't know. Navy Seals, Police, Fire, etc. People who selflessly lay down their lives to protect and rescue the innocent are the true hero's and I hope they are commended for this.
I think it's excellent and what an ordeal he and his family must have gone through. Glad everyone is safe.
What about Old Navy and the Gap? SM
are they okay to shop at too...I'll wait while you ask your teens!
You guys have given me some great suggestions! I knew I could count on you all!
Thanks sooo much!

Just because you're in the Navy....
doesn't mean you'll be on a boat! I'm the poster above with my husband and sister both getting out of the Navy fairly recently, and neither one of them was EVER on a boat. I really wish people would become more educated about our armed forces before making comments about it. Plus, there are only 2 hospital ships in the Navy, so it's very likely she would be serving at a Navy hospital/clinic or in a squadron that doesn't even go on a boat. Out of all the other Navy folks that lived by us, I only know of one that was ever stationed on a boat.
Why the Army? She'd be much safer in Navy
My husband just completed his tour of duty in May with the Navy and never went anywhere near Iraq. The only places he went where Key West, Guam, Hawaii, and Nevada. My sister was also in the Navy and got out almost 2 years ago. She never went to the Middle East or anywhere dangerous either. I know the Navy has been overstaffed recently though, but they can always use people in healthcare and may let her join that way.
Navy? On a boat with thousands of hor*y men? I don't think so. nm

I like Navy. I have had nice comments when I wear it. nm

My 15-yo son shops on line at Old Navy and Hot Topic, shoes.com. And he's cool. As for haircut.
You rock! Thanks.
Good sprinkler for a noodlehead like me.
Rock On! Same here..
after 20 years of carting my kids, their friends, sports equipment, saddles, and of course helping half the planet move -- my youngest just got his license and I got myself a ragtop (2-seater) Saturn Sky. I may be old and pudgy, but I'm having a BLAST and it's all mine, mine, mine! Enjoy
PUGS ROCK!!! (nm)

sheet rock
I have seen this painted and I have also seen people do sheet rock mud over it to smooth the lines. We have paneling that I hate. Bought MIL's house. Hubby loves it. Too dark but in great condition We are just going to put sheet rock on top and go from there.
under rock I suppose...
sorry, just never heard that one before...pardon moi!
Rock of Love
I just got done watching. I'm so glad Lacey is gone. I really like Jes. Most of the other women that were on the show were just too trampy for me. I have the feeling he's going to pick Heather though. I love all the shows you mentioned. How about I Love NY? She's from here in Syracuse. Feel free to email any time to talk about the shows. The same goes for JMR down below.
Now that is very sweet. Rock on, ma!
:)
Better climb under a rock,
or have all the posts been there for years? Nothing new. Liz Taylor stole Eddie Fisher from his wife, then had affair with Richard Burton (who was married)- hmmm guess they were way past their prime (also dead) to make to DWTS- this happened in the 60s and Ingrid Bergman (in the 40s) had twins with a guy she was not married to (married to someone else.) Like I said, better just go to a remote island and be alone for it not to happen.
Schoolhouse Rock
I love those! I want to get them for my 7-year-old son. I learned so much from all of them, especially the preamble to the constitution. Your kids are gonna enjoy them!
Fraggle Rock
I love Fraggle Rock. We got a couple DVDs for my friend and I got some for myself and made the kids watch it. :-)
FYI - Rock Band
We were going to trade in 1 guitar for the rock band set and were told the Rock Band still has a lot of kinks to work out and the sales person advised us to wait until after this Christmas as it will probably be the big thing for Christmas and the problems will be worked out.
I would love to get the 80's one too! I didn't know they had that! My husband was a DJ in highschool and I bet he would love that. Ok, that's now on his xmas list. lol Thanks!
I must live under a rock...
as I did not know that either! Not that there's anything wrong with that
What rock do you find these kind of men under?...
You are not respected in your marriage. Tell him to go by himself, save his own money and take your kids somewhere YOU want to go while he is gone. Please don't say that other than this he is a wonderful father, good provider, yada,yada...he has no respect for you or your opinion, which cancels out any good attributes, IMHO of course....
Remember Schoolhouse Rock? I just got the 2-set DVD from sm
our local library. My kids are loving it! They are 3 and 5 and 11. All boys. The 3 year old loves it the most.
I can't believe how much I'm learning! I just learned a few things on the song "I'm just a Bill, sitting on Capital Hill!" HAHA
Oprah . . country or rock?

Between a rock and a hard place - HELP!
Okay, back towards the end of last school year some mothers decided to have a coo at the elementary school and take over the PTO for this coming year from the ones that had been running it. Shortly after that, the now ex-pres moved in next to us. The neighbor across the street is now on the "new" PTO. Somehow, they didn't elect a president for the coming year though and they came knocking on my door "oh you'll be great, we'll do all the work, we just need you to run the meetings, etc". Well, I let the principal know that I would and now am regretting it. I have a full-time job plus type part-time at night (switching to just weekends when school starts). My husband is gone during the week so that leaves me to take care of kids, homework, games and practices, etc. I get calls and emails all day long regarding PTO. I thought about just sticking it out for the school year (I do have the flexibility to be off or leave early, come in late from my full time job) because I really want to be more involved in the school since my child is going into the second grade. Well, the final straw was a few nights ago when a bunch of us parents were sitting in our driveways watching the kids playing. It wasn't until after the ex-pres comes outside (she hasn't talked to any of us since all that happened), that the neighbor across the street starts talking PTO stuff at a level that the ex-pres can hear (I never replied to her about anything). My husband went ballistic! We came in the house and he said that was uncalled for, we need to move, and that he's very upset about me taking on the role of president. SO, what do I do now? How do I gracefully back out but not get shunned from being up at the school and helping out with some activities?
The other story with that neighbor across the street that has bugged me this week - everything my child gets (we are not frivilous by any means), she makes sure her kids get the same things, even down to the exact same pair and color or tennis shoes for school, clothes, bicycles and now, the yard ornaments that we have had in our yard, i see she has bought some and are now in her yard also. I cringe now when I see her but I hate to keep my child from playing in the front yard just because her kids are out there (same age). Any ideas on this too???
What a crappy week!!!
I need room under the rock, I didn't know either.
no msg
Reality show fan too! What do you think of Rock of Love?
LOL! And I Love New York from Flavor of Love! Surreal Life. lol. These are the best entertainment these days if you ask me. And there are so many I can't even remember all of them.
Also love Top Chef, America's Top Model, American Idol, etc., and that hair show called Shear Genius with Jacklyn Smith. Hope that comes back.
I had to get something similar to TIVO so I could record all of my shows!!!!
spent NYE playing Rock Band for PS2
a lot of fun though discovered I'm never going to be a drummer (or a singer) :) So I guess I won't quit my day job.
Were you at all aware of the 60s and 70s? That's exactly what the bulk of rock stars WERE doing!
fffff
I love an alternative rock band called
Minus the Bear and so does my 15 yo son.
lol I thought of Brett Michaels and Rock of Love
or whatever his show was called. lol
Adam Sandler, Michael Jordan, The Rock (sm)
How's that for variety? LOL!
My 7th grader is doing the Schoolhouse Rock as a musical this spring! nm

I will look for your Folger's Instant Straight up tomorrow when I go!
You have lost in your election, please go climb back under your rock
My daughter is in finances, owns her own home, goes to college part-time taking extra courses to advance her career. Frankly, my dear, I don’t know what you think but one thing I do know is please leave and go back to the other board- they might like you there. I based MY vote on the man, not the color of his skin but my daughter who is black could not make up her mind. What about that don’t you understand? I told her repubs did not have her back- too many old white folks. Face it, big L for loser.
She is a 68-year-old ROCK STAR, still bringing down the house. 'Nuff said. nm

Everybody is making it out like she's the first rock star to have a drug problem and win an award
Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Eagles, INXS, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, The Doors, and on and on and on. If we only listened to, or gave awards to, the clean and sober musicians, our musical legends would be a completely different list.
One year really punk rock station starting playing Barry SM
Manilow, Sammy Davis Jr., The Carpenters and goodness knows who else. I never listened to that station, except for that day, only to hear stoners waking up at 2 pm and calling the station asking what was going on.
**Anna Nicole Smith** collapses, unresponsive at Hard Rock Hotel in FL.
