Breast feeding.....
I had a child via a surrogate and I breast fed her. Sometimes just suckling the baby will stimulate milk supply but it is a very long and time consuming process. Also, I used a system called Lact-Aid that uses a small bag that holds formula and has a thin tube that is near the nipple so the baby suckles both the tube for the formula and you for the stimulation to trick your body into producing milk. And yes, I did produce some although not enough for nourishment. I used the system for several weeks just for the bonding.
Being a wet nurse and breast-feeding a 6 yo
Competely different. I have been a wet nurse. I have several children. I've been a gestational surrogate. I have NOT, however, breast feed a 6-year-old. That is disgusting.
As far as the breast-feeding thing sm
There are a few herbal supplements and other medications that women can take to stimulate lactation. I was on an infertility board several years ago, and there were adoptive mothers doing this. It is difficult and often does not work. There are also ways to simulate breast-feeding (special tubing connected to bottles that are situated in a way to get the infant to suckle) that can also help lactation.
Same problem - but breast feeding so I cant take those sooooo
I try to take a little break in the morning for a shower and keep HEALTHY snacks on hand to crunch. Peanuts, rice cakes and sip pop and sometimes I give in a take a power nap of no longer than 15 minutes and I feel much better.
Breast feeding past a "normal" age
You are right some things just should not happen - such as other people judging how long a mother breastfeeds her child. It is none of your or their business. My son is now 21 - has memories of breastfeeding and is the most polite, intelligent and psychologically stable young man you could ever wish for. He would be a blessing to any family and I believe will make an excellent husband when he decides to marry. We have a close relationship, as I do with my daughter who only BF for 6 months - at her choice. What exactly is the "normal" age? And who set that "rule" up? I would rather have breastfed my children than to have abused them physically or mentally - believe me, he was not abused in any way - if you knew him, you would only wish that your children were like him - my husband and I are the envy of all of our friends because we never had one bit of problem with either of our children because they were raised properly - and I do believe that BF played a role in their developing into responsible adults. If you want to borrow him when you are having a headache because your kids are out of control - just let me know - he would definitely brighten your day.
Do you and your daughter swap out breast feeding for your hubby
and baby also? You can nurse for awhile her kid and she can let your hubby have a sip since you seem to be so free with all this milk and family sharing, etc. I hate to tell you but I don't have out of control kids, mine are grown and no problem there. You really sound like a crackpot actually.

Received a dx today of fibrocystic breast disease. Painful lumps in my breast. Going for a mammo
towards the end of the month. Anyone have any info on this disease?
I am sure I will get flamed for this, but I...
actually find this to be kind of funny!
I don't thnk anybody flamed you, they just disagreed
with the opinion that teachers are highly underpaid. I'm pretty sure most of are glad for the teacher that won the money.
Also to YOU: Fead the whole thread. Do not jump in in the middle of a thread:
You will experience the bad side effects of Xanax, when you try to stop the intake of Xanax. Honestly, don't you notice that you are increasing the dosage on your own?
It is not a sleeping pill, it is an anxiolytic, it is supposed to lessen anxiety.
What are you so anxious about?
Try not to take it this evening, you'll see that you cannot or don't want to.
It is a highly addictive drug.
Another addicted person?
Read the whole thread, not Fead the whole thread, ..oops!..nm

What are you feeding him/her?
It can make a difference, but I suspect age may be playing a role here.
Also are you drying the dog after the bath? If not a wet dog is goign to stink since it will pick up more dirt/etc. while drying
feeding
I am doing the same thing, I put my chubby girl in the bedroom, which she does not like and feed her special diet, and then I put down the other 4 cats their dry food in the morning for one hour, then I pick it up and let chubby girl out, then in the evenings, I give everyone their wet and a few dry pebbles in their bowel and let them eat that for an hour and then I pick it all up, I find they eat way better (good thing since they only eat holistic pricey food w/human grade ingredients that I can't afford to waste) Been doing this three weeks now and I hope it is working for my two chubbies, will see in a month when I weigh them. Oh, they also get 6 treats apeice in the morning too.
Feeding two dogs
I got another dog a few months ago. I had been feeding canned and dry food, but it was getting too expensive with two dogs so I just went to the dry food only. I keep some in both bowls all the time. One dog has lost weight, one has gained! The new dog has no problem eating the dry food. Buddy eats it too, but not as much. I hand fed him for two nights and he took the food (he's not sick or anything), but I'm wondering if there is a trick to feeding two dogs. Now, tonight I put one bowl further away from the other one and he ate all the food in the bowl. Maybe the two bowls need to be further apart?
Anyone have any words of wisdom on feeding two dogs?
Feeding two dogs
My daughter went through the same thing. One dog getting fat, the other loosing weight and finally got listless. She discovered that one dog was gulping his food down and then eating the other dog's food. She started feeding them in separate rooms and not letting the more aggressive dog (Ebony) out until the more meek dog (D.O.G.) was finished. After a few weeks she fed them together to see what would happen. Ebony gulped his food down and tried to eat D.O.G.'s food. D.O.G. attacked Ebony, and Ebony never tried to steal again. D.O.G. gained her weight back and started running and playing again. Ebony lost the weight she needed to lose.
How is feeding a baby rude?
I just don't get it. How is feeding a baby rude? Usually this is the reaction breastfeeding moms get from those who couldn't or wouldn't breast feed. I never got any negative response from feeding my baby.
I didn't take my shirt off and expose my breasts to the world. I was feeding a baby - grow up!
hey - please quit feeding the troll....Thanks!
.
Does he do this at his regular feeding times?
Have you cut back not only on the amount of food but the amount of times you feed him? If so, that may be why he is reacting this way.
My dog is overweight, too, and since he has problems with his legs, the vet wants us to try to help him lose weight. She said to feed him small meals more often so that he will feel satisfied but to make sure we cut down on the total amount of food given per day.
So maybe that would work with your cat - smaller meals, more often. Worth a try, right?
Maybe you're feeding him too much bull!
:)
No, what comes next? Force feeding meds?
Example:
If I am depressed it is MY choice to take antidepressants or not. If I do not feel comfortable with them, no matter what the doctor says, I can stop it.
Antidepressants have a LOT of bad side effect and there are alternatives!
Hey, I want my post removed
because it sounds dirty, LOL.
Anyone else ever had one ovary removed?
I did and I feel much better and feel like my hormones are not bothering me like they were. I was feeling perimenopausal and feel much more clear now. I had chronic cysts and I think they were whacking my hormones up. Just curious if this is common?
Ovary Removed
I had one ovary removed in September due to a cyst. I was told that after you remove one ovary, sometimes the other one quits working. That is what happened to me. I have been on hormone replacement since last month and I feel so much better. The lack of hormones was causing me to have lots of migraines.
Had my right ovary removed
I had an ectopic pregnancy and had one ovary removed at 48 years old (I'd say pretty close to menopausal age). they said during the surgery they found a huge amount of scar tissue they had to remove and say that could be a reason why I've never gotten pregnant, so they removed all that too. They said they were unsure as to why all the scar tissue because I've never had surgery before and periods were normal, etc. I didn't and don't feel any different than before the removal. IMO I don't think it is having the ovary removed that makes a difference but not having the chronic cysts anymore as to why you feel differnt. My doctor and his partner never told me I'd have hormonal changes, or that the other would quit working or anything different. They did tell me that my chances of getting pregnant are slim to none (which is fine by me cos I don't want any kids - especially at this age). He did tell me that if by chance I do get pregnant I will most likely end up with another ectopic. Oh joy, joy. On another note I just got the best Xmas present yesterday - my period. HA HA HA.
Anyway...I did have an ovary removed and it did nothing to affect my hormones, moods, etc.
They were removed because they became INFECTED
There is NOTHING wrong with a healthy infant or adult foreskin. It does not need to be removed.
& you can thank your lucky stars that when your infected organs were removed, they used anesthesia.
I may have caused my former cat's demise by feeding Meow Mix dry (sm)
It is higher in certain minerals that can make it easier for cats (esp. males) to develop urinary crystals. I had a perfectly healthy 4-year-old male Persian who had only recently gotten Meow Mix just as a hand-fed treat, and he developed crystals, complete urinary tract blockage, and eventually complete renal failure, resulting in euthanasia. His total bill came to over $5,000 - which I am STILL paying off 6 months later. I learned 2 important lessons:
1) NEVER feed Meow Mix, and
2) Buy pet health insurance!
I have an HP - have barely used it - trouble with paper feeding
nm
I have an HP also and have trouble with paper feeding. I get sick of it. I have to keep a big
stack of paper in so it feeds okay. If not it thinks it is out of paper.
PS: Yes, I kept the ovaries. But the cervix was removed, - (sm)
which was a good thing, because on routine exam in preparation for the surgery, they found precancerous changes in the cervix. So good riddance to that, too.
Some were removed last night and again this morning
and I saw 1 last night late you probably would not wish to see where BA wished all our jobs to India.
I've had a couple removed
It was well worth it. I had a huge hole in my leg from the last one but it is finally filling back in.
I think maybe the tape could be removed, but why the other things? sm
I like Halloween, too. I love, love, love the orange lights, etc. My friend has her inside and outside decorated like you would not believe. She has a big party every year, and for the kids on Trick or Treat night (hundreds come, literally) She even has the tombstones on the bank and her friend operates the steam machine! Just as the kids approach the porch the mist comes up over the stones! YIKES! I go over to hand out candy. It is a total riot and they love it! Their parents take pictures! She has funny stuff, too. It is just bright and things making noise, etc. They just love it.
For the party she even makes a meatloaf to look like a foot! The tomator sauce is . . oh well, you get the picture.
betcha COMET would have removed it...LOL
Comet powder cleanser would probably have removed it, rubbing alcohol, and probably peroxide....
Yeah. My dad had one lung removed because of
and my sister said that when he was in his hospital room, my mom (who always smokes) and my aunt (who rarely smoked... ever...) were puffing away, in his room!
Oh, I really think you should go to a derm for that, besides having them removed safely....sm
if any look suspicious you would have the opportunity to have them biopsied for your future health. Just want you to be careful!!!
please stop feeding the troll; she evidently is full of
white collar workers only *ROFL* - what a small minded troll she is too....oh well, seems like personal problem to me but then y'all have to stop feeding the troll (her). she is also enthralled with herself *HAHAHAHA*......
Well, seems to some of us (me-me-me) that she probably, in that neighborhood of only white collar workers) is low gal on the pole - she IS her own trash.....
True Anon, but Christ is being removed out of everything and that isn't right either.
t
when I removed IE 7 it automatically reverted back to IE 6...sm
everything is back to normal now. Thanks
Mine removed surprisingly easy . . .
I was told to hold a hairdryer and get it hot and it would come off easily, but I didn't even need the dryer. Most of it came off in one sheet.
I have to have a front tooth removed because it cant be fixed anymore and has had all it can have
done to it. It was damaged when I was young along with the one beside it. Has anyone had a front tooth removed and instead of an implant had a partial or something put in for 1 tooth. What do you recommend other than an implant. I have lost a lot of bone with this tooth so it would be a very long process for an implant. This tooth has cost me a fortune so far.
Did anyone ever have a tooth removed after it was root canaled etc. and very brittle. I am
concerned about it breaking off in pieces being so brittle from all the work done on it and now is infected again. Brother, always something. It is a front tooth no less.
I did have one surgically removed from my wrist by a hand surgeon years ago.
He did a real good job and has never recurred. He showed it to me when he took it out and it basically just looked like a little balloon with a long skinny taiI. I had it done on a Friday and I believe by Monday I was back at work again and in a week or so had the stitches removed. The incision is not even a 1/2-inch long. I took pain pills for the day of surgery and probably the next day and that was it. Mine wasn't that large and was given the choice of leaving it alone or have it excised. I thought that I might as well take care of the problem when it was minor before it got much larger.
Yes I had a lipoma removed from my thigh and it came back because they didnt get all the roots out.
I still have it and dont plan on bothering this time. It might be the size of 2 grapes or something.
I have to have front tooth removed after multiple apicos on it and it just keeps reinfecting. The
tooth next to it is also not the best having had surgeries so bridging is not an option. These teeth were broken when I was a kid. Any suggestions other than an implant for the space. This is quite upsetting as I have spent a fortune on these 2 front teeth.
Anyone ever have skin tags removed? Did they come back? Mine are making me crazy!! nm

Actually, he's not a breast man
He is a realtor and doing very well. Large breasts are not what he looks for in a woman - and he knows what breasts are meant for first and foremost - nutrition. You did things your way - I did things mine - and I doubt that we will ever read of one of our children becoming sexual perverts or serial killers - I think this thread was probably very encouraging to those who did not post but have emailed me because they were afraid of being blasted like I have been - but I say - who cares - to each his own - and mine was BF for 6 years. Now you want to hear about my sex life?
breast pain
Go ahead and try the Vit E - I took it for a couple of years and didn't notice any difference, but that doesn't you won't. I did the diet elimination of caffeine, which was really rough for me, but it made absolutely no difference. I think that pain is hormone related. My GYN told me after I did a year of the no caffeine diet that they had found that almost no one responded to it.
I have been told, since my first mammogram at age 37 that I have "changes consistent with fibrocystic disease." Even after menopause, I still get breast pain off and on. My right breast feels like it has a little rock in it; sometimes the discomfort/pain/tenderness shoots into my underarm area. It hasn't gotten better or worse in 20 years.
Sorry to not be more helpful.
Breast pain
I have a very personal question. Does anyone have severe breast pain before their menstrual cycle. I literally have excruciating pain for about two weeks before my cycle. I have tried Motrin, heat, Primrose, herbal supplements and changing my diet. Nothing works. I've had a couple of mammograms which were both normal. I am at my wits end. I am questioning a hysterectomy to relieve the symptoms (it's that bad). I have always had this but the pain seems to be getting worse. I only have about two weeks without breast pain. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations. I am willing to try anything.
Thanks ahead of time.....
I had a breast reduction so do not have to even
wear 1 if I don’t want to. If I do, cannot wear the underwire deals. Used to be the breasts would enter the room about 5 minutes before I did, hated that!!
breast reduction
Double D's here -- can relate to the boobs entering the room first. LOL I have thought about a reduction -- if only I had the insurance coverage. I think the extra up front contributes to my low back problems. Was the surgery a difficult thing to go through? Is it painful?
