Was Joe suspended? I would definitely followup
with the school about this. No child should ever be subjected to any kind of weapons, especially at this age. I remeber when my daughter was in the 4th grade (this has nothing to do with weapons) and I was substituting at the school, another 4th grader was telling others she might be pregnant. Who knows in this day and age. I talked to the principal about this and they called the girl's mother and of course the girl denied she ever said this. She was also stating who the boy was and he was also in the 4th grade. They decided not to say anything to his mother and I was very disappointed in this decision. If a girl were saying this about my son I would certainly want to know. You have every right to feel that you child(ren) are safe and if you have to ask questions then so be it.
Joe was suspended for a few days sm
the boy that first made the comments about killing "Joe" --- he was suspended for the rest of the school year. (Sorry if i'm confusing). I know that kids can talk and say mean things, but nowadays, the kids have to watch what they say. I've told both my boys that (i have a 9 y/o and a 6 y/o). I told them they can't talk about killing other people and they can't draw pictures showing violence (at school). Not that they do talk about killing people.
Yes, i would definitely want to know if there was a girl out there saying my son got her pregnant. I just wonder how things will be when my kids get in high school. sometimes it's scary to think about what it will be like. it seems so different than when i was in school 18 years ago.
thanks for your input.
Son Suspended From School
Will and several of his friends were goofing off in art class. They were throwing a nerf ball at each other. The teacher told them to stop. When she turned her back and walked away, Will threw the ball at her and hit her. He says that he was trying to be funny, but it was disrespectful. It is also against Federal Law to hit a teacher. He could have be expelled and faced charges for this. I guess I'm lucky it is just 4 days.
He is going to be doing laundry and cleaning the house. If you all have something for him to do, just let me know!
there have been some kids suspended
for pointing their index finger and saying "bang, you're dead" and this is rather far above that. I wonder what type of home environment she has. Agree the school should have called you.
daughter suspended yesterday - sm
I'm a little upset here folks.
My 15-year-old daughter is a freshman this year and this high school (small town) has had 3 sexually motivated attacks in the past 2 years, all of them last year.
As a precaution, my husband and I bought my daughter a little keychain for her house key that has a tiny little pepper spray cannister. It's so small, it's only good for 1-2 sprays but enough to deter anyone from an attack. It also has a safety button on it that has to be moved into position before you can spray it but its very easy to move with the thumb. She has carried this with her since late last spring when two of the attacks happened.
Not to mention the fact that there have been several instances where the kids are walking home from the bus stop or home from a friends house when they are approached by a car of young men harrassing them. Also, there have been numerous reports of attempted lurings recently, here and in the next town over.
Yesterday, as she was getting her book bag together before the end of school, getting ready to go out and catch the bus home, she had the keychain sitting out on the desk. Her teacher happened to walk by and see the keychain laying out and picked it up to look at it. You can't even tell it's a pepper spray until you look at it closely because the cannister slips into a holder that looks like a little bear. The spray comes from the bear's mouth.
So the teacher picks it up and says something like oh how cute. Then my daughter told her that it was her protection. The teacher questioned her about what she meant and she told her. The teacher snatches the keychain, grabs my daughter's arm and marched her to the office for "having a weapon."
My daughter has now been suspended for 2 days. I'm mad. They don't keep an eye on the bullies, there are 2 kids in the school who have been convicted of sexual battery, and there was a stabbing right in front of the school about 3 years ago, where the buses drop and pick up. No increased security at the school after ANY of these attacks.
I have read the policies for the district and in the list of multiple items classified as "weapons" NOWHERE does it say that pepper spray is considered a weapon.
I plan on meeting with the principal and the district superintendant today to discuss this.
No wonder the kids here don't like this school. They don't feel safe here.
There's my rant.
40 employees in a NJ hospital suspended for leaking George Clooney's sm
medical records after his accident a few weeks ago and this even includes some doctors! But, here is George's response: This is the first I've heard of it. And while I very much believe in a patients right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers." -- George Clooney
I love him even MORE now! LOL
