My Sympathies
Please accept my sympathies to you and your entire family for your loss.
You have my sympathies.
Just keep kitty close by. We have been through this 3 times in my house. My son said it best, there is nothing louder than the silence of a dying cat.
Oh, believe me, I am with you. My sympathies.
Right now, my 7, 9 and 10 year olds are hoping for me to take them to the pool today (florida). They have already gotten up too early, screamed incessantly or screaming constantly and doing naughty should not do things. Forget about chores. Every Saturday that is a battle. When I hollar they stop listening the minute they hear the tone and it does not help. When DH is home *not here on the weekends, he works of course, he just looks with a steel gray look and goes and does his crossword puzzle in the other room. And then, I am the bad guy for hollaring.
So, what do I do? I am giving them limits. Already 2 infractions and 2 more and they go with Daddy to the pool *if he decides to let them go which he will. And I get rest this afternoon. They get an allowance. Don't do school work, talk back, be naughty, well that gets cut back, and so does computer time, TV time, etc. depending on the infraction. So, believe me it is not perfect around here but getting better. On the flip side, if they do 50% better which is on a good day, allowance gets better, chances to go to a park next week get better. As on report card, well that helps. But in the end, if mommy ain't happy, nobody happy, so even DH will comply by the end of the day. Sorry such a long note, but I am with you. Nothing is 100%, but every day we work on it and every day, their conscience builds, if that is any consolation. PS: I learn to deal with a 90% neat room from them, and I do the rest, but at least it has gotten to 90% but they do take til the end of the weekend usually and after daddy gets onto them when mommy has had it.
My sympathies - I have the same problem

I try not to use Ambien every night because it does leave me  little groggy the next day.

Will your doctor give you a tranquilizer (non-addicting type)? That will help you relax. I have been taking Xanax for years but I would not recommend it because it is addicting. I will probably never be off it unless some benefactor comes along and gives me the money to go to Betty Ford.

Also, I use a sound machine, usually set on ocean waves but sometimes just white noise ("rain" setting on some machines). If you get one, though, make sure it doesn't have bird/seagull calls on the ocean wave settings (that's taking realism a little too far and it always jerks me awake). If you really concentrate on the sound, you would be surprised how relaxing it is.

Again, my sympathies. Insomnia is NOT fun. I'm glad the majority of my work comes in during the afternoon and early evening. A morning job is not for me!

My sympathies for what is coming...sm
I know the look you are talking about. It breaks your heart. I lost my dog a few years back. He was the first present my husband ever gave me and I had him for 15 1/2 years. We have other pets, but nothing takes the place of him. My best to you and your kitty friend. Take Care.
My deepest sympathies....
As one who has not only been parted from three dear companions but also been called upon to make that terrible decision, I've alternately cursed God that their lives are so short and blessed Him for giving us the gift of their unconditional love.

I am persuaded that if it is true that not a sparrow falls to earth without His knowledge, He also extends His tender mercies to these who have given so unselfishly of themselves to us. Whether it is foolish to think so or not, I believe I will see them again.
May you have peace knowing your love will never end. My sympathies

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wonderous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful--lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wondrful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
