first semester of college. She was out of school for about 1 week and then went back for partial days, however, she was seen in the ER twice over the next 6 months. This has been 2 years ago now, and she was probably not back to herself for about 1-1/2 years and today she still gets really tired ever so often which her doctor says could still be side effects.

Not just that, as a mom with a daughter, I do not want anyone's daugher....sm
growing up to think that is okay or permissable under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES for a man to beat, abuse, emotionally abuse, intimidate, etc., a "girlfriend/wife," this scenario never seems to end up nicely, and girls have be taught that they are equal, intelligent, and WORTHY human beings who should demand, like anyone, to be treated with respect and restraint, if not love. Anger, argument, drunkenness, I have heard it all, and NONE of it excuses any of it. The "romances" are very high profile for our kids, and girls may think "wow, a beautiful talented girl like Rhianna took him back, so maybe that is how love is." Well that is the opposite of love. And my dad always told me, when I started to date, that if any man put a hand to me or spoke to me crudely that he was not worth my spit, there are many other fish in the sea, go find a REAL man who knows how to treat a woman. Off my sorry old soap box now!!
Stepdaughter calls me "SM" (stepmom), daugher calls me mom. nm
