got custody of me in the very early 60s when it was very rare for dads to get the kids. Too long a story to tell, but my mother was not fit to raise her hand, let alone 3 kids...loved the middle child (a boy) disliked my sister and I...too much competition because we were so cute! LOL...My dad worked constantly, struggled to keep me, and when my sister got married (she is 15 years older than me) she and her husband wanted to adopt me but dad said no...it was his job to do. Too many dads get a bad rap these days, there are wonderful ones out there, and whether people want to believe it or not, not all women have a maternal instinct.
