I remember Malibu Musk.

We used to get it in the colored aerosol cans, like at Kmart.  They had a bunch of them.  I remember how the locker room smelled after gym class, too, with all the different scents floating around!  Wow!

my dear friend has a house in malibu
that so far has been spared, but he is worried. I pray for everyone involved that they get this under control soon. It is so scary and devastating to me and I am in Minnesota. Would hate to be going through this myself. Despite what they are all going through, the people seem to be in good spirits. I would be hysterical. I wish I had half of their strength.

Thanks Tristen! Ya know I am embarrassed to say, but before my first pitbull Choppa I was one of those skeptical that bought into the media displaying them as bad dogs cuz u hear so much, but I fell in love with Choppa the minute I saw him & he REALLY opened my eyes up to the breed. I am thankful for him coming into my life. And I know if it hadn't been for me falling in love with the breed then I hate to say, but I wouldn't have stopped and tried to get Chevy. These dogs have opened my eyes to so many things. I mean, it is amazing to me that they can love again with all their heart after what all they go through. This is a remarkable breed & I thank God for having them in my life every single day!

I enjoyed reading about Chevy, thanks for all you have done for him, you are wonderful parents, he is so lucky you stopped for him, people like you give me hope for the animals.
We have a Chevy HHR and a Jeep sm
The HHR is the first "new" car we have had, and it was a year old when we bought it. DH also had a Chevy C-10 pickup truck that he sold a couple of months ago because it needed a transmission. The Jeep was my mom's that she sold to us when she moved a couple of years ago. We have mostly had GM products. The only foreign car we ever had was a 1985 Mercedes 300 SEL that turned into a money pit. We ended up selling it a year after we bought it and barely got back what we paid. It was a nice car for about 2 months but unless I can afford to buy new with a warranty, which will most likely be never, I wouldn't buy another one. My dad drives Toyotas now, which is so funny because he is the one who got me into liking classic cars like Mustangs, Impalas, Firebirds, etc.
My 1986 Chevy Nova....
Cars you have to actually drive yourself.

Keyboards

Coal-powered electric plants

Anything that runs on gasoline

Push mowers--come on, they should be able to make something like the Roomba, only for grass that doesn't cost more than my paycheck.

People who think I am a Satan worshipper because I decorate my yard for Halloween.
93 Buick LeSabre and 93 Chevy Silverado

The truck mileage sucks, only 12 mpg. Hubby wanted to buy a Toyota this year but with his work being so slow, he's stuck with the Chevy. He's had nothing but problems with it.

My last car was a ྙ Olds Delta 98 LS. 30 mpg. It turned out to be a flood car, but we got 5 years use. The flood didn't reach the engine. The engine was like brand new, only 45,000 miles when we bought it in 2003. I miss it. It went to the car graveyard after we took the engine out to put in the Buick above.

We always pay cash for our cars, so really don't ever buy brand new. Got the Buick for nothing because it had a blown engine and I found 3 cents in it to boot. Now that's a deal. LOL

We owned a Datsun Maxima back in the 80s, but it was a diesel and I didn't like it. Gave me backache, and the only other foreign car we owned was a ྄ Opel. That was a good car and comfortable to drive.

We always bought American.

I totally agree, my Chevy Suburban has 213,000 miles on it - sm
and going strong. Though they are a lot cheaper used now, friends got theirs for about $14K, we paid $26K, ours was 2 years old when we bought it in 1999, their's was about 5 years old in 2005. Granted we could save some on gas, and my DH is constantly trying to get me to get a new car to save money on gas. But I see little point in spending $30K so I can save $50 a month on gas. I plan on running my Suburban into the ground and then picking up a smaller used SUV or a wagon of some sort (Honda, Toyota). But I still have 2-3 years before that happens with any luck.

What TV commercial drives you

With me, it's the one for NutriSystem! I'm so sick of hearing about that "smoking hot body" and the "trophy wife!"
Every time it comes on, I want to

Anyone else want to share?

Accepted - but my MIL drives
So I keep my distance. She's a martyr at times and very gossipy so you have to watch what you say around her. SIL takes advantage of her all the time. I try to remain cordial and let DH worry and deal with her.
This drives me crazy too.
Unless you put your purse in your trunk before you leave your house, what's the point? It's obvious what you are doing and that you don't plan to be back for a while when you do it in the parkinglot of a hospital, mall, etc. I think it would be just as easy to pick a lock on a trunk as anything else, not to mention for someone to approximate and come back in 7 or 8 hours and wait for you to come back and get you then.

I hope this lady is okay. It's such a terrible thing. They need to get whoever did this off the streets.
Mine is exactly the same way, drives me nuts- sm
He does not understand why I can't keep a picture perfect house. He was raised by a neat freak so he thinks I should keep the house like his mom, immaculate. Not. We are not living in squalor by any means, but it can get messy quick with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Apparently no one but me knows to take dirty dishes to the sink, etc. Granted the house does need an overall/good cleaning/organizing, but help in not making it any worse would be appreciated. The kids help some and are slowly getting better, but there is still a lot I have to do myself and just don't have the time to do. Seriously thinking of hiring a housekeeper/cleaning service for either twice monthly or weekly cleaning. I still need to declutter but that would make my life a lot easier. Maybe you could do the same and hire someone to clean twice a month. I just wish I could take off for 2 weeks and get done around here what needs doing. I will probably take a week off of one job after school starts up again which will leave my days basically clear so maybe, just maybe I can get a few things done around here that need doing!
2 teenage drives - both boys, sm
One is in college and has not had any type of ticket. Did hit someone already, and he had to pay half of her repairs. We paid the other half because we wanted him to save for college. The second has just gotten his permit. If either of them get a ticket, they will have to pay for it, and go to driver's school. Would probably take away driving priviledges for a while on the youngest. definitely would not ignore any offenses!
As one who drives a larger vehicle (sm)

it cracks me up to hear people with large cars complain.  Since I bought my Mountaineer (2007), the price for a tank of gas has gone up about $10.  I fill up every other week, so that's $20 a month.  Unless your car payment is right to the limit of what you should be spending, that increase in fuel cost should not be putting you over the edge.  Now I understand that for those on very limited budgets who need to save every penny this can be a real problem - these are not the ones I'm referring to.

Case in point, I have a friend who bought a much larger, more expensive vehicle than they needed or could afford, and now they can't afford to sell it either because they owe so much more than it's worth.  She complains about the price of gas all the time.  I keep telling her that if she can really AFFORD to drive a Cadillac Escalade then it shouldn't matter to her how much gas is.  Needless to say, that just pisses her off.

To answer the original question, our travel plans will not change bsaed on the price of gas.  We look forward to going to the beach every year, and can make the trip there and back and do all the running around while we're there on three to four tanks of gas.

Ugh! When did weddings and births become fund drives? nm

Rachel Ray also drives me nuts with her voice.
I like the woman who does Barefoot Contessa, calm and relaxed with a soothing way about her.
I believe Jamie McMurray drives for them now and has for a while but.. my hubby would know.
I'll ask him when he gets home..
Chevy ང flex fuel - love it! Big saving on price now, used to buy Olds.

...sinks later on down the road after it drives and the grooves reappear. nm

That song drives me crazy! It keeps running through my head!

Similar situation, my hubby drives 1 hr 45 mins to work from house and sm
he suggested 2 nights a week staying at a hotel that his company would pay for if the company apartment was full. I say company apartment "lightly" as it is a room above the office and just has bed, AC window unit. At first I was hesitant but then I drove it one way in the morning and again in 5 o'clock traffic and said you must be nuts! He gets up at 4:30 am to be at work by 6:30.
How long have you noticed your hard drives lasts when you are on the computer 24/7. My computer is
doing odd things and it looked like the hard drive is getting bad.  It is about 2-1/2 years old.  Actually the whole computer is about 2-1/2 years old.
Home Alone 1, A Christmas Story, Home for the Holidays, Chevy Chase's Christmas, sm
There "The Gift of the Magi," He sells his gold watch to buy her a comb for her hair and she sells her beautiful long hair to buy him a chain for his gold watch. It used to be on "Short Stories by O'Henry" but that's long gone, long ago. Good moral to the story. I can't stand "It's a Wonderful Life" -- too depressing, especially with banks closing, too intimidating right now!!!
