Okay, so I have an issue. I have 4 tools that vacuum, 3 mops and 2 brooms. Now that I fly, I hardly have to clean at all, but I do use them...sometimes.
For a midweek slick up, I use a Swiffer, the old kind, but with a wet pad on it. For Zone week and a full mop of the floor, I found my favorite mop. It is a Mr. Clean and has reusable, washable pads that are microfiber. Unlike most mops, it doesn't leave this mark everywhere you pushed and pulled back. If one shows up, you just swivel the head and pull back again, it is gone. I don't stick it in a bucket either. I literally spray diluted Fabuloso on the floor, and mop over it. Because it gets done twice a week with a wet Swiffer and once a month more thoroughly, it is always clean. I have a dog who comes in the back door, through the kitchen so it isn't exactly low traffic, but the kids are grown. I can tell you this, the old floor always shines (and it is going to be replaced shortly) and I never have sticky spots. I am not fond of mounting up landfill waste with a wet disposable pad, so I like this Mr. Clean washable deal.
BTW, this came from a Dollar General. The mop was $7 and the pads $5, if I recall correctly. I got 3 covers, would like a couple of more when I get out again. They get filthy because they REALLY pick up and they come out sparkling clean with no extra treatment or work.
