Well you sound like a good mom to Miss Lily. I think you are setting a good example for your children as far as what compassion and love can do and Lord knows it is what this world needs more of these days. Let us know how she does after her operation.

Who is that, Miss Lily?

Miss Lily sm
A lab mix that was adopted from animal control and the OP said she had all kinds of problems, throwing up, eye infection, itching, etc. So I was wondering if she was doing better.
Miss Lily
I'm so glad she's doing better - poor baby has been through a lot. It sounds like she's already endearing herself to you and your family and perhaps she's realizing she finally has a permanent and good home! Good for you for taking such good care of her !!
Miss Lily
Miss Lily goes for her spay tomorrow. My cats will be overjoyed to have the house to themselves. lol. Wish her luck!
Miss Lily is MORE than enough for me lol
She has dog aggression issues and went after a guide dog the other day. She's getting slowly better but man....I'm a little burned out with it. She absolutely can't ever be off leash outside our yard. Ever. In fact, I have to tighten her collar up a notch so she can't slip out of it when she is leashed.
The other dog, Casey, will be recouping with me until her drains come out and then she will go back to my sister's house.
Update on Miss Lily
Just lost a BIG long post. grr.
Long story short, she has kennel cough, eye infections, skin infection and hasn't been spayed. She's on 3 pills and eye ointment and we are supposed to keep her pretty confined to the house with nothing to excite her for the next 2 weeks. No going for walks, playing fetch, nada. Keep your fingers crossed that all the meds work so she can finally live like a normal pup.
Could we have an update on Miss Lily?
I hope she's feeling a lot better by now.
Miss Lily broke my toe.
So my lovely dog Miss Lily, who can't be more than 6 inches from me at all times, stepped on the back of my pajamas when we were walking down the stairs and I fell down a few of them. I broke my toe, just a hairline fracture, and it HURTS! That'll teach me to wear pajamas that are remotely baggy lol.
*This concludes my pity party*
Miss Lily has colitis.
*silent screaming* Miss Lily (my dog for those who don't know) now has a disgusting case of colitis (we hope). She spent all day at the vet on antiemetics and I think I'm bringing her back in the morning for some IV fluids if she won't drink something soon. She has bloody diarrhea and vomiting and is just miserable. This poor dog just can't catch a break.
Poor Miss Lily!!
Your poor pup has really been through the ringer with health issues. I hope she gets better soon for ALL your sakes! Keep us posted, sending prayers . . . .
For those who email for update on Miss Lily
Miss Lily is getting more and more dog aggressive the better she feels. We've had incidents of her attacking with 4 dogs so for, my neighbor's dog and my siblings dogs. My cats are fed up with her and are fighting back instead of running so that seems to be keeping her in a check a bit more. We have a dog trainer coming over tomorrow to help me with her.
Her knee is still swelling occasionally but the NSAIDs seem to be helping. She's on special food for dogs with allergies now to see if that will help with the itching.
Prayers and good juju for Miss Lily
I hope the op goes smoothly and she is is soon home and feeling great! Have all the other problems cleared up? Poor thing has been through a rough patch lately but I'm so happy you are a good mom to her!
gilding the lily
feeling up a 12 year old by tickling her through her clothes, waiting 6 or 7 years to make a pass at her is actually, by definition, a complete scum bag, not a child molester.
and Lily's character was EARNESTINE....nm
I do. My little Lily is barely 2 yrs old. She can't stand to be alone.
But she doesn't like other cats. I guess she thinks she's human. Our previous cat lived to be 20 yrs old, and for 20 years, she barely noticed that we were in the house. Our new little one isn't cuddly. She doesn't want to climb in your lap or sit right next to you, but she does want to be in the same room. She has a basket on a window sill in my office, and she stays there while I work all day. If I get up to go the bathroom, I will always find her sitting just outside the door when I come out. She follows me all over the house. We recently left her for a week while we were on vacation. The neighbors came and fed her, but Miss Lily was too shy to come out and socialize. When we got home, she could barely stop meowing and won't let us out of her sight. Poor thing must have been traumatized!
Lily of the Valley perfume...
I forget who makes it, it's a cheap brand and kinda cheezy but my mom always wore it and it reminds me of her and springtime and is my absolute favorite. I always put a spritz or two on when I'm feeling down and it's an instant pick me up.
@@ what did I miss? lol

How did I miss it?
xx
I miss
Ideal peanut butter bars. Was an oblong peanut butter bar covered with yummy chocolate. Ideal said they discontinued it because the chocolate melted too fast in the heat or just too fast altogether.
What about Space Sticks & Shaka-puddin. Those were things I had growing up that I miss.
I loved Carnation breakfast bars - they were the best.
I miss it up there.
Used to live in Irwin for 12 years.
Go Steelers!!
I sure don't miss my periods *LOL*
Have you seen Little Miss Sunshine yet?

never miss a LOST!
We are huge Lost fans at my house! We didn't think the show shed any new light on things though. Just old stuff we already knew. They said John Locke has been trying to sabotage their chance of being rescued from the beginning, but we didn't really see anything until midway through like when he blew up Mikhail's station and then the submarine. Did we miss something else? Anyway, Locke is being so selfish now. Even if everyone else got rescued he could stay on the island by himself, so why is he trying to prevent everyone else's rescue? And we still want to know why Libby was in the institution!
I won't miss Dr. Melfi!
She's been pointless recently, though I did like the twist this week that her thinking she was enabling Tony all along. As for AJ, he's getting on my nerves, too. I'm siding with Tony's Italian therapy. Just thwap the kid back into shape!
Little Miss Melanoma -- I know somebody like that...
and she's also a total whack job.
The gulls down here are accustomed to being fed. Besides, once you are done with your stale bread eventually they go away. LMM was definitely the psycho in this scenario, Imho. I think it's kind of fun to watch them catch it in mid air.
Miss Manners, you got it going on!
Just irritates me no end reading these no sense of etiquette posts. Pay for anothers honeymoon? Here is 1 person who would not give $. If you can get an invite to someone to try and shake them down for a gift, then get thank you note to the shooken one. Oh, by the way, don’t need the correct grammer police, just spoofing on this board but not about manners- they really never go out of style and same through the years. It is only people who don’t have enough sense to get in out of the rain that makes their owns. Still tacky.
Yes, you did miss a post but why do you
consider bizarre?
Oh, I didn't miss it...
That's exactly what it is. It goes in one ear and out the other with me.
You Miss My Point
You have missed my point and resorted to attacking me personally by telling me I have a miserable heart. Me thinks you project.
My goal was to point out everyone has a different view of the candidates... some rah rah about Clinton - but she is NOT perfect. Some rah rah about Obama - but he is NOT perfect. Some rah rah about McCain, etc, etc.
You brush off her choice to stay (with far more than just infidelity - do some research) as if it was nothing. My point is that SOME people think it something. By the way - I voted for Bill Clinton... and I think he was a pretty decent president in spite of himself...
Put it this way. I WILL vote for H if she gets the nomination. But maybe, just maybe, there are loads of people who feel just as you do about Barack Obama... that if McCain or Clinton win the presidency... it will be a tragic day for this country? We are all passionate about what we hope and want for this country.
There are simply enough of us Independents, Democrats, and Republicans who have had our fill of the Bush and Clinton clans...
Maybe interacing on this board without attacking people personally is still a possibility. Try. I have a great open heart - even for you. I am sure you have one too.
Again - Peace.
Sorry, I did not miss the point..
you did. This man had been in anger management and quit after she moved back in...all of TWO sessions I think. She does not love him, she has no desire sexually, he MAY beat her again, he obviously has not respect.....tell me what point I missed! She needs to listen to herself and own feelings and move on which sounds like she is ready to do and wants to do. If you've been through this, I am sure you would understand then and only then that no therapist, prayer, God, talking it out, honesty, the list goes on and on - is going to get you through this type of situation. Once you have been beat it is a TOTALLY different story...and seeing a therapist or talking about it is not going to make it a fairy ending!!!
I miss the woods.
I haven't been able to get out in the wilderness for a while. I'd love to get my backpack together and take a week-long hike. I feel so strong and capable and ready to get things done when I come back.
I miss Hayseed..... :( -nm
How come she quit this one? I miss her, too. -nm
Did you miss the posts by the
It sounds to me like she did everything right as the OWNER and they still ended up with a dead cat and other potential tragedies. ANY breed (Not just the pit bull, but any breed) with this kind of earned reputation and documented behavior should not be allowed to be bred any longer for any reason in MY opinion. And yes it is that simple. No gray area here as far as I'm concerned.
oooh, I miss the 70's
If only we could vacation there via a time machine...LOL.
You are right! I did miss that part! My apologies!
Thank you for pointing that out to me.
No, didn't miss your point
I didn't miss your point. I'm just saying it's ridiculous for people to be so worried about what other people do and someone else's "morals." I personally don't care if another woman or man has had sex with 100 different people if that's what they want to do and that's what right for them, and neither should anyone else. It's not like other woman are using your body to do the deed with someone, so what do you care?
As far as men go, a lot don't much care in this day and age how many partners their girlfriend or wife have had. In fact, I know a few men who prefer it if their significant other is more experienced, know what they want, etc. Besides, most men are way worse than women are in that department as far as number of partners. Unfortunately, some people are still holding up the double standard that woman are easy if they sleep with multiple men and men are studs if they do it.
A lot of people (mostly other women) have forgotten that women have equal rights and can do anything they want with their own bodies and don't have to be ashamed of such. It's a free country after all, but for some reason people are still finding sex taboo or bad (or anything related to pleasure or feeling good in anyway for that matter). It might not be right for you, and no one is telling you that you have to do it, but if it works for someone else, what's so wrong with that?
I miss my kitty after reading all these...sm
I lost my 17 y/o calico a coulpe of days after Thanksgiving. She was my day to day companion, sitting on my feet and my foot pedal, head going up and down, up and down, seemingly not bothered at all. Once in a while, she would wake up startled, look at me and meow as if a question of "what did you say"? I would tell her to go back to sleep, nobody said anything and rub the back of her neck. I miss her sooo much. I have other kitties but she was my long-term friend.
How could you not? You might miss out on your true love.

Oh - I miss Fort Lauderdale (sm)
I went down there from PA in my 20s to stay with my aunt and uncle. I was there for 3 years and loved it so much. It would have been perfect if my entire family would have followed me down. I was homesick and flying home to visit so much that it was costing me a fortune. So, I came home. I miss the beach and just the smell. Darn, now I'm going to be dwelling on this all day! I need to go back for a vacation.
I will really miss the Gilmore Girls...
I guess I can watch the rest of American Idol, now. But it's just not the same.
I cried all through it, I'll miss it
:(
Mexico is jealous of Miss USA
Speaking of bilingual signs....call any customer service number, including Social Security, and what do you hear.

Doesn't matter if you're democ/repub, red state/blue state or whether or not you like or dislike Michael Moore - I'm suggesting to all, don't miss this movie, SiCKO.......worth every dime.......
Hubby will never miss the junk.
Let somebody else cart it off for you.
what did I miss - have to admit I felt
the whole season was a little boring and they have drawn out everything so long I watch another show in between actual dances- but last I heard they had put the engagement off until after the show - is there other news?
Then I did not miss the point if we are agreeing
You said doing what you want, I said do what you want so I think we are in synch.
I miss my beagle baby
I miss my beagle!! I took her this morning to have an abortion and get spayed in the meantime. I know, ABORTION?! Well under the circumstances I had to. She was bred by my pit bull. She couldn't have safely had the puppies. SO she really needed spaying anyway. Should have already been done and this wouldn't have happened. But gosh it is like your child. I worry and miss her so much. All I can think is is she ok, does she wonder why I left her at this strange place. I am sure she just thinks I have gotten rid of her. I hope she is sedated so she won't get too upset. She is extremely shy and doesn't like to be around strangers. I just can't wait till I can go pick her up in the morning. It is funny how we are so attached to our dogs. She is my baby.
Here is Miss Bea, the dog I posted about yesterday SM
Hope you can see this picture and story. She was the dog featured on my letter from the ASPCA.

Poor Poodle; Amazing Arrest
Last Tuesday, ASPCA Special Agent Debbie Ryan arrested Diana Elias, 52, at her home on East 122nd Street, New York City, on misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty. Following up on an anonymous complaint, Agent Ryan discovered Elias’s six-year-old miniature poodle, Miss Bea, in a closet, encased in a solid cocoon of matted hair laden with urine, feces and filth. Long-term lack of grooming and exercise had rendered Miss Bea unable to stand or walk; she was also suffering from an ear infection and nails so overgrown that they curled around and pierced the skin on her paw pads. Vets at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital (BMAH) removed three pounds of knotted hair—one-third of the dog’s total body weight.
“This was an extreme case of neglect, one that didn’t happen overnight,” says Dr. Robert Reisman, ASPCA Medical Coordinator of Animal Abuse Cases. “The muscles in Miss Bea's front legs had atrophied due to non-use, and her carpal joints—the equivalent of wrists in humans—became extended to compensate for her immobility. It took at least four months for her to reach this state.”
While Elias, charged with one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty, faces up to one year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine, Miss Bea is getting her second chance at life and love. After completing medical treatment at BMAH, including spay surgery and a thorough grooming, she was made available for adoption. On February 14, her new parents, Gabrielle and Giovanna Sorci, came all the way from Pennsylvania to adopt the little white dog and give her the love and nurturing she deserves—a true Valentine’s Day success story!

I know I will miss them terribly when they grow up - but sm
somehow I don't think that's the part I'll miss ;-)
I think I'll miss them needing me to help with things, miss tucking them in at night, watching them learn. I don't think I'll miss having to fuss at them - but you never know...lol
My kids are grown, and I do NOT miss it!
I love my children, but bringing them up was the longest, hardest work that I ever did. The sheer exhaustion from never getting enough sleep made everything seem more difficult. But, we all came through it, and the payoff is the amazingly wonder relationships my children, husband and I have with each other as adults. We enjoy each other's company, and I'm so full of pride whenever I see my boys out in the world doing things on their own. After all, that was our goal all along... to raise up fine, responsible adults.
So I don't miss it, but I'm glad I did it. It was worth it. And my husband and I did a great job, if I do say so myself!
