PS: Re: the puking - If your cat eats dry food, are you feeding a high-quality variety like Iams, Science Diet, or Royal Canin, and not the junk-food? (Meow-Mix, Deli-Cat, etc.) That stuff gave a former male cat ureteral calcium stones that ended up killing him. A couple weeks before he developed urinary blockage, he started barfing alot.
A trip to the vet for a blood test might be in order, too. But if it's hairballs, be sure to add lots and lots of combing-out (even for a short-hair, to get the undercoat) to the hairball remedy routine. :)
A few hairball suggestions....
Sometimes it helps to experiment a little with the dry food you are using. My kitties seem to have more hairball episodes when I give them the kind that are heavy on the poultry or byproduct content. Also, I do not give them dry food exclusively, but instead every time I feed them, I mix dry food with canned food and a couple of spoonfuls of water to form a nice thick gravy. I have 5 kitties, so I use about 1-1/2 cups of dry with about a half of a can to make the gravy and divide it up on separate plates to try to prevent over-eating since overeating also seems to increase the episodes. This gives it a more cohesive texture and seems to be more easily digested. I also think that the grease in the canned food is helpful and has the added benefit of encouraging shiny, healthy coats. You could also try giving one meal of canned and a second meal of dry (which I believe helps promote good dental hygiene) or small (half a handful) dry food snacks in between meals to encourage them to eat smaller amounts of food each time they eat.
They have a tendency to upchuck more often if they eat their meals too fast. Some more tips would be, if you have long-hair kitties, try giving them a good brushing about once a week, especially in the colder months and around shedding time in the spring.
I trained my major offender to go to tile floors and/or the garage by simply picking her up and putting her there whenever I happened to be around at the onset of the episodes and giving her a little baby talk during the process to reassure her that she was not doing anything wrong. We had a few times where she dropped her bombs in midair but after about 5 or 6 times, she started going to the tile on her own.
The hairball preparations (in the tube) are helpful also, though I have found the special formula, more expensive dry food....not so much.

Salmon
Get a nice big filet of salmom and cut it up into serving size pieces. Soak the salmon in a can of concentrated pineapple juice over night. Add water as necessary to just be able to cover the salmon.
The next day, drain (& discard) the pineapple juice. Place salmon pieces on Reynolds release foil, and top with drained crushed pineapple. Add a sprinkle of herbs (your choice, doesn't really matter because it will be mouthwatering delicious; I use a wee bit of garlic salt, a pinch of basil, and some Watkins granulated pepper) on top.
Put into oven (350 to 400 or so) and bake until salmon is cooked and has changed color. This is a big hit with everyone who tries it.
Darn. Now I have to go shopping for salmon and pineapple...
P.S. Be sure to cook at least double what you think you'd want. Folks tend to fight over who is going to get seconds...
OMG, my mouth is watering...got to go shopping...enjoy
I have 2 cans of salmon I need
to use. Anybody have a good recipe for salmon patties? Quick & easy please.
salmon patties
Ingredients:
* 1 can (16 ounces) salmon
* 1 small onion, finely grated
* 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
* ground black pepper, to taste
* 2 large eggs, well beaten
* 1 to 1 1/2 cups fine dry bread crumbs
* 3 tablespoons butter
Preparation:
Turn salmon and liquid into a medium mixing bowl. Flake with a fork, removing OR mashing any bones (they are edible). Mix in grated onion, parsley and pepper. Mix beaten eggs with salmon. Add enough bread crumbs, about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, to make thick enough to shape into 12 small patties. Roll patties in 1/2 cup bread crumbs. In a large heavy skillet over low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter; add patties. Fry patties slowly on one side; add remaining butter, turn patties and fry until brown on the other side.
Serves 6.
Any food addictives for hairball in the furkids
in your life? I have tried the put on your paw type stuff and the kids just slung that every which a way and it was a darkish color. My hubby says surely there is something you can put in their food for the heaves. Any ideas? Thanks!
Love mine
I have gotten used to strong coffee and love mine. The only thing I did not like was that it does not keep it warm and so now after pressing it, I pour it into the stainless steel carafe that came with my old coffee maker to keep it warm. I also grind my own beans, could never go back to Folgers again.
I love mine ...
I would have never thought my heavy chest could be supported without an underwire and comfortably so but this bra works great for me:
Playtex 18-Hour
Model/Style #4088
I wear a 46DD. Love this bra!
I love mine
I got one of the larger ones and use it almost daily. I love it.
love mine
I have had mine for a while but I really don't use it as much as I could - usually just for pizza and cookies. .
Use mine EVERY day!! Love it (sm)
I use it for baking crescent rolls, biscuits, pizza, put it underneath cake pans, wrap meat in foil and cook it on it. Baked french fries, chicken tenders, etc. Love it, love it. It looks awful at this point, but I love it!
Oreck. I love mine. nm

We went out together and I chose mine - and love it
your boyfriend sounds very immature. Good Luck!
Love mine. Be sure to buy one where you can remove sm
the grates (sp). I have an older one and it is a pain to clean. I've ended up putting foil on the bottom and top to make it easier to clean.
I love these cats of mine but need some help
They are clawing my 2 leather couches. I today put down some sticky side up tape and hoping maybe after they touch that it will tell them NOT to do that again but does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.
Absolutely love mine
I don't know what we'd do without it. It was well worth the money in my opinion. In fact, we're going away for three days tomorrow and we already have it set up and ready to go. Saves a lot of arguing and map reading.
Salmon with Makoto ginger dressing
This was our dinner tonight. DH made the salmon on the grill. Put it on foil with salt and pepper on low heat on the gas grill, he says. Total time on the grill was around 25 minutes (big, thick pieces), and about the last 7-10 minutes he put the dressing on with a brush. The thick part of the dressing stayed on top and the thinner part ran down onto the foil and carmelized the bottom (skin) side. We had fancy bread and sweet potatoes (microwaved with skins on) with it.
Salmon is so good for us, but the flavor is too strong for me unless it is doctored up to smooth the flavor down. This was fabulous. If you like ginger, try it.
Sometimes I chop a little onion and add to the salmon with fresh
parsley. Sometimes I will add just a touch of mustard. Any way I make them they seem to turn out good. I usually just make them with egg white instead of the whole egg, but sometimes will add the egg yolk as well. I love salmon and make it frequently for myself as well.
I love them too...a friend of mine got me hooked..
I am now on 9...Stephanie Plum is a great character. I love the East Coast references because I grew up in Philly, so TastyKakes have a special place in my heart!
Planning on using mine for chicken tonight - We love it!
We use it a couple times a week!
I love Bell's Seasoning mixed in with mine.
...along with the ol' standby's of mayo, onions, black pepper, and I line my bread with cranberry sauce.
Now I'm really really really hungry!
I LOVE mine; my elec bill dropped 50% sm
once I started hanging more than half my laundry out! Good for the environment too. I can't believe the snobbies who are ready to say you can't use one.
can you separate the flavor from salt?
no, no more than you can separate the Christianity from the Christian. why should he have to HIDE his Bible in a drawer -- because the mere sight of it offends you non-believers? now THAT is silly. and calling the word of God propaganda is very offensive. Ah, but no so much to me as to HIM. and you will one day be before that 'big guy in the sky' and wishing you hadn't been so foolish.
Vitamin Water XXX flavor and
I go through about a pitcher a day of green tea that I make with raw sugar and honey. And, of course, Welch's -- it is so good for you.
I have bought different kinds, some have flavor and some do not (sm)
I can't remember if I have tried Spectrum or not. the one I have now is Nutiva and it says "A Deiciously Healthy Cooking Oil" on the front. I have had some like you are talking about and did not like that kind. Not sure how to tell before buying though.
what flavor of herbal tea? Thunder Mountain
Thunder Mountain flavored tea has tons of caffeine so could cause some stomach discomfort. A good herbal tea for stomach upset would be Anise or Anise with Chamomile........
I used V8 on stuffed peppers too - good flavor.

Remedy
When I bring the clothes in from the line, I tumble them in the dryer briefly, about 5-10 minutes. This helps with the stiffness. (It also prevents another episode where my husband put on a flannel shirt, buttoned it all the way up only to find out there was a wasp inside!)
rescue remedy
Yup, it's good for animals in distress too - my aunt carries it in her car in case she finds a critter that's been struck by a car or something! It calms them right down.
We have a remedy for misspeaks. (sm)
If we put on our coats, even if we say the word dog or park, we can settle them down by giving them a bone of some sort. They know that if we have coats on and they are getting a treat, then they aren't going. Lets them down gently.
Seeking home remedy
I have been having horrible Charlie Horse's at night. I have been reading online that there is really no relationship with low potassium, magnesium, or calcium like most people think. The only suggestions I see are stretching or a hot bath.
Anyone have any suggestions of things to try? TIA!
Salty gravy remedy, please? sm
Lid fell off salt shaker and the salt went into the gravy pan. I scooped out as much as I could, but it is still very salty. Can I salvage this? Please say yes!
wrinkles - best home remedy? sm
Can't afford facials in today's economy. I am a sun worshiper and it's taking a toll on my face, especially this winter. I have been moisturizing with some samples of face cream, sculpting lotion, etc., but I can't afford a hundred dollars for a little jar of stuff that may not work. I have exfoliated with sugar and honey, etc., and also have a big jar of cold cream as my heels are like sandpaper. Help! I look older than my stated age and it's very depressing. I am in the north so I can't get outside either! Winter blahs have set in and I don't want to get depressed. Any suggestions?Dermabrasion is out of the question, plus I have many allergies, afraid of permanent damage to my skin.
My favorite "home" remedy is
Milk of Magnesia used as a mask. (you just pour an amount about the size of a quarter into your hand and dab it on and let it dry for about 20 minutes, until it turns white and your skin itches, and then rinse with cool water). I heard this tip years ago by the black supermodel, Beverly Johnson, and I have been using it since. It is cheap, and works wonders on those tiny fine lines. I am 50 and look about 35. Whether it is the MOM, I don't know. I just know it is the best thing I have found after trying all the expensive remedies for years before I found this. I try to use it at least once per week, and don't forget your neck!!
Anyone have a good home remedy for
environmental allergies?
My 8 y/o is getting his butt kicked between the grasses and trees. This just started a couple of years ago. Have given him children's Claritin D but not sure I can see a difference. Am also wondering if I should just take him to the doctor and see how severe it may be? He's at home today from school - no fever, awful cough, runny nose, allergic shiners.
Use in smoothies and to flavor whip cream. Switch out the sweet flavors in cookies all the time. nm

What's your favorite chapped lips remedy? sm
Usually ChapStick works for me but I've got a bad case of chapped lips right now that nothing is helping. What do you use?
I am so glad my grandmother's remedy worked for you
I called her my little brown mole- she had a garden and in the summer had such a nice tan. She firmly believed in using the Camphopenique for most everything. I did not remember it being used for mouth sores but learned that within the past year from her daughter, my aunt, when I suffered the same. I glean so much information from my elders- you just cannot beat helpful hints from people who have lived longer than us and seem to know so much. I am glad it helped you!
Get some B-stress vitamins, Bach Rescue Remedy spray (sm)
Valerian Root to help you sleep. If all else fails ask the doc for something temporary for stress. I have been so stressed out before I couldn't stand it. Best wishes to you! I hope things get better soon. Take a day off!! A mental health day! Be lazy, take a hot bath, take a long walk.
I LOVE love love shallots! I use them in everything that calls for an onion and/or garlic. Mmmmmm. n

God bless you on your path, all love begins with self-love, so you are really on your way.....sm
We should have less time putting needless labels on things, paying attention to dividing lines, and pratice more love, understanding, and humiility....we will all have things to answer for, no one is perfect, but I believe we are all precious and loved by the Lord, who knows all hearts, and has infinitely more compassion and mercy than ANY of us can comprehend. Be happy and take care of yourself, sexuality is such a small part of who we are in this world, but you have to be happy and at peace.
I love the animal channel, really love it and
my sweetie and I both watch but I absolutely, even if I know nature and the balance of, want to see small animals being killed and eaten and so forth. I know it happens but I either change the station or pick up the paper and read or find another way so I don’t watch. Also watch Discovery, love animals and love those shows!
I love you! hahaha I love your response! You can come over here sm
and kick my butt the next time I "allow" my husband to make me feel crap for whatever reason - which there seems to be many - he wouldn't complain if I made more money than him because his lazy behind wants to stay home and do nothing all day except to play golf. He tells me all the time, "when are you going to own your MT business so I can golf all day."
But, he is very mean, also. He hurts my feelings constantly and doesn't even care. He makes me drive around in his truck with bald tires and I don't like doing that for fear of a blow out and he'll just tell me, "well, don't go anywhere then." We have the money in the bank to get new tires, but he won't get them.
I love your comment, though!
And for all of you who will say, "well, leave the jerk!" It isn't that easy. We have 3 boys and I would be homeless. I only make 300 every 2 weeks MTing. We have a lovely home with a lot of space and besides him living here, the kids and I LOVE it and love each other so much.
