in the midwest, we're having a (sm)
heat wave, it's 28 degrees. Over the next week the high will be Monday which will be 1 degrees. WHEW!!!
Are you in midwest? I might know you, and I understand.

Nope, not in the midwest

Anyone from the midwest feel earthquake this a.m.
My husband had just left for work at 4:30 and the bed sharted shaking. Thought it was my cat and yelled out for him to quit. When it didn't stop I got up to look under the bed and drag him out but noticed that the floor was shaking too. I was totally scared but amazed also. I am only 28 and that was my first earthquake, just wondered if anyone else experienced it too. About 10:15 this morning we had an aftershock too while I was at work. My roller chair just kept moving away from my desk, thought maybe the floor was uneven and was sliding into a dip then I figured out what was wrong.
Went to San Francisco (sm)
Went with my husband for a business trip - He spent 90% of his time in meetings and I went sightseeing by myself. Went on some day trips with people from all over. Met people from England, a woman from Germany, and a couple from my own state. I had the best time I have ever had! It is the only time I have ever done anything like that by myself and it was WONDERFUL! I highly encourage everyone to try it at least once! One day I will go somewhere completely by myself. You can go and see whatever you want, talk to people you don't know, and have a ball!
At some stations in San Francisco, it's -

It's ALWAYS a nice day in San Francisco!

I once saw a panhandler in San Francisco - sm
finish up for the day, walk over to his new Volvo, get in and drive away. Most likely to his cushy place up in Pacific Heights or Russian Hill.
Another one once had a 'need work' sign. So a friend of mine who needed a worker stopped & offered him a job. Turns out the guy didn't really want to work. He just wanted free money.
Hope you are safe in the Midwest with the terrible storms..
that are ravaging the area. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
No snow today in San Francisco! :D
.
I've done that twice, both times to San Francisco. sm
Once in the mid ྂs and once in the mid ྌs, for about a year each time (I'd probably still be there if it weren't such an expensive place to live).
However, despite our winters with the blizzards and the weeks and weeks of well-below-zero temps, and mosquitoes in the summer that are large enough to carry off small dogs, I've put down my roots now and bought a house here in Podunk, so I'm thoroughly planted.
Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat!
I'm in San Francisco - 63 degrees, sunny, light wind. nm

Lucky for me I live in the rural midwest. Personally, I don't care about designer shoes
or pedicures, etc. The average person doesn't think about those things and I could care less what "Michelle" is wearing or who she is wearing or where she shops or if she has sleeves or doesn't have sleeves. I don't give a rats patootie about any of the superficial crapola that is the Obamas. Good God, people, this country is going to heck in a handbasket, the unemployment rate is rising, and we are talking about Michelle Obama's ugly, way overpriced shoes!
