Definitely snow in Denver tomorrow. sm
If you want to go "out west" try the coast of California. No snow there, but snow in Colorado.
We've been getting snow twice a week, another foot at least tonight...sm
wish I could give you more, up in New England we are soooo over Winter, except for the die-hard skiers, I want spring!!!! Make a snow angel while you can! :p)
we're heading to Maine in a couple of weeks
Can't wait- love the shore in the summer. What part of Maine are you in? We go to the Wells/Ogunquit area. Would love to stay at Drake's Island just can't afford it in the summer! :) Any restaurant recommendations?
Since you're selling the house, I would not go with claw foot
I think the claw foot style appeals only to a certain market, and you want to appeal to as wide a group of potential house buyers as possible. If the claw foot tub is really what you want to live with, then save that style for the house you build for yourselves.
I grew up in an old home with two claw foot tubs. They were huge and comfy, but you have to clean behind them, under then and all around them. Since I was the youngest and smallest, that was my assigned job. Ugh.
We've lived in our current home for 23 years and expect to live here until we die. The house was built in 1915, and we have an enormous tub that was installed in 1922. I love it because it's sleek and built into an alcove. At one point my husband was really bent on ripping it out and putting a claw foot tub in there, saying it would look more authentic. Well, this baby IS authentic. It reminds me of a moving train. It's porcelain over cast iron, and it's not going anywhere. We've had it refinished, and it's beautiful and so lovely to soak in.
My point is, you can look for something along the lines of art deco/noveau which has the classic, stylized, and even sort of old-fashioned look, but still appeals to modern taste as well. (And no cleaning underneath!)
You're not supposed to take Tylenol
if you consume alcohol. Don't take it if you consume alcohol regularly, and don't take it if you drink a lot of alcohol in one night.
Is that supposed to be funny? Like you're out sm
shopping in Lane Bryant or someplace, minding your own business, and some nut comes up and shoots you for no reason? Yeah, that's really natural selection... Geeze. Insensitive.
You mean we're supposed to WEAR stuff this job?!
Oh dear. That would explain this rash on my buttocks then.
I actually do have a set of scrubs I wear on laundry day. They are the most comfortable things I own but unfortunatley they are not too warm. Otherwise I can usually be found in my jeans or bib overalls and a T-shirt or flannel shirt, depending on temperatures. When I get up, the first chore is to get everyone outside to go pee and then everyone eats before I do, so I have to be dressed for that occasion. My office faces the path to the animals, and every day the daycare kids from across the road come by to see them and they wave to me through the window, so it's best that I look not totally terrifying.
you can get MREs on ebay...they're supposed to be a lot better than they were
right
You're supposed to have an exam every year. Most vision insurance
plans pay for new lenses once a year and new frames every two years. I go every two years for both and exam and new glasses because usually my frames are out of wack with loose screws and the like by the then and I just get it all at once.
However, I don't know the rules for contact lenses as I've never liked them, but I do seem to recall with my sister that there is a yearly exam required especially if you are wearing those disposable ones.
They're supposed to be a normal part of aging...yuck! Dunno if a derm doc can zap them or not. nm
s
tell the govt that, what with the wet-foot-dry-foot
Snow?! What snow? LOL I live in south...sm
Mississippi. We rarely have snow so I can't relate, but I think the snow is beautiful though. I tell ya, a couple of years ago my husband and I went to upstate New York during March or April, not sure now which. I froze to death. I seen enough snow to get my fill. It was a bitter cold too. I am not used to that. A cold front had come through so I don't know if it normally snows there that late in the year or not.
That's my 6-foot, 3-inch hubby and 6-foot, 5-inch son...
Those quotation marks and apostrophes don't show up on this board, do they!
Also, forgot to mention that the Prius is a whopping 90% less emissions than a regular combustion engine. That's a plus. The electric engine supplements the gas and so the car never loses ground going up hills, great pick up. And don't worry about the rumor that says the batteries eventually die and need pricey replacement. That's not true. There are several individual cells that are not at all expensive to replace and should last many, many miles. There are lots of older Prius on the road now that are going strong after 200,000 miles on the road with not even one cell replacement, much less the entire battery system. They are THE standard for hybrid design right now.
You can find out more about them at the dealer or by googling. The tech-geeks really like the car and put out lots of detailed information on the internet about the Prius.
I think some up here in Maine still use them!
There are some doctors that do still make housecalls up here in rural Maine...floored me the first time I typed up a report on one! I'm not talking nursing home calls either...these were bonafide housecalls, complete with description of having iced tea with a patient on their porch! I kid you not!
Speaking of "back in the day," remember how some doc's used to have license plates that said "MD" on them next to the numbers? Never see those anymore either...seems they like to stay under the radar should they drive by an accident or something.
Tom's of Maine
It is all natural and your teeth feel really clean afterwards. It is a little pricey though.
They just had one here in Maine!
Some frantic mother got a text messsage from her kid in school (I know, I know, kids having access to a cell phone during school hours blows my mind too!) who said they have police and dogs in the school and are checking lockers, backpacks, and the students for "something." Wouldn't divulge what. Some mumbo jumbo about finding "threatening" grafitti in one of the bathrooms and they were simply looking for the spray can so they could finger the perp. 100% BS if you ask me. They also wouldn't let parents in to get their kids, which just...there are no words.
Now I know why people are yanking their kids from the public school systems more and more and home schooling them. I used to think that was a silly thing to do, but ya know what? The more I read and see the more I think they are ahead of the game here. What makes me even angrier is that, as a taxpayer, this crap is allowed to go on without anyone seemingly making a huge stink over it!
I'm from Maine too!
I live in Bangor! I just had to renew my license last year, but I couldn't do it online since it told me that since it was my first time renewing it (I was only 25), I had to go in to get an updated picture taken. I hate that DMV!
maine
Hey just wanted to say "Hi", I am from Maine also.
Maine
Durham! lol, not far at all from you! Nice to meet you neighbor!
It's really warm in Maine
For the past week, it has been in the 60s and 70s here. We haven't had to start running the heat in our house yet this year, but I'm sure we will be soon! I remember last year around this time it was freezing and we were already burning through heating oil like crazy! I just wish this weather would last...
Anyone out there living in Maine? SM
An old boyfriend, who is now a minister lives in Bath, Maine. Can you tell me where it is located and something about it? I would appreciate it. I was thinking of maybe visiting his church.
Yes, I live in Maine.
Bath is in southern Maine, about an hour and a half from where I live. I don't know too much about it. It's a somewhat small town.
Not a maine coon but he looks just like
Norwegian Forest Cat, really big and fits the category, double fured, loves the water and will jump in a bathtub for drinking, carries his tail straight up but alas, he and his brother are Wal-Mart give-aways and how I love those guys. His brother is smaller, about 14 lbs.
Maine Solution to Insomnia
Shot of Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy, AKA fat a$$ in a glass.
How about Mick *MC* for Maine Coon :) lol

It has been the opposite here in Maine this summer!
TONS of out of state cars all over the place, especially on the coast. I just got back from Massachusetts last week myself and did see quite a few out of state cars.
Central Maine, near Bangor.
We are entering the BEST time of year here. Bugs are going bye-bye and the colors are starting to show. We've already had a few frosts, so the tender annuals totally got wasted. I got some firewood stacked, still need lots more, and the tractor and snowblower are lubed up and ready to go to work! My favorite wintertime activity is plowing the snow with the ATV because I'm totally queeah like that!
Your temps there in Utah would be the death of me! I'm "genetically engineered" to be comfortable in the lower temps northern New England has to offer, know what I'm sayin? ;-)
Since Maine is Stephen King's state
LOL
Oops, sorry, it's in Portland Maine.....found a link!

False Information- TAIB (Maine) is not associated with Synthescribe in any way!
just wanted to (hopefully) clear something up. Although I know this is an older post, I am sure that I am not the only Transcriptionist who searches the archives when deciding on whether to apply/interview with a company.
I spoke to Penny Jackson Pray, President/Owner of Transcription at its Best, Inc. in Maine. I asked Ms. Jackson Pray about these references, and she is adamant that she is not, nor has she ever been, associated or affiliated in any way with any other transcription company, including Synthescribe.
It's very important that, when we're making these postings, we are as specific and thorough (educated) as possible, as - in this case - a company's reputation has been unfairly tarnished.
After speaking with Penny, I truly believe that TAIB is a well-run, stable, US-based company that does not offshore.
Ms. Jackson Pray has previously made this posting, although it posted separately from this thread and may be easily overlooked:
"Please note that my company Transcription At Its Best, Inc. is not associated with any other company with this name. This is the recent posting to which I refer --
Please run from this company. This is really an undercover name for Synthescribe, which operates out of TN. They will hire you and fire all their employees without notice. If you want a stable job, don't even waste your time with them. You will only be disappointed.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT TAIB in MAINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you Penny Jackson Pray - Owner/President"
Again, I just ask that we (posters) be a little more careful and thorough in our descriptions before we slam companies; and also that, as job seekers, we make our own educated, informed decisions- based on our own research.
I have been offered a position with this company and, should I accept it, I will follow up with my experiences.
Can anyone suggest a nice name for a new male Maine Coon kitty?
He will actually be my 5th Maine Coon cat. I am getting him somewhat suddenly because someone else decided to wait for the exact color they wanted. I am fine with the way he looks - silver and white mackrel. What is a nice manly name for a cat? All ideas welcome. You all can always come up with something terrific!
I'll see her tomorrow and ask.
I'll post then and let you know.
Mine is tomorrow too!
Happy birthday to you!
Thank you, I'll have to try that tomorrow
She's finally asleep.
I have relatives in fairly rural Maine who never lock, and I feel totally safe there. nm

Ditto! They are the best...I am going there tomorrow to see family...
just as excited about the food as I am about seeing the siblings!
Leaving for New York tomorrow sm
with my family. Watch for us in the Today Show audience. I will be the one with the laptop so I won't fall behind in my work. Just Kidding.
Good luck to you tomorrow.
My Hubby had it several years ago, but back when they did the open kind. The first week was the worst for him, but, remember, that was open, so you should do fine. Just remember to take everything they tell you. Just a note: He lost well over 200 pounds and has kept almost all of it off now about 4-1/2 years later...so enjoy your new look!!!
me too i will be 30 tomorrow and still have mild acne
I've been on Depo for over 4 years, thought that would eventually help but oh no...
Alarmist indeed. We'll have to see tomorrow just how bad it sm
really is. I don't think anyone knows for sure. Could be like Thailand, who knows! Better safe than sorry! So yes, alarming indeed.
My fellow transcriptionists..for tomorrow (sm)
I challenge one of you to come up with something very interesting for us all to talk with...co-workers we are, shooting the breeze. I have gone out on a limb and told you about my strange sitings...now someone else come up with something tomorrow - please? Hayseed? Trose? Some other interesting MT? :-)
not alone, I'm working today and tomorrow
Working today and tomorrow
Talked to PS this morning. I work both days as regularly scheduled. Should be plenty of work on my accounts. I agree, more money, shouldn't complain. I work from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Already had my break today, watching the clock. I want a nap before tonight's festivities. Merry, Merry Christmas to all. Kiss and hug those nearest and dearest to you - for "they are precious in His sight."
Yep! Mine is pending now to go in tomorrow
I did e-file and direct deposit for my taxes and refund check, and my hubby's SSN ends in 03.
My mom and I are going to a craft show tomorrow...
and then my husband and I are taking the kids to Myrtle Beach in the middle of June...
My neighbor who comes home tomorrow after SM
a six-month tour of duty fighting to keep us all free! He just got married before he left in November and everyone is doing little dances all over the place!!! GOOD FOR YOU, John Michael.
thanks, it's scheduled to be deposited tomorrow
the only thing that worries me is this little statement:
You should receive a notice showing the amount of your payment. Please hold on to it because you will need it when you prepare your 2008 tax return.
Well that's certainly an interesting combo. I might try that tomorrow.
My homemade recipe calls for instant coffee, creamer, dry milk, sugar, and a tsp of vanilla, which was okay. I saw the ingredients on Amazon.com and those were the ingredients except instead of vanilla it was cocoa powder, so I made another batch mixed with the first batch and put in 2 tsp of cocoa instead of the vanilla and it turned out really good. Have to make more already. I wish I could send you some of your CCDDP.
Going to New Orleans tomorrow for one of the big parades...
Anyone else ever been that can tell me what to for sure not leave at home (other than a porta-potty!)? So excited, going to be really fun I'm sure!
Thanks everyone who responded - can't wait til tomorrow morning!

Yard sale tomorrow - how much change?
Hi, everybody, happy TGIF.
I'm having a yard sale tomorrow and hoping to raise a decent amount of $ to help buy a wheelchair accessible van for my DH. My question is this: How much change would you think I should have available and in what sorts of denominations? Most stuff will be under $10 but there will be a few higher priced items.
Thanks !
Shelby
