All your suggestions good ones. I know from experience, and have posted this before, one day you will look around and wonder where in the world did the years go. You are in your 50s or 60s and you are losing so much. Time is very precious- it cannot be retrieved once gone. We only have this time to make bad or good choices, life just runs by you so fast and then you find yourself a senior citizen.

I am married but I take myself on my own vacation (sometimes we go together) but he does not love to go like me so I hook it up with a travel group and have a blast. Traveling again this summer. Used to vacation with the kids but now love traveling where I want to go and do what I want to do and only my opinion counts. I never had an empty nester thought in my life, more like whew!!

she probably won't notice for awhile- it will probably just slip her mind. My adorable hubby called tonight to ask me to take something out of the freezer. He was on his way home, said to leave out for about an hour or so and then I was supposed to put back in fridge. He said, oh, that's all right hon, I know you'll probably forget so I will give you a call back at 5 just to remind you. He just loves on me!!!

I'm about to file an adoption petition for my granddaughter. My daughter is willing to consent to the adoption, but we have no idea (for over 2 years) where the dud is. We have to do all this stuff to make sure the dud has been notified before we terminate his rights on her (for abandonment), but my lawyer made a point. Sometimes a dud will find out someone came into money and wants to be a father for the first time.
I feel for your friend and hope she keeps a flame thrower loaded and ready for this jerk and that family. She may end up needing to use some of that money on a lawyer to keep the guy away. She will be in my thoughts.

I wouldn't want my husband to ask, either. In fact, if he did and the people said yes, I still wouldn't go and stay with them, because I'd feel like they were pressured. Believe me, if they wanted you to come and stay with them at any point in the last 10 years, they'd have asked you. I, too, live near a vacation destination, and I hate it when people ask to stay with me. They're the rude ones for asking, but it puts me in an uncomfortable position of trying to politely say no. And it seems that when I do say no, the thwarted "guest" then complains to everyone else in our social circle that we are cheap, mean and unwelcoming.
Tell your husband to crack open the wallet and pay for a hotel.

Every single one of them have had some smoke around it with the money not getting to where it was supposed to go. I did not contribute, I hardly watched, was not caught up again as I have seen things like this before. They should give a all you can give benefit for Darfur where people are being massacared each and every day. Genocide going on there each and every day. I have not seen any benefits to help them out yet.

I don't understand how you can think it is wrong for her to spend whatever she wants to on whatever she buys. It is their personal money they spend. It is not like they are saying give me those shoes and add it to the taxpayer's bill.
And in all actuality, they are saying spend, spend, spend to get the economy going.
I am sorry, I am jealous that some people still have plenty of money to spend and I don't, but I don't expect those people to quit spending just because I had to.

Mine actually is dead (at least he's supposed to be).
He remarried several times. The last one was the same age as our son. He stole government checks from his mother's senior building and tried to pin it on my son by using his address (their names are the same). They did confuse my son with him and he almost got arrested. That was after he supposedly died. Funny, nobody in his family gave him a decent burial. Not one of them claimed the body. I know how his Mommy felt about him, so that was really suspicious. My son said he'd seen him getting on the homeless people van right before that. I will always wonder if he's really dead or if he's a murderer besides a lazy thief and wife-beating creep.

I am so depressed about them finding James Kim dead. I am having a really sm
hard time grasping this that I can't imagine what his poor wife and family must be going through. I can't even move and want to read everything about them finding him, etc. if he only stayed in the car with them - He left Saturday morning to look for help and the found his wife and girls on Monday. And he was found dead today miles from where the car was found.
I guess I could thank God that his wife and 2 children are still alive. I am happy they are alive, but it just makes me unbelievably sad what he must have gone through. He had such a great will to live and yet he died out there.
I don't know if anyone out there reading this who lives in Oregon, but I certainly have zero desire to EVER venture out into the Oregon wilderness, now more so than ever. I've heard horror stories about one-lane, winding, extremely hazardous roads and I don't understand why the state won't fix that? This isn't the first family to go through something like this because a lot of maps are contradicting.
This should serve as a warning to anyone who wants to travel the Oregon mountains, especially in the wintertime - DON'T DO IT.

long distance relationship - dead end?
I've been in a long distance relationship for over a year now. About 1000 miles apart....we see each other once a month and it's great for the most part. We miss each other a lot, talk everyday, and almost never fight. We get along great and truly prioritize and look forward to our meetings.
Our only problem is....the long distance thing has no end in site. Neither of us are planning (or willing) to relocate to the other's location just yet. He feels that I should 'come home' back to where our friends and family are, where we both grew up.....I feel he should get out and experience new things while we are young.
I still want to see new places, maybe move again, experience something new again, and am simply not ready (if ever) to move back. So what should I do? Bite the bullet and move back? Does this mean we have reached an impasse that will not work? Sometimes I worry that we are on a dead end road, but I could not imagine splitting because we have such a great relationship.

At age 50, my goodness. This week has without a doubt been one for the books. They said Billy Mays on flight that landed yesterday and as it did blew out tire in front. He was hit on head but stated he was alright. They found him dead this morning around 7 something.
