I call ahead and ask if he's running late.
They'll usually tell you. Then I get some other errands done. They have said that if he gets caught up in the meantime you will have to wait.
Funny, but I find the earlier I arrive for my appointment, the earlier I get in. They must take arrived patients in if the scheduled appointment is late.
Craig Ferguson, Late Late Show
Such a great interviewer and SO handsome!
What would you do if your doc was always late with an appt and you were late arriving?
Took my daughter to our family doc today - we were late a half hour but this doc is always at least an hour behind in seeing patients. I have been going to this doc for 15 years and love him. The last time I saw him I waited over two hours. The receptionist reminded me we were late (geez, as if I didn't know that already). I apologized and gave her the reason why. She then said "they would try to fit us in." After waiting for an hour, I asked when did she think we would be seen. Another 15 minutes went by and we were called by the nurse. After waiting in the exam room for over a half hour, I took my daughter's chart with a check for our co-pay, brought both to the checkout desk, and then left. I realize emergencies do come up but I feel my time is money as I work as an IC and with sitting and waiting for the doc to show up I'm losing money. I'm already thinking of changing docs but this one is exceptional. Maybe I just need to vent. Any opinions or similar experience?
School's right, late is late. However...
*if* these things were legitimately said, about your son and your "bad parenting" particularly, I doubt you would be here posting. You would be contacting the highest school official you could right now. It sounds like you are rallying support over feeling chastised and exaggerating, frankly.
As for the book report, if your son needs to do it instead of the play, he also needs to be able to approach the teacher. I find it unlikely a 2nd-grade teacher would assign a book report, then not explain it in any way. Most 2nd-graders are doing fill-in-the-blank book reports on forms the teacher provides. Is it likely your son should already know this?
About being late, it doesn't matter if your tire was flat or you drove in a fog or it takes you 40 minutes. Children are to be at school on time.
Stop making excuses. Get the children to school on time. If someone lost their cool at the school and said these things, you have legitimate grounds for taking the next step. You are wasting time and energy whining here.
If you are not happy with the school, take your children's education into your own hands and educate them yourself, via homeschooling. Then your children don't have to be in lock-step with all the other little soldiers the schools are raising in their institutional setting.
Running...
Isn't it funny how one subject will lead into another? Do you mind if I ask you questions? - like, how long have you been running? how far do you run? How long did it take for you to get motivated to keep it up? I joined a women's run/walk clinic last year and really enjoyed it but it was in the evenings and I had other things going on, work, etc so didn't get to do it but for just a few weeks. I've wanted to start running but just haven't. They've even put sidewalks in our neighborhood now. I don't have any dogs to run with although I might could use that excuse to the hubby to get one. I can't run on a treadmill for some reason - the flooring is too hard on my feet? - i can run on a cement track though and it doesn't seem to bother me. TIA!
He had the running fits and
loved to ride the trains and probably knew loads of people all around the country so I have first hand knowledge of not always a down on your luck kind of deal. He came from a wealthy family (his grandmother gave us stock in General Motors as a wedding gift- years ago when it was worth a lot) and there were physicians, ministers, teachers and the like. He had a degree in refinishing autos, had good homes even with my brother and at 1 time my mother AFTER our divorce - the entire family loved him but that is what he wanted, left the homes and stayed out there until he really aged. My son and his wife got call from shelter asking would they take him in and the ahelter paid his 1 way ticket to their home and he has been there now for the last, oh probably 4 years. It was his own choice, never anyone elses and know from experience you can be homeless by your own doing.
Thanks everyone! Running to the store to buy
stuff now. By the way, she's 8. Sorry, I forgot to say that before. Thanks again!!
tell her if she does not stop running she will not sm
get to go with you anymore. Find someone to watch her and stick to your guns. kids need and want consistency. Make it stick.
re running to get keys
to go outside -- if you have to get keys first -- what are you going to do in case of a fire? If you have keyed dead bolts, you ought to leave them in the inside of door for safety.
Get this one, ad running here in town
It is a person supposedly in medical field and she is saying got a job at XYZ and says "see what X college have done for me." I want to call the place, tried to find a number- is that the way you want to be represented? Terrible English.
Thanks - they are running a special
It's for 11 pieces including brushes, video, etc. I'm starting a new job in a couple weeks and if I don't get it by then I'll check out WalMart. Thanks for the tip.
That ad has been running for almost a year in
our newspaper, also with the "must order within 48 hours." When I saw that, it rang a bell for another heater I did buy and was I ever sorry.
I would have checked out the company claims a little more before jumping on something like that.
Another point: You will not get the amount of heat you do with wood. Can you possibly convert your wood heater to coal and wood or even pellets?
We used wood for 20 years (Fisher stove) and I, too, was tired of getting up in the middle of the night 2-3 times. I begged for central heat in our new place and boy, was I sorry. I was always cold (for 10 years). So, last year we bought a used coal/wood burner. What a difference! I'll never go back to central heat again. That stove heats our 1500 sq. foot home and I'm never running around with sweaters on anymore. I don't have to get up in the night to fix it, either.
My son bought a pellet stove last year for his 3 story home. They love it and don't use their central heat either. It does cost a few bucks more for the pellets.I think he bought $1000 worth, while we only spent $500 on coal and the wood is free.
Just remember when others are running you
down it is something wrong on their part that they would do this. Strange but sounds sorta like you married your father with the lecturing. Good men are out there. Took me forever to have a true love.
if you want to keep the car in good running condition. nm

Running over a dog and leaving the scene?
Going on her merry way, shopping or whatever...?
Probably doesn't have animals; I agree.
I think I am running a doggie day care here sm
LOL I have 2 dogs of my own a golden and a cocker. My son and his girlfriend magically get this chihuahua (sp?). Anyway, he is apparently abandoned by his owner who moved to California and said she would be "back in a couple of months" to take him back. When he first came into the area, his owner had a "party" and the puppy who is all of 7 months old got into some pot and ate it-had to be rushed to the vet for nasty temperament changes, and wow talk about mean. He bit anything and everyone including me at least 3 times. Well, we have all been working very hard with this little tiger to bring that demon temperament under control and he's coming along quite nicely, gets along with all of us, loves to play with my dogs and run in the yard. So what's the problem? I think I have spoiled him with love and discipline. He has to come over every day now. It's so cute. All my son has to say is "want to go see the dogs?" and he's jumping all over the place. I sure hope the owner doesn't come to claim him back because he is so well behaved now. All he needed was a little discipline and letting him know he can't run the show. He doesn't even bare his teeth at me anymore. He's such a doll. All the dogs lay in front of the full-view door and take their naps in the sun.
I could see kids running through the house with sm
pieces of chicken I guess - and little greasy hands touching everything. At least with spaghetti they might sit at a table - my opinion only -
running out of minutes with a week to go sm
in your monthly plan. I have 1,000 minutes for $55, just got rid of land line 2 months ago and am very close to going over at a charge of 40 cents a minute. Geez. Guess I need to upgrade my plan.
What kind of people are the ladies above running into
I have never had anyone question why I was married or not, why I had 1 child or 2, why I this or that. Where do you live to have questions put to you like this? I live in the deep south and I am an older person and I just do not get questioned like this. My business is mine UNLESS I volunteer it.
do you have any loose neighbor kids running around?
lol.... never know... my neighbors little boy last year took his crayola scissors to my hosta's.....geeze
Regret not running off with my present husband who used to be my
friend. Yes, my friend and my late husbands friend. We started dating after the other died and if I had known what he was like then, would have left the husband and the kids behind. Never have known such happiness in my life. I wasted years and would like to have those over again- life goes too fast to waste time.
all for the sake of media, once again, running lives
I never started watching this useless gimmic of a show; typical media crap that it is.
I have sat here with tears running down my face, astonished
I had already heard the buzz about Simon talking about this person but had not seen. What an absolute joy to hear this. I thank you so much for sending. I will definitely forward to my daughter first and from there it travels on. A true jewel, she is.
Is this your Einstein-kitty running the printer?

Running around barefoot ruined my feet
Now I have to invest more money in Birkenstock's because arches have fallen. As a person ages sometimes those really good feet might come back as oh, my aching feet.

That song drives me crazy! It keeps running through my head!

Okay good news first, the running will stop at some point.
My youngest (3-1/2 now) did the same thing, and my 5-year-old never did either. I was mortified with his behavior and the worst part was my dh thought I was overreacting. Then he took the kids to the store alone one day. He came home and said "Wow Tommy is naughty in the store", well duh!!!! that is why I look like I have been through a battle when I get home from the store everytime. At about 2 1/2 he started listening and got psyced about holding on to the cart with mommy, or even better riding in one of the "car carts" that they have at the supermarket. But anywhere that he needed to sit still for I just ended up finding a babysitter until he was more calm (around 32 months).
My 5-year-old starts school this year too and she is having the same issue. She is not a shy girl by any means, but she is soooo worried about K. I think it is normal and I am hoping that she will be okay once she gets there and is involved in the activities.
Sorry I guess this was not really much help, except to know you are not alone.
I meant to type that for scars which we got a lot of from running around and falling down..the
lemon juice really works very well for fading scars. I will admit that there are some things on the market today that are really good; but from a personal (and financial) standpoint, what I learned from my grandmother does work very well for me. All you ladies have a good weekend...
I downloaded IE7..no problems.. am running XP Prof, SP2, and have genuine version -nm

Running wild all summer in the surrounding citrus orchards - sm
- Also the small town (which it isn't anymore) 4th of July parade, and how excited my dad would get about the fireworks.
- First trip to Yosemite & Lake Tahoe in 1960. Back then the park was practically empty in late August.
- Neighbors who showed Disney movies for all the kids in the neighborhood for free on summer Sat. nights.
- Halloween when I was 10, and trick-or-treating with no parents along. Kids sure can't do that now.
- The nearby thoroughbred horse farm, where we used to sneak into the *old guys'* pasture, climb aboard, and ride them around. It's a wonder we weren't killed...
- *Sledding* down hills on dried-out grass on big pieces of cardboard.
- Tire races! (Put small kid in large tire at top of hill, roll tire down hill. Resulting dizziness of said small kid was VERY funny. Tire & kid that go the farthest before falling over is the winner.)
- Building our own wagons, go-karts, tree-forts, stick-horses, bird-houses, etc. without adults to tell us the *right* way to do it. Much more fun our way.
- Playing in construction sites. We once found a HUGE beam that was eventually going to be a main ceiling beam, and with about 15 kids' help, were able to drag it to a spot where we could turn it into a GIANT see-saw. You could put about 8 kids on either side, and it went REALLY high.
- Going to my friend's house on Sunday nights to watch Bonanza - in COLOR! (Everyone else in the neighborhood had blk. & wht.)
I LOVE love love shallots! I use them in everything that calls for an onion and/or garlic. Mmmmmm. n

I've been running around all day - heard a bit on the radio, but 9 DEAD? Oh goodness. Lord,
help those families right now, God. And that entire city. I used to live there. Can't recall that mall, though. I used to go to 2. If anyone is in that area, I used to live in Bellevue (the Air Force Base there). Where was this mall in Omaha? thanks for any info.
got here a little late - but I can tell you why
she is doing it - it will only happen around mating season - she sees the reflection of herself in the door, grill, whatever - I have even known of hubcaps - and thinks it is a rival. It looks painful - but she will do it in anything she can see herself in.
Try this if not too late
Same kind of thing happened to me recently. Do you have access to an ATM? I went at 11:00 at night and deposited just enough (6 bux). It stopped a check from bouncing the next day. Maybe I just got lucky but couldn't hurt to try!
Never too late - sm
I am going back to school and I'm 39. I will be starting my first classes for winter quarter. Should have done it years ago but.... doing it now anyway.
I'm nervous and excited.
I say GO For It!
Take her to your PCP now before it's too late
Then have her committed to a drug rehab. This is going to be a long road but unless she gets away from the friends who do the drugs, she'll never get off of them. She needs help sounds like "yesterday" and I wouldn't hesitate to have my son or daughter tested and committed. Sorry you are experiencing this.
At least a "f-u" is something and she's not totally blocking you out, but she'll need your support.
I think Im late on this, but...
Why no culture and sensitivity? Thats just crazy. That should have come first and you would probably be better by now. Go and get it and get started on an appropriate antibiotic. I hope you feel better soon.
It only takes once.. and it's too late
Children have been severely injured and decapitated by passenger side airbags even at low-speed accidents. Google airbag, child, decapitation. I wouldn't chance it even once.
Sorry to get back to you so late, but
Noah was lying under a bunch of bricks, etc from the collapse. He was not awake.
I would hate to see him go. He is a cute kid. I like him. Yes, only soap world but feels like real life sometimes.
after first late check.

1st late check
Yes, but Dummy me signed a one year contract I could not get out of. Trust me, I was working THREE jobs to try to pay my bills.
Think it is a little late in the game
because at 22 she should already pretty much know how to manage. My daughter not only paid did all the bookkeeping for our family but had her own job, own car, own this and that, very self sufficient at that age. This is something you start prior to her age of 22.
Sorry, late when I posted
but I am talking about plants to grow inside that have some fragrance, nothing that takes a lot of babying because not much of a green thumb here. I have loads of green plants but just would like to have some really nice-smelling ones. At my previous home I had gardenia bush right outside my door and so sweet during the summer. Any ideas?
Well, it's never too late to fulfill
those fantasies. What are ya waiting for? lol
Two dogs and my late cat sm
My late cat's name was Mochi, which is a Japanese sticky, usually sweet, white rice. She looked like that when she was born, she was born in a Buddist temple alter, and was born after the New Year. My two dogs are Pili Pa'a which in Hawaiian sort of means stuck to you like a buddy and Hoku Kea which means white star (she is white and her name at the pound was Star).
Sorry to jump in late, but something else to try...
Massage therapy! I go every week, but during my PMS days (and I get it BAD!!) I make sure I tell my therapist (been going to her for over 4 years now and she really knows me) I am having PMS. She does some extra focus on my head and neck area for that session and I promise you it helps relax me more and does take some of it away. One time I went to her with severe cramps in tears and shaking with pain and they went away completely before I got off her table. She also tells me to focus on my breathing when I find myself getting bent out of shape. Easier said than done, I know. Best of luck to you. :-)
PS - I'm in my late 50s. (But feel 25).
;)
Diagnosed with this since the late 80s,
in fact I went in and told the doctor what to check for, had the classic symptoms, intense itching (waking me at night with urge to scratch), terrible coldness all the time, having to sit under blankets. Mine now has turned into Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I was told just a few months ago, thyroid totally gone. Now with the Synthroid, I told my physician did not want to take any more, loss of hair really bad, heard Synthroid noted for that. I asked and now on Armour thyroid and seems like loss is not as bad but still some. People on here have posted against Synthroid.
Sorry to chime in late, but YES! :-)
I have shipped cats from overseas when I moved, driven in the car 16 hours nonstop to get them to their new home, paid $1200 in a nonrefundable pet deposit, let my husband go to Guam for 15 months alone when he was in the military because I refused to put them in quarantine for 4 months, and spent probably 15K on a cat with chronic medical problems over a period of 4 years to name a few things, so I most definitely can relate with you.
maybe a late bloomer? lol nm
