You will experience the bad side effects of Xanax, when you try to stop the intake of Xanax. Honestly, don't you notice that you are increasing the dosage on your own?
It is not a sleeping pill, it is an anxiolytic, it is supposed to lessen anxiety.
What are you so anxious about?
Try not to take it this evening, you'll see that you cannot or don't want to.

I don't understand (long and please no flaming)
Are we not supposed to talk about our pets on the Gab board? If not, I'm sorry if I've offended anyone with my adopted puppy stories and pics, but for me it is a little respite to take my mind off other things and share the joy, sorrow, experiences with each other. I hope the administrator can clarify this since you asked about it, maybe we need a pet board if it's offensive to some?
I sense that maybe you are having a tough go with some things right now, and I'm sorry for that, hope things get better for you. Also, forgive if I've misinterpreted between the lines on this. I know what it's like to take a huge hit and have the rug pulled out from under and start all over again. I've been there with major "personal things" starting about 8 years ago, several biggies in a row, and there are some weeks when I think I won't be able to handle ONE MORE "personal thing" in my life when they seem to come day after day, but have to try and hang tough for others, have some major things going on right now with others in my family, but I hit the keyboard every day and give it my all. It, too, in its way is a diversion for me from some of the tougher realities closer to home and takes my mind off myself when I get into my reports. One reason why I like to come here is to see what's happening on a happier note or commiserate with others who aren't having such a good time. Someone posted somewhere once that they would someday be found dead, keeled over with their head on the keyboard, pedal to the metal, headphones dangling with Dr. XXX repeating over and over "the patient was a 55-year-old female...", something to that effect. Sometimes I feel that way and I found it rather humorous in a sort of funky way, but it could very well happen.
But I don't think I've ever been one to gripe about companies here or anywhere, if not right for me, just move on and try something else. But do find the information pretty valuable from these boards, as I think that if there is a consistent gripe or issue, it probably deserves some notice and second thought. I probably would not have chosen this career if I would have known what all the nitty gritty and future was up front, but I do love it and feel I have a strong work ethic, too, started with patient service back in the 70s as a nurse aide in the time when patient care meant "care" as in if you worked the night shift, the patients assigned to you got personal backrubs from you every evening with lotion and powder, after their enemas if needed , bedding changes, reading of correspondence if they weren't capable, etc. What a retro concept. Then on to another patient service-related career for many years and then MT. I was going to get into some of my "personal things" but it's not really important, there are so many that I'm sure have problems so much worse that I'm they don't talk about that make mine seem minor in comparison.
Anyway, don't mean to ramble, just in a ruminating mood I guess. I used to lurk here all the time, since about 2000 I would guess, and finally decided to post once in awhile in the last 6 monthts or so because I really feel there are some kindred spirits here and do enjoy reading everyone's posts on just about anything. I was too shy to post in the past much, seemed like when I did someone would interject something nasty, but I really just decided it didn't matter, quit taking it personally, everyone has their opinions, and I've always tried to live and let live and "I ain't gettin no younger...trying to come to my senses... come down from my fences and open the gate...desperado." It's hard sometimes for me to look forward and let the past go and quit wishing for things to be the way they were and long gone.
It sounds like it's really tough living in Miami cost-wise. I've been there a long time ago when I was on a seminar for another job and liked visiting but don't think I would like to live there. I have heard the prices are outrageous. I recently moved to a different state in the last year, and prices were a real shocker from where we were, haven't been able to afford a house yet, maybe next year, probably not as bad as Miami but bad enough for me!
I wasn't posting to knock you or anything like that at all. I just didn't realize that in being happy about my new puppy it would make me seem to others like a less responsible person or MT. Come back and let us know how you're doing. Sorry for the long post and hope you didn't take it wrong, just letting you know that I think there are others here, too, who are very serious about their jobs and lives, even though a little "giddy" about new furry friends, but it can be a real picker-upper at times for sure, as you probably know with your new furkid.
Actually, about 12 years ago I did think about vet tech school but wasn't feasible at that time for a number of reasons. If I could cut back on work or retire at sometime, I think I would like to provide fostering for some of the sick dogs that need more personal attention and care so they can get well and be adopted. I know the one dog I adopted years ago was very sick, but he pulled through and he lived to be 11, miss him
I think there are people here who are full of great information, great insights on life and MT, and anything and everything in between. And I thank MT Stars for being here and providing us this board to communicate! Okay, you all can say SHUT UP now... point me in the direction of one of those blogger things that everyone seems to be doing these days, except I have no clue how to do that.
Have a good evening Mt and everyone else, too!

my TV programs are loaded with ads for men regarding
erectile dysfunction, all the time. Irregardless of that, I knew for years that HRT was supposedly associated with breast cancer. In the 80s I was admonished by a physician because she thought I should take estrogen. I told her I was not going to as I had already heard them. This association is not something that has recently come on the scene. My choice and I chose not to. Have never been sorry about doing it, no hot flashes, never and as far as I know the ole bones still holding out. Information like this sneaks up on people who are not informed from the get go.

On another thread on this board....
someone made the comment about giving girls a false sense of security and not getting PAPs and physicals because they got the vaccine. That was something I hadn't thought about previously.
I was talking about this with a friend of mine and we got on the subject of DES that was given to prevent miscarriages and preterm labor in the 50s and 60s and the side effects that came from it. I googled DES and the one website has a copy of an old ad that states "recommended for routine prophylaxis in ALL pregnancies" with a picture of a smiling baby above the statement. We all know how that turned out!
States have made all kinds of vaccines mandatory for admittance to kindergarten, but there are ways around it, such a religious exemption. I have another friend whose kids have had NONE of their childhood immunizations. I'm not saying I agree with anything that drastic, but her kids are in school.
it was? I see the thread below...admin says
The administrator just the other day (somewhere below in the threads) said we can talk about anything here except *MT work, politics or religion* and said *anything else is fine* in subject line or name line.
I'm not the one who started the thread but
I posted a reply on another thread about infidelity. I told the poster that what she was doing was wrong, to take a cold shower and pray about what was doing.
Regina (yeah, she uses her name in her entire email address) emailed me about how wrong I was, don't have a conscience, and stuff.
I saw her name here on this thread.
I'm just telling her to STOP EMAILING ME.
This thread or the shedding?!
LOL!
This will start a thread about who does not like her
but I was reminded when I saw your post about seeing Sylvia Browne in person 1 time. She said if someone toxic, no matter who they were, your own son, you should exclude them. I truly believe this to be the case.

What happened to just doing it in your garage?
As I posted in another thread,
I just love old cars, especially ones that are funny, unusual, or just pretty. I don't care about engines - I am a girl - so it's all about looks, and a little about the funny old-fashioned sounds they made. But still - cars! So while I would be happy to collect little toy/model cars, I have had to control the urge because I'm supposed to want to collect pretty dishes and glasswear or teapots or something, and none of that stuff interests me. I don't care what it's worth if it doesn't capture my imagination.
I do sort of collect books on gardening though, and they must have many, many color pictures.
Regarding prayer thread below (sm)
For those who responded about it being wrong to pray and that they were going to know have to have a Bible beside their Dorland's....how closed minded are you? We have freedom of religion in this country - should we take away our freedoms now? If two people of any religion want to pray in this country they are free to do so as long as it does not impose their beliefs on anyone else. Asking a Transcriptionist to type "we prayed" is asking him or her to document the happenings during the office visit just like everything else is documented. I am sure the doctor already knew of the patient's religion and they were both of the same religion - the doctor did not impose anything on this patient. I believe everyone is free to worship or not worship as their own beliefs dictate....you cannot take away that right - this is America - right now we still have freedoms here that many countries don't have the luxury of having....please don't try to take our rights away!! I would gladly transcribe any report mentioning any religion if that is what the doctor dictated because being fair and having freedom means that we don't judge anyone's religion, whether we believe they are right or not. If you are not religious, that is also your choice. I recently typed a chart where a woman was using the alignment of the stars to determine the best time for her to have surgery....I typed it like the doctor said it, because that is my job, and I did not judge her, because that is not my right.
seems that is why they are all here on this tired old thread.
it's come here or turn on each other !!
NOW THERE'S A VISUAL. LOL
Let's start a why do they thread!
Why do they make spice jar openings to small for a measuring spoon?
Why to they pkg 8 hot dogs and then pkg 6 buns? you never catch up!
Why does yellow mustard opening plug up and when you shake it, it squirts yellow oil?
Why do credit card cos send blank checks through the mail, forcing you to open all of it?
okay next?
You came in late on this thread so I
do not expect you to understand what was said. The person said they had no work at her full time job but sitting waiting on it? Then there was a part time job and finally full time school. Well, duh, why starve to "wait on work to show up" or stay full time in school when you can put together 2, 3 or 4 jobs and then there is full time pay.
Then why did you post on this thread below?
Why not just ignore the post? Most folks were just talking about what the OP asked about, and not really bringing politics or attacks into the thread. You incited an attack typical of ones on the politics board, which is exactly why many don't go there. For a lot of people, tomorrow is about more than politics for a variety of reasons.
The thread about the inauguration??

This whole thread is uncalled for
and you are no better than the ESLs. In fact, they are doctors and you are just an MT.
I posted in your thread below too, but
you need to get to a lawyer NOW (they will set up a payment plan, don't worry about that right now. If not, they will refer you to someone who can help you cheaper or free. Just GO.), and you need to file for divorce first. And you need to STAY PUT in the house with your kids. They'll make him leave, not you. He's freakin' nuts. You're married. It doesn't matter if your name is on the house or not, it's half yours. I've been where you are.... prepare yourself & be proactive.

I think it is Vanessa Carlton. Can't remember the name of the song now.

From reading the whole thread, I now feel
very sorry for you and your family. I wish you had posted all your thoughts at the start. You are honestly one of the lone MTs who work at home for - no reason other than to stay away from coworkers, really is the sum of your logic. You obviously feel children are worthless burdens, along with housework of any sort, or caring for your family. So go out and earn the big $$ - guess you couldn't hack competing with the men in the corporate world. Obviously. Seems a pity, as you get to sit at home and hate everything related to home and family, while other poor humans drag their tired selves out the door every morning to earn a living, counting the minutes until they can return home, exhausted, and catch a minute or 2 of their kids and family life before passing out from exhaustion. Such is life...

Bringing up the thread on NY bagels
before it gets * pruned *
I have a dumb question - - - - what makes a NY bagel so great??? I would think it is just bread dough formed in a circle....like I get at Albertson's or Safeway or Ralph's.
I'm so glad you started this thread
As I'm off today and can look up my comfort stuff and share and I know you'll like this one:
In C.S. Lewis's novel "Til We Have Faces," a character on the verge of meeting the "god of the Mountain" reasons bluntly with another, "Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home?
For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back." Elsewhere Lewis reasons similarly, "At present we are on the outside of the world, the wrong side of the door. We discern the freshness and purity of the morning, but they do not make us fresh and pure.
We cannot mingle with the splendours we see.
In the distance between what we see now and what we shall ONE DAY see is the longing that reminds us of home.
Some day, God willing, WE SHALL GET IN!
answer to your query is in this very thread....
Ahhh yes. I just posted in the thread below actually
about my experience freshman year of college. I went off to college, my boyfriend from the spring/summer went off to a different college (me to Illinois, him to USC!). Didn't take long before he bought a motorcycle, snuck back to Illinois on it, dropped out of USC, starting going to another school only an hour from me. One thing led to another, we kept traveling back and forth between our two schools and barely went to class, I had the experience I posted about below, and ended up leaving school. Twenty-eight years later, we have been married for 24 years but have big, big, big regrets about how we handled college. Boy, it would have been so much better to have not had that attachment when going off to school. This is the time to explore all opportunities, so I would say a broken heart right now is probably the better choice. It will heal, new opportunities will come along. If the relationship is meant to be, they will find their way back to one another down the road, but they both need to realize the importance of college and not let anything come in the way of that.
did you read the thread below "I feel bad for him too but (sm)" by OP nm
nm
Here here! Great thread Luv to Laugh! Thanks!
The OP stated below in the thread that started this whole
conversation that he says he has told her "everything" he knows. If that's the case, then why not tell her about his education. She loves him, for Pete's sake. He does sound like a wonderful man. I just don't understand the secretiveness. It's not like she is a casual acquaintance. This is the person he has chosen to spend his life with, so why not share his life with her. My husband didn't even finish high school but he didn't mind sharing it with me. Maybe we're just strange, but that's the way it is at our house (been married almost 30 years).
Sorry to remove some messages, but thread ran off then end

good-going parents thread...
Did you see on the news this morning where a mother made a sign for her son to wear in front of his school that said something like, "I'm stupid. I was driving over 100 miles per hour. I could have killed myself and my friends."
The report also said there was another sign on his car that said, "For Sale".
They interviewed the boy and he admitted that he was stupi*d driving like that.
Cheers to that MOM!!!!!
Another smokers' vent thread
**this is a vent***
Have you ever been lectured about smoking in person?
There is not a smoker in America who does not know that smoking is bad for you and a terrible habit. I really don't need to hear it again.
Last week I was in a smoking area (well away from a building, mind you) and a passerby from out of nowhere decided to tell me that cigarettes are unhealthy. No. Really? Wow!
A friend's son also decided to share this new info with me too. His mom didn't tell him to shush, either (he saw cigarettes in my purse, I wasn't smoking in his presence.) To me, that's rude. It's like asking an adult with a glass of wine at lunch if he's an alcoholic, or a chubby person not to eat so many ding dang doughnuts.
I would never have DREAMED of commenting on one of my parent's friend's habits, and one of them stuffs used Kleenex down the sides of sofas.
It makes me want to say "yes, but they're coooooool, Bobby".
sorry wrong thread - goes up with sleep
OOPS!
"One project done thread"
What projects do you need to get done?
I have quite a bit of scrapbooking and organizing photos to get on.
I've gotten all my coupons in my organizer. I just need to go back through them and organize the dates a bit better.
I have taken tons of things to the Salvation Army this year....Cleaned out closets, drawers and so on. I need to clean out and reorganize my kitchen cabinets.
It wouldn't hurt me to organize my recipes a bit better too!
This thread probably won't stay up very long, but
Our country is going to he!! in a handbasket in a hurry just because of scenarios you described with the gay marriage school trip. (I sure hope that no school really did do such a stupid thing.) As Christians, we have every right to be outraged if our child is exposed to such a thing as it goes against our beliefs. What would the atheist community say if we rounded up all the children, atheists or not, and took them to church on a Sunday morning? You can bet the outcry would be such as never heard before.
What has caused all of this? English philosopher Edmund Burke said "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." How right he was! 2 Cronicles 7:14 says 'If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'
I hope someone gets to praying......and SOON!
