My thing is Lifetime Movie Network movies...sm
I love most of the movies on this channel. I could sit and watch them all day.
My ex-husband had an affair
with my so-called best friend, better known as his brother's wife. It devastated me, not so much about him, but I felt the biggest betrayal was hers. We were very close, used to commiserate about the brothers and their crazy family, confided in each other and then SHE SLEPT WITH HIM!! It still bothers me and this was in 1984.
I know that wasn't your question, but it just reminded me of that whole mess.
It would bother me more I think if my husband had an affair with another man, because of the obvious health risk. Either way, it's a horrible experience.
Husband had affair 13-14 years ago
It was with a co-worker. He told me about it in the fall 1993. He moved out. A couple of months later he moved back home and said it was over. Our kids were young then, 6 and 9, and the holidays were coming up which is probably why he moved back. Fast forward to the fall 1994. He comes out with that he never stopped seeing her, but now she was moving out of state and it really is over. In 1999, we moved to a different state (not the one she's in... I know where she went). Things seemed to be okay, at least the way they always have been. We even had a baby girl in late 2000. Husband switched jobs last year and I was finally getting around to cleaning out some boxes that he brought from the office. I found an envelope in there from the low life he cheated with with a Christmas card and some pictures postmarked 2006. The message said hope you and your family are fine. I finally found some pictures for you. I hope you like them, etc. They are mostly of her with her husband with family friends. I think it's her husband ... at least it was her husband's name back then I remember, because he had called me a couple of times back when it all went on.
Okay, so it's like 14 years after the fact. I thought it was something we had gotten past. The thing is, I had never seen what she looked like and now out of the blue I'm putting a face to the whole thing. Besides that it's bringing the whole thing back, the feelings, the betrayal, all of it, I'm also shocked that one or way another they have stayed in touch, even with us moving. Now I wonder again, is he really where he says he is when he's out?
Just wanted some opinions here. I'm just a mess right now and don't know whether to say anything or not.
U got it!!! after a lifetime of them, who needs one...
if it's got tires or testicles, it's gonna give ya problem(s).............
*roarin*..........LOL
Dull leaves
I use milk. Dip a wet washcloth in milk and wipe each leaf. It is time consuming, but it makes them shine like crazy. It has never hurt one of my plants. Good luck!
Lilly
what a sad affair
I was flipping between that and Nancy Grace. I personally believes the boy likes the attention and as you said, "grow up"!
Affair
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! I had a friend whose husband cheated on her their entire marriage (17+ years). I could not do it, but she had three young children and felt that she needed to keep her family together. I don't think I would ever be able to trust my husband again!
I don't think he is having an affair with her - sm
If he wanted to hide it he could have given cash, easy to withdrawal $100 here and there, etc, not raise too much of an eyebrow. Unless it is all reverse psychology on his part, but usually men are not that smart. I am sure he is getting an ego boost from being a shoulder to cry on though, and I would certainly keep my eyes open. He was a bit overly generous though and definitely should have said to you, hey, I'd like to give her some cash to help out would $500 be okay with you? Granted I would balk at that myself, maybe $250 or $300 that would be as high as I would go in such a situation. I would try to get him to see it from your point of view, reverse the roles as someone suggested below and ask him how he'd feel if she was a he and you had 90 minute appointments with him and stay and chat, and give him $500. He'll probably tell you that would be nuts, etc. It is possible for a hair appt to take a while, she may be running late or he shows up early and waits and chats with her then as well, who knows. How often do you go? Do you go together (if not, start) or separate? As long as he doesn't start going more often to get hair cuts, or strange calls show up on his cell phone or email I would not worry about it. He probably got overzealous and wanted to "rescue" the fair maiden with a large cash donation. Men can be very foolish sometimes.
That's like something out of a Lifetime movie
I've had dealings with one small MTSO I can actually envision doing this, scarily enough. Total whack job, bipolar, schizophrenic, whatever she is, it's SCARY.
Glad this all worked out okay for you!
raking leaves and singing
Any daylight you can get will give you a boost. I just got finished with 19 bags of leaves and picking up sticks (tree limbs). I sang outloud the whole time any song that came into my head....Still have 3/4 of the property to do, but that's for another day. Now, time to make dinner.

this has nothing to do with whether or not it hurts or leaves a bruise(sm)
This is about the fact that you are choosing to let your daughter be humiliated in public. It may be done behind closed doors but there will be a witness there and everyone she knows (and probably doesn't know) will know it happened. Also, I tend to agree with the poster above who referred to this act as similar to a fetish and that whole aspect of this. This is not about punishment. It's about actually letting someone humiliate your child. I can only think of one other thing that would be worse - it has four letters, begins with an r and ends with an e. I'm absolutely appalled at this!
The affair thing
I think an affair is something to consider. Google signs of an affair and see if anything else seems to go with the typical behavior. He certainly is a ripe age for it (mid-life crisis material).
Whatever it is, don't assume he will just get over it. You need to get to the bottom of it.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
Our pooch gets embarrassed and leaves the room, too! nm

Dull leaves on my household plants
Ok, I give up. What can you use to make the leaves shiny, mayonnaise or baby oil or just what? Thanks
Yes, when parenting leaves lots to be desired, it is

Borax worked for us too. So do eucalyptus leaves...
placed under couch cushion, in pet beds, etc. First we used Advantage, then did the Borax. Worked great on 4 cats. We were dog sitting and the little critter came along, but are gone now.
It is supposed to be moving to Lifetime sm
but as far as when it will air, I really don't know as there have been some issues with the transfer between the producers and Bravo. There is an injunction against Lifetime from Bravo to where they cannot air the show until the legal mess gets sorted out, even though the season has been filmed, except for the finale.
I do like Top Chef on Bravo but it comes on the same time as Life on Mars, so I have to catch it on reruns.
lifetime moves are cheesy.
nm
sounds to me he is guilty. maybe he is having an affair and sm
wants you to divorce him and that is his way of trying to get you to do so. I would leave the SOB. No one deserves that sort of verbal abuse. Just my 2 cents.
More upset if with a man. Lie #1 is the affair, lie #2 is that he's gay and didn't tell me bef

Yikes! A Paterson Affair now...
Well David Paterson, new Governor on NY as of today, is reported to have had an extra-marital affair..no prostitutes, just a long term affair. He claims it happened when his marriage was in trouble and his wife also had an affair. According to him, they then had counseling, got back together and that was that. Someone in Albany started a rumor that Paterson also had a "love child" with still another woman, but Paterson flatly denied it. I don't have a link--it's breaking news.
Jon's been having a months-long affair
with a college student or recent college grad... There are plenty of pictures, and her brother has spoken out and given interviews too. One article I read was in US Weekly I believe. As much as I really am not wild about Kate, I really feel for her in this situation. She's taking care of all those kids while he's off spending weeks and weekends away with a woman half their age nearly.
Mary Winkler leaves near me. It is all over the news today - SM
Her in-laws are trying to get a junction to stop the local station from airing the episode of Oprah today.
Have you seen Lisa Williams' show? On Lifetime
She is probably the best I've seen. Truly fascinating.
This is an ongoing thing there, I doubt in our lifetime
we will see any difference. No much tragedy, so much sorrow and like you said about Bill Gates, he and his wife really have their heart in the right spot with all they do with what they have and yet all that money and some good but probably not a dent into what is needed. I spent time in Santo Domingo next to Haiti, probably as poor a spot as you could ever find in this world so I have seen and like I said money taken in and then the money comes up short with miscalculations, etc. Yes, I am cynical and have reason to be because of what I see going on with all this funding the people send and then it goes missing. I hear of stories around my home or other places and I pick and choose and send to those I feel really need it (sob stories for animals, also).
Never declawed any of the dozen cats I have had over my lifetime - sm
It is rare, in my opinion, that a cat cannot be trained to claw in appropriate places and not on furniture, etc. Are you providing good places for the kitty to claw, such as a nice scratch post (mine really love the sisal rope kind)? They also love those simple cardboard inserts that are in the Turbo Trackers and the Alpine Scratcher. When I get a new kitty I direct them to the appropriate places to claw and lavish praise. These acceptable places need to be some place you pass by often because the kitty wants you to be there when they are good. Mine run to the scratching posts because they know I am going to lavish praise on them. :-) If they claw somewhere they are not supposed to I immediatly squirt them with a water bottle set to stream. Something called a Scat Mat also keeps them away from the inappropriate places should they want to test you further. I have had young kittens, adult cats, you name it, and not a single one of them could not be trained to scratch where appropriate. I also have nice furniture (even leather). I would only declaw after I had exhausted all other options and it was a choice between that and giving up the cat. Just my two cents, for what it is worth. :-) Let us know what you decide. Best of luck!!
Personally, I would let it ride. Cost a man his job and reputation for a lifetime over this?
And unless you like to see your husband upset, I'd not say anything to him if I were you.
I learned at about the age of 20 how to give a look that made people shudder when they offended me. That is enough for me in situations like this which I consider a 2 on a scale of 1-10 in the sexual harrassment department.
Do you realize the resulting damage you will do if you take a 2 second event into discussion with white shirts?
I used to work for a finance company many in an earlier lifetime, sm
At that time, I never saw anything repossessed. However, they would guarnishee people's wages. The first thing you need to do is to contact the lenders to work something out. Sometimes they used to refinance the loans to lower the payments. Or, you could contact somebody like Consumer Credit Counseling Service (be careful and find a legitimate company). They can work out deals with your creditors. Be prepared that this will not help your credit rating, but the companies usually work with you if you are up front and communicate with them. At least they did back when I was working with them. The worst thing to do is to avoid them.
On the other hand, if you financed the furniture through the store, it could be that they would repossess. I know they do with cars.
What I was referring to was taking out a loan and putting down household goods as collateral, which is what people did when I was working for the finance company.
talk about Are You Kidding....who cares about your office affair

I use a nonalcohol screen cleaner for my LCD screen and it leaves a film all over it. Nasty and
it is made for LCD screens and a well known name. Any suggestions. I have to use clean water on a wipe to get the film off.
Movies
How do you like Netflix? I have considered joining. We don't generally rent a lot of movies though.
Thought you might want to add one to your list . . . I got the recommendation from Helen Reddy's web site, and I really enjoyed it -- it's called "What the Bleep Do We Know". It's sort of a docudrama/comedy starring Marlee Matlin. Kind of how things are and how they might be. Check it out:

movies
How about Steel Magnolias.
I think you have two different movies . . .
Cary Grant was in both of them. "Why don't you come up and see me sometime" was She done him wrong. "when I'm bad" is from "I'm No Angel".
At least according to:

movies
On a lighter note, what good movies have you seen lately? Last night, we went to see, "You dont mess with the Zohan" with Sandler. It was funny to me, not the best movie, but a good comic relief. I also saw Iron Man, which was good to me just because of Robert Downey Jr. who is HOT!
Sad movies
Have you ever watched a sad movie that you were still crying even when it's over. I just watched The Notebook last night. What a great movie but an absolute tear-jerker. I will still crying after the credits were rolling and it was going on to the next movie. Thank God DH did not come into the room. I would have felt like such a dork. What movies have you cried at? Another one I saw that was a tear-jerker but had a happy ending was Steel Magnolias.
Yes, it is great, and more than movies
I started renting shows, like Will and Grace and Desperate Housewives, things I didn't watch much in the past, starting from the very beginning, one season at a time. It's really great! Oh, and if you haven't done the sex and the City thing, start renting them. You will be hooked from the 1st season. Many women I know says that is their all-time favorite "woman" show.
Which is better - books or movies?
I never really caught on to the whole Harry Potter thing - it even took me a while to like the movies. But everyone is so crazy about the books, my curiosity is killing me. I don't have a lot of extra money to invest to quash my curiosity, so which should I invest in - the movies or the books? I do know that usually books are better than movies, but I'd hate to spend all that money if the movies are just as good!
Have u seen the movies What the Bleep Do We
Both movies can be life changing! What The Bleep Do We Know is about quantum physics, but it is explained in a way that is easily understandable! It is really amazing, and I would recommend it to anyone who has been feeling negative or hopeless or powerless lately or just wants to expand their brain and learn something totally alien.
The Secret has similarities to the above movie, but with more simplified explanations. I pretty much forced my mom to watch The Secret because she has had such a negative view lately and gone through some tough times, and even though she can be a bit skeptical, she loved it! It really inspired her, and the next day she had a terrific career idea and is at least focusing on the positive a bit more.
I think a simple thing like a movie or a book or even a new idea from a stranger can cause a slight shift in one's consciousness and can help create a more positive outlook on life, and watching these movies really did make me want to enjoy the beauty of life a little bit more each day and look forward to the adventures life brings and just really feel alive!
I just wanted to recommend the movies to you and also know your thoughts if you have actually seen either movie and if/how they affected your lives. (~kam)
Loved all these fun movies sm
You had Joe Pesci correct. I am not a person who swears a lot but he swears so much, it gets hilarious. Of course, I watch him with no kids around. He swore so much in Casino that I was laughing all by myself. Husband and I are getting older, so we joke about Python's skit - Bring out your Dead! But I'm not dead yet! So hilarious! Thanks for the laughs. No offense meant by the swearing, I just love Joe Pesci, loved him when he was ordered by the court to live in his own slum houses. I am sure he's a much nicer guy in person. Thanks for the memories.
we watched movies
Chuck and Larry was one of them. We had shrimp cocktail and stuffed clams and those little hot dog pastries and mini quiches, and then at midnight champagne and Italian pastries. It was a nice night. Happy 2008 all.
Try Out Red Box for renting movies.
pppp
I just watched 2 great movies.
We rented Spitfire Grill and I caught Guarding Tess on cable. I've seen both before, but what great movies.
THE HOLIDAY!!!!! I saw it 4 times at the movies with all sm
different sets of friends. SOOO romantic - ultimate chick flick. I never saw a movie with Jude Law before that one. MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME! Jude Law is amazingly gorgeous. I promise, you will love this movie. Ultimate in romance and humor!!Even my husband liked it and he doesn't like chick flicks.
he is cool - love all his movies -

Anyone download movies on the net for free?

What are your favorite funny movies?
Mine are (in no particular order)
Wagons East
Super Troopers
Anchorman
Baby's Day Out
Almost Heroes
Elf
Yes, those Batman movies sure are scary.
xxx
I love TCM. Great movies.
xx
I gotta go with the American Pie movies
Especially American Wedding when Stiffler eats dog doo! These movies make me pee my pants -- speaking of which, my fav romantic movie is Pretty Woman - that's her line in the opera scene when she tells those old biddies "it was so good, I almost peed my pants."
My best friend loves Grease, too. She knows every single line (which can get quite annoying).
Work, watch movies, etc
Staying home is not hard for us at all. We have no kids to entertain, no family or friends here, and our cat is lonely when we're not here. We have so many projects to work on at home that I love turning on an old movie on AMC and work on my quilts. DH is into computer games. Also we have sorting, straightening, cleaning, paying bills, and all the stuff I can't do when I work from 7 am to 10pm
What are your favorite holiday movies
Now that the holidays are just around the corner we'll be seeing more and more holiday movies. I'm not into the holidays, but I do like holiday movies. What are some of your favorites. I like:
1. Home for the Holidays (starring Holly Hunter) - very funny.
2. Bed of Roses (with Christian Slater) - very Romantic.
3. All the cartoon/animation kids shows like Dr. Seusse's Grinch that Stole Christmas and Rudolph the Rednose Rheindeer (DH loves to imitate the abdominal snow man - and we walk around singing we are Santa's elves while we make movements with our arms like the the animated characters - it's a hoot and we always end up laughing). :-)
4. Homecoming - Christmas story with the Waltons.
