I sent an email to someone on here today, on just how bad off are you
and I really mean this from the bottom of my heart. This person said they were having trouble paying their house note or rent, not sure right now which one. I never got an answer but let me just say sometimes there are people out here who want to help you, me being one of those. I asked about her situation, how much she owed and to tell me something about her family. I might get hateful postings because of my saying this and you may not think I mean it but I do things like this a lot. I love to give but … I pick and choose the ones I feel could really use the assistance. I now will not be answering any emails but I just wanted to let people know sometimes there are ones around who care. I have gotten so much from helping others. Stories that I read, things I see on television that touch my heart and from what I do I get so much more back than I could ever give away.
yep, w/email today, no excuse not to respond!!
I am so sad today, can't even work. I received an email sm
this morning from my son's father (we share custoday with him having physical custody) that my son will not be coming home for the summer. I can't argue with him or take him to court because he is my son's soul provider right now. I can't go into why, when, where, etc. Long story...
My son is still very young. We've waited all year for him to come home for the summer. He lives 1,000 miles away. He has 2 other siblings here.
He is just being spiteful. I spoke with my son a few nights ago and he was so excited about coming here. He wants to live here full time, but his dad won't let him. Now, his dad is keeping him from even coming down for the summer because he's so afraid that my son won't want to go back home.
So, because of one selfish person, we all have to suffer - me, my son, his siblings, his stepdad. It's the most difficult situation ever to have to be in. And there isn't anything I can do about it but pray that he change his mind!
Thought this was priceless...wanted to share
Doctor just dictated this:
"I listened to the dictated report on the phone, but the radiologist speaks so quickly I cannot determine exactly what she said about FDG avidity of these lymph nodes."
I know there are a lot of animal lovers here, so I thought I would share...
Back in March I posted on this board about my lab puppy that died from parvo. After that happened, we bleached our house from ceiling to floor and poured buckets and buckets of dilute bleach on our yard. About a month later, I was approached by a neighbor who's boxer had had puppies and since the neither of the parent boxers were registered, she was selling them of $100 a piece. I've always wanted a boxer, but refused to pay $400 for a dog. So I jumped at the chance to get a boxer, but I was a little leery because of the parvo incident. So my hubbie and I again bleached our house from top to bottom and bleached our yard, pretty much killing the grass. We made sure the puppy had her first set of shots including a parvo vaccination and even made a point three months ahead for her second parvo booster. We brought her home and she did great. We thought we were successful at decontaminating our house. She was healthy and happy until about three weeks ago. She had gotten into the trash and got a hold of some raw chicken bones and then the next was lethargic and heaving like she wanted to throw up but couldn't. As luck would have it, it was time for her appointment for her shots and booster. So I get to the vet and tell her what was going on with her and even the vet agreed it was probably the chicken. So they checked her out and she had a temperature. So the vet said she couldn't give her shots, but they could do the flea treatment. Then vet asked me about doing a parvo test. At first I was like no way could she have parvo. She's been living in our house for four months now and is just now getting sick? But then I said just to rule out, let's do it. Well, she had parvo!
I was just sick and crying. I didn't want my kids to watch another dog die, but I didn't want to euthanize her either. She wasn't as sick as the other dog had been. She hadn't had diarrhea, just a little vomiting. I just didn't know what to do. I couldn't afford the $600 my vet was telling me would be the cost to hospitalize her and give her IV fluids and antibiotics. So I took her home and gave the sad news to my husband. Then I got mad and said there has got to be something else we can try. So the MT in me took over and I got online and started researching. I found a couple of articles where vets had tried Tamiflu in dogs with parvo and that the Tamiflu had actually helped. It had shortened the length of the illness, hindered the spread of the virus throughout the dog's intestinal tract, and made the symptoms less severe. Basically, given a dog a better chance for survival. Luckily (LOL) my entire family had had the flu back in February and I happened to have some Tamiflu on hand that my husband hadn't taken. I found that the vets had given the parvo dogs 1 mg per pound to the sick dogs twice a day for five days which in my dog averaged to about 30 mg twice a day. My Tamiflu was 75 mg capsules. So I figured I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. So I did it. She wouldn't eat at first, so putting the pill in a hotdog wasn't an option. So my husband held her mouth open and I dropped a pill in and used a baby medicine dropper to squirt water into her mouth. Then we held her mouth closed and made her swallow. Day two, she seemed a little perky and actually got up to drink water on her own. By day three, she was eating tiny pieces of poached chicken and taking her pill on her own.
Long story short, we are now two weeks out from Sugar's 5-day Tamiflu treatment and she is 100% recovered! She is chasing the cat, chewing up my shoes, and just generally wreaking the wonderful havoc like she has always done! I told my vet what I did and she's going to do some research on her own and she may even try it on other dogs in the future. I just wanted to share my story here because so many times people think parvo is a death sentence or that the only thing to save your dog is expensive treatment that people have a hard time justifying. I also wanted to share how my career as an MT probably saved my dog! Had I not had honed all those researching and investigative skills we need as MTs, I would have never found the information that ultimately saved my dog.
Heard the most fascinating story today at lunch. gottah share. sm
My best friend just returned from a trip back home by herself. There, she met up with her high school sweetheart - 20 years later. His mom and her mom are best friends and they were both there for a funeral. She cried her eyes out at lunch today. She learned while on her trip back home that the love of her life was divorced, has 3 kids - his wife left him for another man. My friend is married with 2 children. To make a long story short, my friend is a true lady. She told him all about her life here and he just listened. They were near water (a gorgeous beach) on the docks and it was just the 2 of them and he began saying things to her that made her so sad. He went on and on about how he never stopped loving her and would look at her and say, "you are just as gorgeous as you were back in high school." She said she would just laugh and tell him he was crazy. She said she saw him on and off during the trip because she "had" to. They have families that are very close. Every time he would see her he would give her a big hug and call her gorgeous. She said the night before she left they were on his mother's porch swinging, eating ice cream and he cried like a baby. She cried. Nothing inappropriate happened between them. She said it was a connection none like she had ever, ever experienced before. She said that he made her promise that if anything were to ever happen between she and her husband that she would come back and be with him. He promised that he would wait for her, even if she were 80 years old. My friend cried and cried. He cried and cried.
I cried and cried. I know this lady's husband. The have a good relationship. But she and I both know that we did not marry our soul mates. I don't even know where mine is (we broke up many moons ago), but I know he was the one for me. There was no infedelity to this story at all. I believe her. They lost contact when she went away to college, moved on, and that was it. She would talk about him periodically with me, but nothing real serious.
I don't know how many women (I sure haven't) met up with old flames or lost soul mates and have the experience she has. She is a Christian and says that if she didn't love Jesus, something would have happened between them. She was able to use her love of God to witness to this man (who isn't a Christian). She said that she wouldn't be able to live with herself if something happened between them and that his soul was more important to her than her selfish desires.
I commended her for that. I don't know how many women in her position would have been as strong. She cried so hard when she was telling me this story. Lunch lasted 4 hours!! I'm glad I was off today. Anyway, it just has me thinking about my ilfe, too, as a married mom and wife. My husband is the most unemotional, unaffectionate, doesn't-believe-in-soul mates-kind-of-guy. I can't talk with him about these kinds of things. I just wish he were mine OR I was with mine.......
hydrogen peroxide tips - received via email and thought i'd pass on. see inside.
* This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana (a doctor's wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me.. I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little ole bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost? My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide. Have you ever smelled bleach in a doctor's office? NO!!! Why? Because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor's offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better! * ** *Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40's? It's chlorine, Folks! And it was used to kill our troops. Peroxide was invented during WWI in the 20's. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals. Please think about this. * ** *1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. * ** *2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs. * ** *3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters. * ** *4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria. * ** *5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry. * ** *6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide. * ** *7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will. * ** ** ** *8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue. * ** ** ** *9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly. * ** *10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it's not a drastic change. * ** *11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections. * ** *12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary. * ** *13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this. * ** ** ** *I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! * ** *This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too. Pass it on! *
Thought I would strangle him Saturday, today a big hug!
You see, my husband loves to upgrade in most things- be it a television, vehicle or whatever. Two years ago he and I together put in money for a high definition. Ok, the other day he said - by the way, be on the lookout - just ordered another high definition- well this 1 we had just a baby and besides I had paid some on it. Get this, folks, the new one arrived and wonderful. It is a Toshiba 1080PX high definition, premium LCD and the picture is absolutely beyond beautiful. No extra set up for anything, no rabbit ears for the high definition, no extra payment to the cable people- I cannot believe the taste this man has- oh I forgot, he did get me, shoulda known then.
Don't tell - I kind of stole it from him! LOL, thought it was fitting for today. nm
xx
I had to go to jury selection today. I thought it was incredibly interesting.
I wonder how one goes about getting a job at the courthouse? It all looked to intriguing.
What do you think of the quality of clothing today. What I looked at shopping today in nice stores
the stuff wasnt even sewn properly. Do you have to look at everything you buy or just hope it lasts a year.
Added fresh chives today. to the egg today.
and a SMIDGE of soy sauce.
email
I use AOL. i've tried drag and drop but that didn't work.
I would just email them and say
Thanks for sending the work early, I will get on it first thing tomorrow. Enjoy your holiday!
Would you like for him to email you?
I don't think he thinks of himself as a poor kid. He is 21 now and is a real estate agent and in his last year of college. He is one of the best young men that you would ever want to meet. If you had a daughter, believe me you would want him for a son-in-law. And that's no joke.
Well, can we just ask WHY you don't take it to email?
I think there are way more of us that find it more odd than cute. lol
TLR-look for email!!
Hey!! I must have missed something here, but I'm glad becauseI wouldn't want it to mess up a good morning I'm having. I would love to read your lyrics!! Oh, you know who and I just got back from having cappuccino on the patio at one of our favorite hauntings!! When I say these 2 words to him in the morning "coffee and cookies" he goes crazy and then he starts barking when I pull up to the coffee shop!
Cat - regarding your email to me...sm
Hi Cat: You emailed me but I'm not sure why. You don't know anything about me nor if I have currently any connection to the VA. I have been fighting for this govt to take care of our veterans for the past 20 years. I used to transcribe for the VA in Miami 20 years ago.
I did LOVE your post about sending in the politician's kids to fight ANY war - like that's ever going to happen!! It's a rare politician whose kid(s) go to war.
Have a GREAT weekend!!
Keepin' the faith!!
I just sent you an email.
We are so alike, and I see the poster below is going through the same thing.

Just sent you an email.

Been there/done that. You can email me if you'd
like but what you wrote sounds almost exactly what I lived for years. Sometimes I'm surprised I didn't just leave. I'm still here; stepson is still in the picture too, and I've grinned and beared it since he was 6 (now he's an adult).
Email me if you'd like.
i tried to email you sm
i tried to email you but i got an email back saying they couldn't send it, probably your spam blocker or something. anyway, i always heard that giving a dog a bath once a month was plenty. so that's what i do.
good luck with your new baby!!!
you are welcome. I am going to email you
you can add me to your friends list. Good Luck!
well just email me through here if you want some

Me too, have gotten this in my email - sm

I just answered your email *S*
A friend sent them to me in an email....sm

Please check your email.

Know anyone can send email...
I said sent in error and that is what happened, not that you had anything to do with this, you did not. Apparently by saying independent and asking about how to send in taxes, this person thought I was maybe owner of a company. Maybe rereading the post I held no one accountable, no one. I would never respond to a post like this because of it being from India and just too many scammers out there for me. The first sentence says - - I don’t know where they got my email unless this site is giving it out - this sentence did not come from me.
I sent you an email with the URL of a website that

email me for answers
My son is a realtor and has experience in this sort of sell. I don't know where you are located but I'm sure he will have some good information for you. You are probably sitting on a goldmine. Where we live, the same thing is happening. Older homes on the water are being bought and torn down to build mansions - just feel lucky that you are probably going to make a mint when you do decide to sell.
THis is so weird because I had an email
from Paypal this morning confirming a purchase and I don't even have a Paypal account!!! I checked my bank account quickly but that seemed all in order. I sent the email to spoofpaypal.com for them to look into it.
Hayseed! I sent you an email!
I love your ornaments! They are awesome!
Would you like an email pal to correspond with ?
If so respond to me by email and we can chat through email. God bless!
Jan Setzer
I would email him, as this seems to be part of (sm)
his modus operandi stating: "I cannot afford to go out with you anymore, so, it is OVER! OH...I forgot the "You're a liar and a cheapskate!!!!
I am dead serious. Get out of that....whatever kind of ????ship you call it.
I don't mind at all that you sent my email along.
There is plenty of training material available to scout leaders on the transition period and how to help the boys stay in scouting. There are videos, training sessions run by people like me, written material, etc. It's out there. It's just hard to get it through some of the leaders' brains that the boys need to be treated like boys in transition, and not like army recruits. I really applaud you for being willing to go out on the trips with the troop. That is also a hard thing to do with so many men around. I looked very carefully when my boys were crossing over to scout troops. We are fortunate in our area to have many troops to choose from. We found a great troop headed by mostly even-thinking adults who had no problem with a woman joining them. It's not perfect, and every now and then, some sexist fool says or does something stupid, but nothing is ever insurmountable in that regard. Know that having women leaders is a unit option, which means that the chartering organization can decide that no girls are allowed, so to speak. This is sometimes done for religious reasons. Other times it's just sort of a tacit tradition. I didn't have to overcome that issue, and in fact, when it was discovered that I had been camping all my life and was an avid solo backpacker, I got the job of teaching the boys about backpacking, too. Our troop welcomed all volunteers who were willing to be trained and who could commit to helping the boys.
I do hope it works out for your son. If you do join as a leader, be sure that you take advantage of all the training opportunities available to you. Your troop should have a training coordinator or advancement chair who knows when training is offered. (By the way, are the adult leaders of this troop fully trained? That's VERY important.) As a GSUSA leader, you should understand the value of training. The Girl Scouts really do a great job of requiring leaders to be trained. BSA councils and districts, however, sometimes vary on how strict they are on training requirements. Don't be afraid to help out. You're doing this for your son, and that really is a great motivator. And what's really cool is that most of us start out wanting to help our own sons, but in the process we help so many other boys and parents along the way.
Good luck!

Everything sounds pretty obvious on what to do, but can you send me the recipe for the peanut butter kiss cookies please? Thanks!
yes, still in touch, by email. also, a really, sm
really good friend to both of us. best man at our wedding and whom I loved very much. died Nov 2. I am still mourning the loss.
She just sent me a LONG email
basically saying how we're trying to screw her over when she has always been there for us and telling us how "irresponsible" we both are. WHATEVER! I didn't even respond, but I soooooo wanted to, but my husband and my parents told me that a response is probably what she is looking for and to not reply. This email was well over a page long. It was ridiculously insane!
If I were you, I would rebut her email, because
if you don't she might see it as her victory.
State in your email that she 'verbally' agreed to the amount of $ 400.-- and her husband agreed $ 500.-- for the renovation of the basement = total $ 900.-- and you gave him $ 1,000.--.
I got your email, sent you the recipe, ...
if you don't get it let me know will resend.. :D

but what is odd is your obsession with this. Get over it and get on to something you consider valuable. You must be reading our posts and no one else's. We have been supported by many people who have called you on your comments. Read all of em, kid.
