1. For SOME people there is a "rush" spending money they don't have on things they don't need.
2. Reverse weakness. We buy it feeling we deserve it, but get it home and feel we don't. AND, are too guilty to return it.
3. Fear of using our "nice" things...like if we do, we won't have any more nice things. It is fear of lack.
4. You might be a compulsive spender and spend for something to do. People like this need a hobby that doesn't cost money.

Truth is, we DO deserve to enjoy the money we make. We DO deserve to have some nice things to wear or to have around us. There is nothing wrong with a few compulsive buys either.

The best advice about buying new things is this: If you can't or won't get rid of something you already have, you can't buy anything new. I buy a LOT less since I have been following this plan. I just bought 2 new tops because I had tossed out 4 or 5 from last summer. Since the old stuff is gone I have to wear the new or not wear clean clothes. It works well and not so much discipline to it.
