which is supposed to be the best topical available for wrinkles, but I don't know how many physicians would prescribe it for wrinkles (and, of course, probably no insurance companies would pay if wrinkles was the "diagnosis". It is often prescribed for acne though. I have a prescription and a few months ago started using it according to the directions, which were to begin with 1-2 times per week and then advance over time to every other day, and then daily. I did fine at first, but I think I bumped it up too quickly and on Easter Sunday I had several patches of red on my face that were slightly raised. It also does sting a little bit, which both the directions and my derm said are normal, and she said that some people have such sensitive skin that they cannot use it. I have not gotten back into a regular routine of using it yet, but will go more slowly when I do.
I do not know what the instructions for RoC are, but I wanted to mention also that with Retinol the directions are to wait 20-30 minutes after cleansing and patting dry skin, so you want to really make sure your skin is dry before applying. I know my sister had some problems some years ago with it because she was unaware of the need to do this. Another important thing to remember is that it is recommended to avoid sun exposure when using Retinol.
