In Reply to: How much do you tip the pizza delivery guy? - Winky
Pizza Hut now charges a $1.75 delivery fee and is only 1.5 miles from my house, so I typically tip 15% if we have it delivered instead of going to pick it up ourselves (Which we do more often since they raised their delivery fee). If we order from another place that doesn't pass on a delivery fee than I'll usually tip 20%.
I never, ever, put money into a tip jar anywhere.
When we do eat at restaurants I usually tip 20% or more depending on the service, but if I get suboptimal service I'll leave 10-15% depending on the level of service received and how busy the restaurant is (if they're busy I'm more forgiving than if they're not).

depends on if they add gas surcharge of $4 when I order -sm
If not, I give a few dollars per pizza. If they charge that surcharge when I call in the order then I tip less. Some companies are charging it now and some are not, and it does not depend where they are delivering to.

CSI and Law and Order
Saw the post on the other board about transcribing for CSI or L&O docs.
Had to respond here (because this is not really a main board thing), that these shows are awesome! I love them probably because it is so much like our work. One of the accounts I type for is actually mentioned on one of the CSIs and I go crazy when I hear the name of the hospital. LOL. Anybody else loooove these shows? Just curious to see if there are only a few of us or if a lot of MTs have this in common.
there isn't any order that I sm
know of. There is a notice that ocmes in the mail that says it will just be in late May.
restraining order?
When you leave, could you try to get a restraining order? Then when he violates it, which he probably will, have him arrested. .
Nevermind.. order something...
called Lock Laces online. Expensive, but hopefully they will last.
I'd get a restraining order, that way when- sm
he violates it he will be thrown in jail, and possibly get a mental health evaluation. You mom needs to do this as he has threatned her, etc. You never know when he might further go over the edge and followthrough (i.e. kill your mom), if he ever does you will obviously feel very guilty that you sat back and did nothing.
Look like a good belly rub is in order!!!

No mentors, formerly done via mail order, etc.
I answered this before but don't know where it went. We worry he is being used but he asked us to think positive. We are sick about it but can't dare say anything. He is doing his best to ask for help, a competitor just laughed in his face at Manhattan. Newer product previously ordered online or through catalogs, no prior salesperson cold calling.
I usually give $5, or 20% depending on how much I order.
I know they work hard for their money, and believe it or not, there are still a lot of people out there that NEVER tip so I try to make a small difference. I know people in my family who have NEVER tipped and do not feel like they have to. I think it's rude consider wait staff usually never makes minimum wage and something like $3.35 plus tips, so, they are very dependent on tips to make a liveable wage.
The pizza place we order from
I have assumed that would go to the driver.
yes! order an appetizer - they are huge, enough for 2 (or more). NM

I think DNA are in order for Jackson kids
I have seen the kids, all 3 of them and without a doubt do not think those are Michael Jackson's kids. One by a surrogate, well all 3 because apparently Debbie Rowe gave up her claim to kids for money and after they came out from behind the costume masks, there is not 1 thing, not 1 that looks like they are mixed, one kid is a towhead, the others have no facial features, hair nor any skin characteristics that resemble their father. I doubt this would ever be done but frankly have thought from the start Jackson was not the father and furthermore after staying behind the masks, blankets and things the children were behind for so long, thought then about covering up for the fact there was no blackness there.
Anette -- where did you order it from, would love a thermal one - nm

I have an insane idea- order both--- be interesting - sm
to see how many eat chicken and how many pizza. I have a SIL that is impossible to please when it comes to food. My mom would always call her though and ask her what she would like; then she'd make what we will all eating (Turkey, spaghetti, whatever) then also make skinless chicken (usually) for my SIL so she would have something to eat as well. Yeah she thought it was a pain to do but she did it to please her DIL. So again, I'd just suggest back to her, hey pizza is growing old, how about we get pizza and chicken, and you know mashed potatoes is not the only side, they also have mac n' cheese, cole slaw, rolls, etc. Have a mini buffet with pizza and chicken and have some fun.
don't believe they were the bottom 3, Ryan said results in NO ORDER. (nm)

I just realized that they are all lined up in order of their ages!
Max is the oldest (the one on the far left), and he will be 6 on Christmas day. Bailey (middle) just turned 4 this past summer, and scooter (end) just turned 2 this summer.
Tell them, my own boss, years ago no restraining order
for a husband. They could beat you and half kill you and you were considered their property. I know because have been there.
I once called in a pizza order to be picked up
and the guy on the phone said off-handedly....I don't need to charge you the extra dollar since it is not being delivered. I asked if that dollar went to the delivery person and he sheepishly said no. Really ticked me off.
And where did the $$ come from in order to have the fertility treatments and in vitro in the first p
I had a close friend who ironically was an obstetrical nurse who went through three trials of all this, and with medical insurance it cleaned her and her husband's bank account out, ironically, they ended up adopting a toddler and she then became pregnant NATURALLY!!! but anyway, I know first-hand the expense, what gives in this case, the parents had no money, as I mentioned below, this was reported on CNN and MSNBC.
Can't stop shaking my head in amazement! And if she were "obsessed" as a teenager with having babies for the sake of having babies, shouldn't the parents have gotten her some SERIOUS psychhiatric help, there is a big problem here, this young lady has unbelievable psychological issues that need to be addressed fast, and for her own happiness? Apart from financial, how does one mother adequately nurture and love each of these babies as individuals, all 14, giving them all the love, attention, care, instructions, etc., that they all so richly need and deserve in their little lives???
AND WALMART canceled order-article inside..sm
Wal-Mart: We're not afraid to say Merry Christmas
No. 1 retailer has decided to abandon its generic 'Happy Holidays' greeting in favor of 'Merry Christmas.'
November 9 2006: 9:46 AM EST
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Wal-Mart has told its employees that it's OK to once again greet shoppers by saying "Merry Christmas" this holiday season instead of the generic "Happy Holidays."
CNN confirmed that Wal-Mart will announce Thursday that it plans to use the phrase "Merry Christmas" in products and around its stores this holiday season.
The announcement comes a year after religious groups such as The American Family Association and The Catholic League boycotted retailers including Wal-Mart last holiday season for excluding the word "Christmas" from products sold in stores.
"We, quite frankly, have learned a lesson from last year," Wal-Mart spokeswoman Linda Blakley told USA Today in a separate report. "We're not afraid to use the term 'Merry Christmas.' We'll use it early, and we'll use it often."
Besides resurrecting its Christmas pitch, the retailer is also determined to be the leader in this year's holiday price wars.
The November-December holiday shopping period is a critical time for merchants since it can account for as much as 50 percent of their profits and sales.
To that end, Wal-Mart was the first out of the gate to chop prices on toys and electronics much ahead of its competitors like Target (Charts), Toys 'R Us, Costco (Charts) and others.
To support its Christmas deals, the report said Wal-Mart will launch TV ads next week that trumpet "Christmas." It's changing the name of its seasonal decorations department to "The Christmas Shop" from "The Holiday Shop."
Moreover, Wal-Mart stores will play Christmas carols throughout the holiday period and about 60 percent more merchandise will be labeled as "Christmas" rather than "holiday" items, the paper said.

Made to order waffles? If you have a waffle iron (sm)
you could have fresh blueberries and strawberries and cool whip and all the waffle fixings, let them each choose how they want theirs and make it right there at a decorated table! Also bacon and eggs and maybe some hasbrowns? What a great idea!
As the saying goes - "Let lying dogs sleep" - no DNA is not in order
What on God's good earth would that accomplish? So that some sick tabloid could then publish a story about this? Those kids know MJ as their father. I don't care whether someone thinks they don't or do look like him. I have a brother in law who looks nothing - and I mean absolutely nothing - facial features, hair color, skin color, or anything, like anyone in his family or even any ancestors in his family. When husband and his sibling are together they all act alike and they all have the same smile, two of them have the same eyes, 3 of them have the same nose, and the way they say certain things they sound like each other and their parents, but not my BIL, his hair, skin color, the way he laughs, talks, or moves - absolutely nothing like his mother, father or any of his siblings. They joke that he was switched at birth, but from the time he was born he was never out of his mother's site in the hospital.
I think most of America does not need to know whether or not the children are really his. For someone to come out and say "I think a DNA is on order", the family should tell that media clown - it is none of your business, leave Michael Jackson's kids alone. They are going through enough as it is. I hope MJ's family tells them no. And I think Debbie Rowe should keep her trap shut.

well....it depends on how you look at it.
I think your Halloween decorations sound great!! Pretty spooky, IMO. It depends on how you look at the situation. Halloween, in reality, is not just a fun holiday. It actually stands for All Hallow's Eve and if you are into pagan religion this is your favorite night of the whole year...it is the Devil's New Year. We have been celebrating this holiday forever, but just for fun and tricks, BUT...at the same time pagans have been celebrating "the new year."
The preacher as well as God's people come with responsibilities and duties to fulfill--a preacher just has a tougher role (leadership)to fill. Not my rule, God's rule.
At the same time, he is not supposed to totally interfere with your life. He should not judge you (10 commandments say "Thou shalt not judge") and if he has said everything you have told here, then he has placed a judgement on you, which he will be held accountable for. Sometimes Christians (regardless if Baptist, etc)can get themselves in major trouble just by the way they word something. In reality, what he should have done was just prayed to God for your family (not saying anything bad about you--just what he or any Christian who feels offended in some way should do)and asked God for His help in dealing with his feelings towards your decorations.
Hope this helps!! Have a great day!!
Depends where she gets them. sm
We were in California, and she bought from some costume firm in Chicago. Usuall ran anywhere from $60 to $90 for costume for each recital.
$54 for six weeks is a decent price. Sorry you can't watch. We were always allowed to stay for the session, and show up at the end and watch. That seems strange to me.
It depends.
I have one on right now but some days the girls breathe
It depends on the kid (SM)
I have 3 girls. They are all so different that they cannot be grouped by behavior based on their gender alone. The oldest has so much 'tude and is quite difficult. The second is a breeze. The third, well, she's 1, so I don't know too much yet, but she seems to be the easiest of them all.
Depends
My newphew is on it and has lost almost all his weight. He had tried several things, including So. Beach, but nothing worked. He had gained weight after knee surgery, etc. - needed to get it off because his work is teaching martial arts!
He says the food is good. It is costly, however.
I can't afford it, so I'm just counting calories and keeping a food diary. I just write down the time, the food and the # of calories I eat throughout the day. Putting it on paper keeps me honest and I like trying to keep it at 1200 or less calories a day.
depends on what you are looking for
and how old kids are. Cape Cod, White Mountains/Conway NH, Maine seacoast, Olde Orchard Beach, Boston, Lake Winnepesaukie (sp) in New Hampshire.
That depends... Here is a tip
Contributions can either go to a general fund which goes toward regular expenses, i.e. lights, cleaning, etc. You may also designate that contribution to a special program, i.e. youth department, sound system, etc. All contributions that are designated can not be spent on anything else except for that particular program. As for the cards, that is a personal decision. Generally, a card to the family addressed to the spouse is sufficient. My suggestion would be to mark a date on your calendar a month from now and do a follow up call. See how the family is doing and check for any specific needs. Often times they just need to talk.... so be available.
I not sure but I believe it depends
on the risk level. There is a sex offender living directly behind us. He was a high school coach and had an affair with a student. She was 16 or 17. Her mother found a ton of revealing love letters between them and she gave him warning once if it did not stop, she is going to turn him in. It did not stop so she turned him in. The gal was willing but still he was the adult in the situation and he should not have taken advantage of her. Anyway, I have seen him exercising in the park. I don't think I have seen him at ballgames though.
I think it depends on the kid...sm
I have 3 and of course they all have different personalties. My oldest DS started about the age of 2 and he was a snap. Then my DD came along and she was, and still is, so stubborn and strong-willed. She was probably almost 3 before she was potty trained. Then youngest DS was probably 3 1/2 before he was out of diapers. Never thought I would get through those days, and now they are 20, 17, and 15.
Depends . . . . sm
Is it just you? If so,I'd wait and draw full plus work. If you don't need the $$,go ahead and retire. I'd probably wait anyway because I don't know what I'd do with all that free time!
Depends -- they may not
Insurance laws have changed but when I worked for an insurance company you had to be covered by that insurance company nine months for the birth to be covered. Otherwise everyone would go out and get insurance during their ninth month. But since they have that new law with continuous coverage and if it is a group plan, it might be different. You have to be upfront about it, cannot hide it so might as well call your new insurance and ask them but be sure you get a manager or someone who knows what they are talking about, see something in writing about what is covered on your new plan, etc. It should be in there. But do not be shocked if it is not covered because like I said, they sometimes do require nine months of coverage or else they call it a pre-existing condition. Also lots of times they will not cover the pre-delivery testing either. Again, get some information from your new company so you can decide if you need to COBRA over or not. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
It depends
I think it really depends on who the boys are and how well you know them. When I was a kid, I only had guy friends so there were no real sleepovers with the girls and my guy friends would never have dreamed of doing anything rude or anything to me to be afraid of. I am only 30, so it wasn't that long ago. I think it would depend on the girl and if I knew the boys she hung around with. Obviously, you wouldn't want her to do that with boys she didn't know or couldn't be trusted, but I never had friends like that I was close to. I know a 19-year-old who is the same way and is the daughter of one of my good friends. She has a several best friends who are boys and my friend never had to worry about them sleeping over or camping or going out of town. I wouldn't say no if you know them and you know your daughter. it would be different maybe if she was going camping with her boyfriend or with strangers.... then I might have to think about whether or not that was really okay with me as a mother in your situation.
It depends on the day.
School mornings are crazy so its usually a granola bar, pop tart, piece of fruit or something of the like and then maybe a mid morning bowl of cereal, oatmeal, or cream of wheat.
On weekends my hubs is usually the one up early so he usually makes a traditional-type breakfast with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, etc. or pancakes, french toast, or waffles.
During the summer I went through a homemade egg mcmuffin sandwich phase. Those were quick and easy but not quick enough for school mornings.
Funny, we had breakfast for dinner last night. Scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, toast, bacon, and OJ. It's been a long time since I have done that and I told my hubs this should be a once a week dinner. Its so simple, easy, and healthier than a lot of other stuff. Besides kids love it! :)
Just this morning I was thinking I need some new ideas for quick mornings but i hate buying prepackaged stuff like poptarts.
Depends. How old is he? sm
Will you incur penalties? Can you roll it over into something guaranteed? Depends on your situation.
QVC...depends
Well, the sets I saw are "cheaper", but not the "same" set you find from American Girl directly. I.e. The Molly doll came with a cuople of outfits, a stand, a couple of books, and I think her pet, which not the exact same set. So it is more than just the doll and one book, but less expensive to get all of that stuff it comes with separately. The doll and book alone from american girl is less $$ but does not include the extra outfit, etc. I didn't watch when it was on in Sept., so maybe they have other accessories or furniture on the show too. I am guessing they sell out fast! Also, if you have not done this, check out the American Girl website for the sales and monthly specials. Over the summer, I got a $40 toboggan for $20 - of course you do have the shipping charge but still cheaper. So they do have some good deals there too, just that there may or may not be an item to go with the doll you have or are looking for...
It depends on what you buy.
My in-laws lose power all the time so they invested in a whole house generator that is built in so all they have to do is flip a switch and their power is back on. They run everything and you can't tell any difference. It cost them thousands to do this but they saved to have it done before retirement.
Prior to that they had the generators you buy at the hardware store and it only ran the refridgerator and heat. You could add the lights for a short period of time but they were very dim. Those they had to fill with gas every couple hours and it was a lot of work.
That reminds me to charge up my other computer and cell phones too.
I'm somewhere in PA, depends what
TV news you listen to; i.e., Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (3 stations), Phila., Lancaster, etc.. LOL
I'm closer to the Berks/Lancaster area and nobody ever heard of vinegar on scrapple. I grew up that way. It does give a bit of zing to the scrapple yet doesn't hide the true flavor.
We grew our tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets this year. They did really good. You could do it too. We experiment every year with 1 or 2 plants to try to get fresh tomatoes through the winter. Did it 1 year a long time ago, but failed to write down what we did, so we've been testing and testing..
Depends on their age and I think I would
let them ask. My ex told my daughter about some stuff that she didn't ask about, which I really did not appreciate. If they ask I wouldn't lie, but I would not volunteer anything.
