It is indoor accidents. (m)
He does go pee and poop outside but he is having a lot of accidents inside as well. I was unsure how long I should be keeping him out of the crate at one time. A lot of times I am watching him but he just goes and I am picking him up as he is doing it. Thanks for any suggestions.

I guess I'd have to fire myself since I'm the cleaning lady around here because sometimes I occasionally break things accidentally. I guess that's the risk one takes with a cleaning person/service, but they're human and mistakes happen.
My lab mix was pee trained in one day at about 6 weeks old, only a few poo accidents- sm
As soon as I got Walter home, the very second we got out of the car I put him down in the yard where I wanted his potty place to be and he peed immediately. Then I put him on a schedule where I religously put him in the potty place as soon as he woke up from a nap, about 15-20 minutes after eating, and before we went to bed. I also kept an eagle eye on him almost consistently for the first week or so (not hard because he was so cute)... he stayed on a dog bed in my office when I was working and the instant he started sniffing at anything I picked him up and took him to the potty place... a couple times I was running with him and he started to dribble before I got there. Sniffing means he is looking for a place to go! Make no bones about it, he is not doing anything else!
As far as pooing, puppies go pretty consistently about a half hour after eating. They have really tiny bladders so you can count on this. No matter what I was doing we went outside at that time. Whever I heard a tiny whine I take him to potty place. I figured he had a belly ache just like a baby might and usually he would go number two. The few times he did poo in the house was my fault. I ignored the whining or was not paying attention. I swear to you... Walter has never ever ever peed in my house. But to be honest, when he was a puppy whenever I brought him to visit another house he almost instantly peed out of nerves. So embarrassing. When I realized he did that I had him meet my friends outside of their homes! He would wiggle in delight but pee.
But for the first few weeks, I never left this dog alone at all and my big priority was to get him housebroken asap. You may not have that option if you have to leave for work or something. Walter went with me on errands and whenever I let him out of the car he would pee. So he also loves riding in the truck because he did it so much.
When I got Walter he was a little under 6 weeks old... pretty young. So I think I became his mom pretty quick and he was pretty moldable. I have made plenty of mistake, though, like letting him sleep on my bed and now he is 120 pounds and still does that. I don't know too much about puppy pads, but I would think that is still encouraging the dogs to pee in the house. Good luck! 
I would also look up stories of teenage car accidents (sm)
and show them to her, the more sad and terrible the better. I would take her on a tour of the juvenile detention center in your town. I would drive through downtown at night with her and let her see how people live on the streets. I would look up every case of STDs I could find and show her pictures. I would get just as blatant as she is. If my child ever said F* you to me, I would know it was time to jump into action. I would purposely try to scare the cr*p out of her by showing her reality. And if I had to, I would let her to to a drug rehab or juvenile detention for a while, to let her wake up.
I agree, accidents happen, but she should have
asked you before starting to 'clean in there.' Maybe you could have rescued some itmes before.
But if her work is otherwise satisfactory, I would tell her to be more careful and let it go.

Pet indoor rabbit
A newscaster had a pet rabbit and talked on TV about how nice it was and caused us to want one. Since then we bave had 2. Neither of them used the litter box all the time but both used it some of the time. They both chewed on everything. The first one had cancer and died, probably from all the foreign material he had eaten. The second one chewed on everything so much we took him to the nursing home where our sister-in-law was. The nursing home had a courtyard where they already had one rabbit and they were willing to take him. We would love to have another one, but we are afraid to try it again. We loved both of them. They have more personality than I would have every dreamed rabbits had. Ours watched TV, jumped high into the air when they were happy. I always felt sorry for them because they would tremble with fear when they had to go to the vet. They would thump when they didn't like something. Both of them loved rabbit's foot ferns. They would stand on their hind legs and eat all the fern as far as they could reach. Another bad thing about having rabbits is that they do not live very long and you get attached to them and then they die. Another thing once they are out of the cage it is torture for them to have to go back.
My father in law tried that with his indoor cat
and once they got outside the cat totally flipped out like a crazed wild animal. It was a very scary experience from what he described. So just be careful.
He is an indoor dog. I doubt very seriously

I don't keep dirty dishes or garbage and don't have any indoor plants. I found that they love old coffee. They are amazing.
Steaks on indoor grill
like a George Foreman are not the best. Maybe because the pressure from the closed grill makes all the juices run out, I'm not sure. I was determined to learn how to make a great steak indoors and I tried everything including the indoor grill. Did some research and I found most sources suggested cooking on the stove in a thick bottomed nonstick pan (I use Calphalon)with no oil, no butter, just start with a very hot pan. Wow, were they right. It somehow keeps all the juices in and they sort of blacken almost on the outside and are the best! And you don't even really need much seasoning aside from maybe salt and pepper. My husband can't believe how great they are and swears that must be how the restaurants cook them. Just wanted to share that with you.
We had our 2 indoor cats declawed, too.
They never go outside either and they both have done fine since.
Don't think it's a bad thing, especially if they are indoor cats. nm

Have you ever successfully rehomed an indoor-
And of course this is assuming you were honest with potential adopters, and told them the cat was a mental-case that would only use the box about 40-50% of the time. Or do you feel a cat such as this (otherwise a sweet & beautiful purebred) is "un-adoptable" and should be put down?

we have indoor/outdoor cats
They are allowed to come and go as they please. They have all their shots. We have never had any complaints. I have had five cats that were both indoor and outdoor. One died of old age at 14 and one of heart disease at 12 1/2, one was hit on the road at 3, and the other two are still here. They are 8 and 6. They enjoy going out, and I wouldn't want to take that away from them. We have 5 acres and they probably stay mostly on our land, but I really don't know for sure. Actually, the 8 yo probably doesn't go very far; he usually only wants to stay out for 10 minutes.
I've witnessed indoor rabbits
and they are quite destructive with their chewing. I was in a business where a rabbit was allowed to roam. It was destroying the wood trim all around the room, and also chewing the couch fabric. We had an outside rabbit when I was a kid. She died of a foot infection. I read those are fairly common in rabbits.
If you keep the rabbit outside, be aware that many dog breeds can't help themselves around rabbits ... my two, for example.
And hamsters are huge escape artists. Since they are nocturnal, they escape at night. It's a real pain, especially if you have a cat.
Help with Grilled Chicken / Indoor grilling please
Ok, so I am really bad at cooking. We eat out most of the time, but I want to change that because I know it's not healthy and it's very expensive. My kids (ages 4 and 5) really like grilled chicken breast, but I have no idea how to make it!
I bought an indoor grill....actually I bought two. I have one of the George Foreman type contact grills and I also got an indoor open grill. I tried making chicken breasts last night, but they didn't taste that good. I don't know what seasoning would be good to use.
So can anyone help me out here? How can I make a delicious chicken breast on the indoor grill? I use boneless skinless breasts. I also usually end up over-cooking them for fear of eating raw chicken - and then they dry out 
Any advice is appreciated. Would also appreciate some advice on making good steaks on the indoor grill. What cut of steak? Seasoning? HELP!!!!

Not sleeping
Sometimes your hormones will prevent you from sleeping. The night before my little friend comes every month, I have trouble sleeping.
My 11yr old cat has taken to sleeping
on my bed during the day exactly where I sleep. He often gets in bed with us at night, something he has never done. He also wants to be more sociable and wants to be petted a lot. Is this odd behavior? I'm thinking maybe he know something that I don't. He seems healthy enough, the last vet visit he had a very good check-up. Should I be worried?
Maybe the baby was sleeping.
I know mine all had lower heart rates in the 1-teens when they were sleeping when we did ultrasounds and listened to their heart beats. When they were awake it ranged from 130s-160s. I hope yours is okay.

college kids sleeping together
I have an 18 and 21 year old (both girls) that go to college. Both of them have boyfriends out of State. So they come to visit and these boys sleep in another room because my daughters know I would not care to have them sleep in the same beds in my home. I told them I am not running a hotel. I always tell them there is a diference between a college dorm and our home. What happens at college I don't see. Last night I asked the 18 year old when you go to your boyfriend's house who is 20where do you sleep. (I never met the parents. She said the stepmom said she would not have a problem sharing the same bed in her home but knows that her stepson does not share one in our home so she wants to respect our wishes. I know when my daugther went off to college she was never sexually active and had morals. This woman is 38 and I am 52. There is also a 10 year old boy that lives in that same house. My daugter told me they are more like hippies compared to us. Am I being a prude or does anyone feel the same way I do.

Tell him that you can't stand the stench because it can't be good. Not taking care of/repairing your teeth is as bad as not taking a shower/practicing basic good hygeine. It's pretty gross.

Just leave him, if he doesn't love you he can still love your kids long distance. I wouldn't have let him come back the first time. You need to think about yourself and your children, let sleeping dogs lie.

and please do. a family member had braces in elementary school and they came out beautiful. somewhere after marriage, kids, she stopped wearing the retainer. she is not in her 40's and her teeth shifted back to almost day one.
wear the retainer while sleeping - it's no biggie compared to the waste of time and money and beautiful smiles.

We used to live in a town that was once in the Guiness Book of World Records for number of churches per capita (which by the way was the worst place I've ever lived - discourteous, Nazi schools, etc.), and they wouldn't let us trick or treat on Sundays. Ridiculous! People can say what they want but celebrating Halloween doesn't make you a devil worshiper! Just my 2 cents!

made teriyaki chicken and macaroni and cheese from a box. Tonight is chicken and rice. Tomorrow night is leftover teriyaki chicken :-)
my dogs are basically indoor dogs sm
but have a doggie door to go in and out as they please. Sometimes our Jack Russell gets excited and barks inside the house. My DH grabs is belt and snaps it and the loud noise shuts her up right away. I am not trying to frighten our dog, but many times just saying knock it off doesn't work.
Yes, I used to take 20 mg at night
and this worked very well for me. I also felt a little out of it for the first week or so, but give it time to work as I didn't notice any changes until about 3-4 weeks after taking it. I'm sure you know this, but don't stop taking it altogether without weaning because I actually ran out of it once for about a week and I had really bad symptoms of withdrawal after the second day.
Hope it works for you! It really did help me a lot, and I got to a point where I didn't need it anymore.
Do you take it all during the day or only at night?
I took that 1/2 a tab this morning and fell asleep on the couch after lunch. Ended up oversleeing for my 2:00 shift. Don't want to do that anymore.

At first when I went to bed I was freakin' out! I did not sleep that well, but them drifted off. I think maybe when Hermie comes home at night (He works at home, but has a job a few evenings second shift) when he check his mail he leaves the front door open. I think that is how they get in! He said he had three in about 5 years!! See my post about Hermie. I'm havin' some unsavory thoughts! HAAAA!
Yes, the party was a smash hit. My precious growled at me when I acted like I ws gonna take her new rope toy. I heard this little ERRRRRR under the table and cracked up. She loves to jump up on my lap about 500 times per visit, but last night those jump-ups were rather limited. She was GUARDING HER TOY! Every time she jumped up I could see her looking to the side with her big eyes watching the toy on the floor! 
I will try to enjoy my day. Some days I am not really up for just being alone and doing errands, but today I am. I need to relax. I have had so much pain lately again. I am glad we are email friends and sure wish we could get together sometime. Do you enjoy watching the agility trials and dog shows? I wish I knew of a place when it gets cooler to do to just take a lawn chair and watch these fabulous dogs perform for the crowds! I don't know if I told you before, but I went to Westminster with my niece and friend in 2006! What a thrill! I wrote a song and sang it on CD and took along and gave it to David Frei. I sure wish you could hear it! About a month ago I wrote another song about a dog show, but I really don't want to go to the expense now to find someone to play for me and put it on CD.

That was our FAVORITE dinner! Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast! I still do that now, though not as often. I get hungry just thinking about bacon.
COF night
We do a COF night - clean out the fridge - where we just warm up all the leftover from the meals during the week. Usually was something leftover from every meal or frozen in containers to just microwave as all it takes is adding a bit to the weekly meals. Everyone seems to like it and finds plenty - just get out some applesauce or fruit to add and we are good. Sometimes throw in a batch of cornmeal muffins.

AI last night
I was very happy with last night's outcome. I love Adam and I think Allison is amazing for being so young. Not too sure about Chris. I really don't like the way they're doing the voting at all this year, though because I thought there were more than 3 that should have gone through this round and last round. It will be interesting to see who their wild card picks are going to be. Did you know that Clay was a wild card and he ended up coming in second and being pretty successful.

I think the final 13 are about the best I have seen in several years now. Started off with a bang. I loved Danny, Lil and dog it, cannot think of the other's names yet. The group really is hot. I am glad to see it back as a contest of singing, hopefully not a contest of who is the most popular. This is a good group to choose from.
