urination? I know from a friend of mine that these are some symptoms. Also, my friend had blurred vision to the point she was afraid to drive. She went to an ophthalmologist for whom she used to work. He suspected diabetes and checked her sugar. It was over 600 in the office. She has seen been an insulin dependent diabetic. She was losing weight rapidly. You are just being a good daughter. Keep an eye on things for her.

Focus on getting healthy, not on losing weight
I don't know your height, but was 5Ǝ" and 175 when I started trying to get fit. I lost inches first before losing weight. It took 4-5 months to lose 25 lbs, going from a size 16 to 12. Once I got there, I was more fit than 93% of all women my age. I was doing mountain hikes that put my teenagers to shame.
A few years later, I had some GI problems and started losing inches and a bit of weight, but not much weight. I lost the muscle as I had already burned off the fat. I dropped only 5 lbs, but went from size 12 to a size 8. I was anorectic. I'm back up again. ugh.
Just wanted you to know that if you think about getting fit, you may be more successful than if your goal is to lose weight. A lot of people give up because they don't lose the weight they expect of themselves. Your body will tell you where you should be. If you lose too much weight, you'll stay sick. If you are fit and stay fit, you'll feel it in any muscle and bone of your body. Good luck! Sounds like your off to a good start.

Have you had your sugar checked?

Not everyone responds to emails, so you shouldn't get too distressed yet. Give it more time girl... like someone said especially around the holidays, even if you did priority mail. If it's just regular old snail mail then it could take a lot longer. The thing about how it is frustrating he hasn't responded, of COURSE it is!!! and it's rude. and I would leave that as a warning to others in the feedback, just that there was no response. Maybe he just knows he sent it and is not worried about it and is "too busy"... you never know.
As a frequent massage recipient....sm
You'll more than likely love the massage and how relaxed you'll feel afterwards. They'll find sore muscles that you had no idea were sore - but having the kinks worked out will make you feel tons better. Be sure to drink a lot of water after the massage to help flush out the impurities they release from the muscles.
I do leave my undies on.
Oh Eunice. That's really a shame. But I must say as a frequent
sufferer of insomnia myself, also mostly due to pain issues, I would be so eleated to get 5 to 6 hours of continuous sleep. I can't recall the last time that occurred. Why not follow your physician's recommendation regarding increasing the Pamelor, and if about 1 month you are still displeased with your sleep pattern, request a trial of another medication. There are plenty of them out there. Like I mentioned, trazodone is often prescribed as the initial line of therapy, most likely because it is non-addicting. If your PCP is prescribing the sleep aid, I would mention the problem also to your physician who is treating your fibromyalgia. He or she may be more up on what helps insomniac patients who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. If you want to discuss this further, feel free to post a message asking for my email address, as I have alot of experience and knowledge regarding sleep aids and could give you the ins and out if you so desire. Take care.
To PAMT down below regarding frequent urination sm
I, too, have to pee alot, and I get so tired of it. I think i'm going to the doctor after the kids go back to school. Sometimes I "leak" a little. I'm only 36 and I don't want to have bladder problems! I do love drinking water, and i don't know if it could be from possibly drinking so much water. Sometimes i even feel a little pressure while doing "bedroom activities", and will even have to stop in the middle and go to the bathroom. I normally don't have pain, but the sensation of having to go and sometimes pressure. So no, you aren't alone.

I frequent the faith board
and I just want to say I agree with you 100%. This woman was irresponsible and is a perfect example of what's wrong with this country. ME, ME, ME it's all about ME. No matter that her poor old parents can't even enjoy a retirement because they have once again been forced into parenthood, but now she wants other people to take from the mouths of truly needy children (and animals!) and give to her brood.
Unfortunately, in saying all this, it is true that the children are innocent and will need to be cared for. I have never had children, so I won't pretend to know how this should be done, but obviously this woman has some psychological issues that need to be dealt with.
And kudos to you for starting an animal rescue! I would love to do that one day, but for now I just give strays a home until I can find them a forever home!
Anyone ever have very frequent urination but no other symptoms. What a pain this is. nm

Pugmom..the ED checks records and will know that you are not a frequent flyer....sm
And believe me, there are some that are there like every other day.
Something else you might want to do too( I have typed urology both adult and peds for 19 years now and have lots of hints LOL) is to walk as much as possible, drink LOTS of water, and perhaps cranberry juice. The walking is supposed to help the stone get moving, the liquids are to help flush it out once it starts moving. The cranberry juice should help with the start of an infection.
Some people though, never pass their stone(s) and have not one iota of pain and suffering once the initial diagnosis is made.
I am so glad to hear that you are doing better. Myself and others were worried for you. Glad you are back.
little by little in this country - losing ....nm
I think I'm losing my memory
I know as we get older we all joke about it because it seems to be true for a lot of us. But, do you ever worry that it could be something more serious? For the last 10 years, I've noticed that I can't remember numbers any more like phone numbers. I used to be very sharp and have a good memory but now I rely on notes. It sux!
I am always losing my hair.
All year round. A lot comes out in the shower and when drying my hair. My bathroom floor is covered. I have very thick hair. I never thought to ask my doctor about it. May be I should. I do not see any bald spots yet, but I will continue to watch. I just turned 50. I hope it does not get worse.
Losing a child
I think when people say this they are talking about children who have lived, a viable child. Your baby could not at 11 weeks have survived outside the womb. My question to you- would you much rather it have been born say with a myraid of birth defects and struggling to breathe, constant medical care, not able to walk by itself, needing constant medical/home attention just so it could have been born? I know it would be even more difficult for me to have that happen than nature taking its course as in demise in the womb.
I posted above about losing my mom sm
I remember walking with a couple of friends and complaining about my mom (while she was still alive) and one of the women said to me "I lost my mom and I would give anything to have another day with her". It was several years later before I lost my mom, but oh how those words play in my mind. I will hear the country song "Just one more day" and I have to turn off the radio. I miss her teribly and I personally think that is the way it should be. Just keep all of the wonderful memories. "hugs again"
Okay, losing my mind. I now see it! Thanks for the help. nm

Losing friends
When I lost my first one (my cat BB) I tried to keep him hanging on as long as possible but when I talked to him about it he let me know he wanted me to let him go and I held him when I took him to the vet and he purred the whole time. He knew he didn't have to suffer any more. The really hard stuff only lasts for 3 days, then you feel better every day. It's lots easier after you get the ashes back, you feel like they're home. On my hearth I have 4 late cats, 1 late husband, 1 late brother-in-law and my late mother. I never really feel like they're gone. I feel for you, hang in there.
I'm sorry you're losing him too. (sm)
Maybe he and Sasha will play together over the bridge. So far she is eating well and keeping her weight on, so perhaps we have a little more time. She's so precious.
have same problem after almost losing my
only 2 year old to renal failure. Had to find ways to give high calorie and stimulate appetite. From the vet get one called AD by Science Diet. Mine likes it mixed with a little warm water to pablum consistency. High in vitamins, protein, fat and vets give it to very sick cats - like TraumaCal in humans.
I am only 5Ƈ". When I weight my desired weight (sm)
my face looks bad - drawn. I like myself best when I weigh about 140-150.
I guess you know because it is not your fingers you are losing, NM

Read the papers, duh! People are losing their homes
for getting into this stuff.
Goes to show, you aren't that smart. Money in bank getting interest only. Come on lady, what planet do you live on? You are full of it. You are depending on the two most unstable things in the world right now. Talk about planning.
Parenting advice needed! I am losing my mind with my 14yo son. SM
He is so smart. I got his first grade card a couple of weeks ago, 2 Fs (Science and Computer Lit) and a D+ in English. The rest of his grades were acceptable. The problem isn't that he doesn't understand the subject matter in these classes, but that he simply doesn't do the work, doesn't turn in homework assignments, NOTHING!
I started having trouble with him last year and he barely passed the 7th grade. Now, here it is the beginning of a new school year and he's doing the exact same thing. He's grounded, of course, but that doesn't seem to make a difference to him. Last night his English teacher called to tell me he hasn't turned in any assignments since the beginning of the new quarter, that he simply sits there at his desk doing nothing while the rest of the class works. She said he seems to be easily distracted.
When I talk to him about school, he gives me attitude. Last night after I hung up with the English teacher, I was very angry, and proceeded to ground him longer and took away his IPod. He had the audacity to say "mom, you're really making me mad (only he didn't say "making me mad"). I took step toward him because I was about ready to slap his disrespectiful mouth and he said "you better not lay a hand on me." He threatened me! So I basically took a deep breath and said "son you do not want to take me on." And then I proceeded to tell him that he would be staying after school with his English teacher until further notice and that I will be picking him up every day after school to make sure he brings home all his books and homework.
I don't know what else to do. I have asked his teachers to keep me informed via email cause I'm always at my computer during the day. His Science teacher just emailed me and said he didn't turn in his assignment today. After all that last night and he STILL didn't turn in his assignment!
I tried to be understanding because he's at a new school in a new town, but socially he's happier than I've seen him in a long time. He has made a bunch of new friends, he's planning on going out for the basketball team. At first I tried to blame his attitude problems on the move and the new school, but he was doing the exact same thing last year at his old school. His dad and I have separated and maybe that has something to do with it, but life has been less stressful without his dad here, even my son has said so.
Please give me some advice. I've thought about talking to the school counseling, going to family counseling, having my son see a therapist. I just don't know what to do. I feel like I'm failing as a parent here and I don't know what to do.
Thanks for letting me spill my guts.
Crickets, airports (not planes), spiders, losing my kids...
My chiropractor said his plastic surgeon friends are losing their practices.
At least here in C.FL, plastic surgery is tanking!
I'm sorry. It's rough losing a pet. I lost my dog, Tate a couple years back. SM
He was a sheltie and he used to lay under my desk when I worked and I would rub him with my foot and he was a great foot warmer in the winter! I used to say, he wasn't my dog, I was his person. He got sick and then his liver failed and I had to have him put to sleep because he was suffering. I cried for weeks! I still haven't gotten another dog. My kids have been begging me and they've almost wore me down, but for a long time after Taters died, I just couldn't bring myself to even think about another dog. I compromised and got the kitty last summer. I've never had a cat before, so I didn't know if I'd like a cat or not. I've always been a dog lover, but I've been quite taken with my little cat. He's ornery little guy and I love to play cat and mouse with him.
Listen to me just gush! Sorry about that.
weight
Buy less and tell him "this has to last until next Wednesday" or whatever. A calorie is a calorie, so eating "too much" is a habit you need to help him break.
Her weight has really come down
from around 13 or so to now 5 and I started her myself on kittie food (read it has more calories than cat food) and also an extra calorie boost that I got at Petsmart. The cat is feeding and drinking well but she is so skinny. The vet put her on additional med Friday saying possibly she was having organ failure- of course I know what that meant- hate to hear but my posting is I wondered if the sounding off just attention getting. I do not want in pain (I have enough of that for the both of us, ha!) but wondered if just wanting me to pick her up. Hard to do and type with just 1 hand!

You GO Girl.....keep up the good work!! Don't let me catch you with a chocolate bar or something that is not on diet plan.......LOL....LOL....LOL...
You might try Weight Watchers sm
I know that it is an expense, but so worth it. You can eat regular food, but most importantly, there are group meetings with lots of support. You'll meet nice people of all ages with the same struggles, and the goals are not set too high at first. It sounds like you feel alone, and you're not. I found Weight Watchers to be helpful in that you can eat regular food and the instructors were really supportive. We'd laugh and then get serious about our quests. You may want to consider a counselor (not being mean here), but I hear your cry for help. Why not make an appoint with your primary care doctor just to express your concerns. You have the power (you are special ya' know)!
My weight, unlike yours, has nothing to do with
the amount of attention I get from my husband, loads of that and I am overweight. He treats me like the love of his life. I would say to you maybe the body habitus you have really is not playing a part in the attention seeking you want. If I were thin, I really do not think my husband would be around. He told me no one wants a bone except a dog and they even try to hide theirs.....
well, i try to eat right. i need to lose some weight sm
so i do buy whole wheat stuff, bread, wraps, spaghetti. i buy low fat/fat free lunchmeats, 2% cheese. i don't buy cupcakes and cookies (or else i'd eat them!) i don't drink much milk, not that i don't like it, just don't drink it much. i drink more water than anything. i'll have about one diet dr. pepper a day. i love food, it's just trying to stay on a healthy track. my problem is i don't get enough exercise. i have a 5 y/o and an 8 y/o that keep me busy. but i do like to exercise.
Try Weight Watchers instead.
But how did she lose all that weight?
She was really heavy and saw her lately in my weekly rags and so thin now.
My furries weight
I was just at the vets office this morning with my big boy and took him for something else and the physician thought they would take the time to admonish me about his weight, telling me to change his diet, no wet food, only dry, smaller bit 2x a day. I tried to explain in a nice way I did not mind cutting back now but definitely did not want to change brands at this time because of the food recall. As she persisted, I got more hot under the collar, finally telling her it would be much easier for me to cut back on his food than to give him the wrong kind (mine is 1 that has never had a recall and feel safe with it right now) than it would for my cat to go into renal failure - you cannot put a cat on dialysis. I think she sorta got the point and lightened up. Ridiculous for her to suggest such a thing at this time with my explanation of why not wanting to change foods.
weight loss
The only tried and true method for weight loss is to burn more calories than you take in. For me, that means eating healthy (no junk) and lots of exercise. I jog every morning and work out at the gym 3-4 times a week with weights. If you build muscle, your metabolism increases even at rest. It gets so hard as we age and harder after each baby so consistency is really important. Good luck!
weight loss
I am doing a diet called the Abs Diet. There is a book available for it. You eat 6 small meals per day, lots of fiber and wheat, turkey, almonds. It has toning exercises targeted mostly for your stomach demonstrated in the book. You weigh at the beginning, middle, and end of the plan - a 6 week plan. In the first 2 weeks I lost 4 inches off my waist and dropped almost a point off my BMI. I'm never hungry and because of the protein and healthy things I eat I don't crave junk food. Of course, you have to drink 8 glasses of water per day, and they recommend if you must drink sodas to only have 2 per day, that is diet soda. Go to www.absdiet.com to learn more about the plan. Good luck!!
so, how much weight have you lost? nm
?
I have had some weight loss
It hasn't been like a big dramatic thing, but I'm down about 5-6 pounds. I'm sure part of that is that I have been watching my fat and calories, but I actually feel like I'm eating pretty well. I have been more active, too, getting out and walking every night, working in the yard, and it's been hot and humid here in Wisconsin so I'm sure I've sweated some off. You know, I don't know if it works, but I do know I would pay more than $50 every 4-6 weeks for a personal trainer or motivator, and I kind of use this as my personal trainer. I know that I should watch my fat, and I don't try to have a big cheesy pepperoni pizza and take Alli to make it all go away, because I know then I might have those nasty treatment effects. But for the last week and a half, it has kept me honest in my eating for the most part, and for me that's worth it. I need to drop about 40 pounds to get to my goal, and I'm shooting for February to do that by, so I'm going for the slow steady loss, hopefully Alli will help me get there.
weight problem
My son, who is now 27, has always had a weight problem. I tried absolutely everything and nothing worked. I tried Weight Watchers, which has children's meetings and this worked the best. Also contact local hospital, sometimes they have children weight loss programs.
Your weight problem may be due to your
I hope you feel better soon. Usually weight problems are psychological, and it sounds like you are under a lot of stress.
That's a weight off your mind!
Glad it was just a contact allergy to something avoidable.
I can't touch roses myself.
I don't think you can be happy at any weight sm
I've never been skinny. I am a happy person. I would like to lose weight, but it isn't going to ruin my life if I'm never skinny. I have a good marriage, 2 beautiful children, a job I enjoy, hobbies I enjoy, ect.
I know a woman though who weighs maybe 100 pounds soaking wet with her pockets full of rocks and she is the biggest B I know. She is always grumpy and unhappy. She dislikes anyone who is very happy and thinks they are just pretending for others to see.... then again I know a woman who is nearly 300 pounds with the same attitude.
I don't think weight has anything to do with the happiness of the person, but rather the other things in life.
Weight loss
Good luck with your weight loss. I'm also trying to lose weight and am down 8 pounds. Do you know anyone who is in Weight Watchers? I couldn't afford to join, but my neighbor was a member and gave me all the pamphlets and I'm following the points system on my own. I also walk every night for about 30-45 minutes.
About Weight Watchers...(sm)
If you look hard enough, you can find the information to do "home-grown" Weight Watchers. Their point system is patented and therefore public information. Since you plug in little factoids about your food (calories, fat, and fiber) to come up with the points value and the number of points for your weight are available with a online search, it is possible to do this without the Weight Watchers meetings or online support. I did. I lost a buttload and kept it off. You can do it too. Now just jog/walk while you watch the TV and you're good to go--for free. I get all revved up to do exercise videos for about 3 days. I have wasted too much money on them. :)
Trying to lose weight
Has anyone tried Hoodia and does it work?
NO WEIGHT GAIN AFTER
When I had my TOTAL hysterectomy at age 30, my doctor told me that I should not use the excuse that I had a hysterectomy and gained weight. He said that was an excuse and if I gained weight, it certainly would not be because I had a hysterectomy. Well, I'm here to tell you (31 years later) I never gained "because" I had a hysterectomy. In fact, I never gained an ounce. Now, have thyroid problems and have LOST weight tremendously but not because of a hysterectomy or any other reason. Can't do the diet thing, because I don't have THAT kind of will power! Best of luck you to and all....
