Is it the flu?

Forgive my ignorance but no one in my family has ever had influenza so I don't know exactly what it looks like.

My daughter (she is 15) has a sore throat and a slight fever and body aches.  Her legs are hurting so much that she is holding on to furniture while she walks.  Her arms hurt also.  She says it is her muscles, not her joints.  She has a slight headache too.  No chills or cough and the fever is not even 100, but she has had ibuprofen in her system all day to try and combat the aching legs so maybe that is keeping the fever down.

I don't want to miss the opportunity for treatment if it is the flu, but I don't want to spend the time and money for a wasted doctor visit if there is no treatment anyway.

What do you all think?
