The risk of suicide is greater in people with depression anyway sm
I personally have suffered from depression for most of my life, and the only time I feel "normal" is when I am on some kind of antidepressant. It takes time and a patient understanding doctor to work with you until you are on the right one at the right dosage, but I strongly feel that it is irresponsible and dangerous to tell someone not to take an antidepressant if they need it. You don't go telling diabetics that they shouldn't take insulin because people taking it are more likely to have high blood sugar do you? Makes about as much sense to me
About the suicide. I had a very, very close family member commit suicide recently. sm
Let me say this. There were absolutely, positively no warning signs whatsoever. None. One day he was there and the next I get a call that he had killed himself. If you talk to anyone who has a family member whose done this it is always a complete shock.

She's just using that as a cry for help. To get people to feel sorry for her. I'm telling you, if you are anywhere near a Joyce Meyer conference you need to drag her to one. This girl needs Jesus. She needs a complete and total healing. I believe that is the only way she will survive this.
just because your risk diminishes doesn't mean you aren't still at risk!
why does it seem worthless to quit? what if you have a CHANCE of living longer?? you may be diagnosed with cancer still, but it may be sooner than later. Your argument makes no sense, to say that no one is affected by your second hand smoke do you ONLY SMOKE ALONE IN YOUR HOME and nobody visits you ever? if you EVER smoke in public, someone is affected. i can't believe I'm counseling someone who has smoked for longer than i have been alive. i mean that's just my opinion, you are going to do what you want, it's not my business, but if you enjoy smoking and dont care if you die sooner than later, continue on.

I think you are wise to think of the possible problems with the medication. . it may or may not be related.
I would get it checked since it is suddenly different and sm)
in just one eye. I have them too but I would get it checked if it was like yours. Just to be safe. Sorry for any typos - no contacts in yet this morning
Divorce is like suicide
It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Wait a while and things will get better. It always does. I have been married to the same guy for 40 years and I dated him for 5 years before I married him and based on this experience I give you my "aged" wise advice!

I think you are just ticked off that he never considers what you want to do and so you feel like if he went to Africa or somewhere for a few months it would give you a respite from anger. Go to counseling or get a friend of his (if he has one who is suitable) to let him know that your complaint is a valid one and that he needs to take a look at his behavior of always making plans without consulting you. Let him know that you guys are a "we" not an "I". Just temporarily, go downtown and get a pedicure and buy something new for your trip that he planned that you did not want to go on. You will feel better, have a new outfit or two, and your feet will be lovely until this resolves itself (and it will).
Sometimes it comes down to divorce OR suicide
I've known too many people who pretended it would get better someday and it never did.  All it did was add years of misery to their lives.  Depends on the issues and the big picture - sometimes divorce is the best answer.
assisted suicide
How do you feel about it? Negative, positive? I know each case is unique but it's always a terminally ill patient and usually there is quite a bit of suffering involved. What are your thoughts?
Hey! my nails are suddenly improving
I have always had weak fingernails. I recently read I can blame the Raynaud's I have. But my nails are suddenly getting harder and growing, so I wanted to share the possible causes.

1) I just started using Burt's Bees lotions. I have the shea buter hand repair creme, and also the Babby Bee buttermilk lotion. These are great products. I especialy like the Baby Bees because the fragrance is really nice. I'm going to try a lot more of their products.

2) I just started taking vitamin D. I bought the kind with calcium and without. Calcium is good, but can be constipating, so I am taking one one day and the other the next. I decided to take it because it is supposed to be helpful for depression, and since I'm working at home now and not with people, I don't want to get depressed. But I was surprised to find the healthfood store didn't have a lot of products with D in it, so I think people have missed the news about how important vitamin D was discovered to be a couple of years ago. Don't want to get MS? Take vitamin D now. Want to keep your teeth? Take vitamin D. Want to do all you can to avoid cancer? Take vitamin D. Don't want your mother-in-law to break a hip and come live with you? Buy her vitamin D! Here is one article:

http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20041009/bob8.asp

So either the lotion or the vitamin D is finally giving me decent fingernails. Worth a try if yours are weak.

wouldn't bother me...maybe he is just suddenly==sm
into aromatherapy. maybe he just discovered that certain scents make him feel good, as we all do. If you are worried, just ASK him. Probably nothing. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill and keep suspicious mind to yourself. If he thinks you suspect something, he may give you something to be suspicious of. good luck to you.
Assisted suicide here in Georgia
A man here in Georgia went a website called Final Exit as he had decided to end his life, had been suffering with cancer of the head, mouth, etc. Now the people who helped him have been arrested for participating. Apparently they use helium and the person or else the people around him then use a bag over his head and from what I am hearing they hold his hands because once he makes his decision and says yes, no turning back. There are some states that allow assisted suicide, Montana and Washington being a couple of them. What I want to know, I type and you probably have also of people at end of life being given morphine in the hospital to "make them comfortable" when actually all it does is speed up their demise by slowing down respiration, etc. I guess the medical profession is able to do their own "Final Exit" scenes but no one else?
Have you ever had your blood sugar suddenly

I was just wondering, because I think that's what happened to me today just as I was finishing up with getting a little exercise this afternoon.  Usually a piece of meat or cheese and I'm completely normal again, but this time it's much slower to go away.   Just as I was about to call it a day anyway, I suddenly got very weak-feeling and slightly nauseous, & a little light-headed.  Sat down until it passed, then skipped going to the market afterward, like I'd planned, and came home.  While driving home I was sweating so much that in about 10 minutes I was soaked.  I came inside, had some cheese and some slices of chicken, then lay down, using a big bath towel as a blanket since that's what was handy.  Soon that was soaked, too.  Felt better about 30 minutes later, took a hot shower and had some dinner.  Now I'm almost back at baseline.  I've had similar spells very occasionally in the past, but they always cleared up within minutes of having either some protein or a banana.   Does that sound like a hypoglycemic episode to you?  I'm not diabetic, in fairly good shape, not overweight, and do tend to eat a lot of sweets.

This little smiley shows how quickly it comes on, and how it feels!

Question re: disclosure of a suicide...
This is an odd question, but my neighbor's husband committed suicide in their home a couple of months ago.  Understandably she has decided to sell the house. I have had two people state that she has to "disclose" that information to a potential buyer.  Does anyone know if that's true? On the one hand I can understand this as I would want to know if something like that occurred in a home I was going to buy.  I'm not saying I would not buy the house for that reason, but would like to know beforehand rather than hear it down the road from someone on the street.  I suppose now I am curious if this is correct or not.
Asperger's doesn't suddenly get worse

All their peculiarities remain constant (and they have logical explanations for them when asked).  Nobody has developed new or different problems over a short course of time.

If they do something especially wierd, its usually just because they got bored, stressed, or were having a private internal joke.  This may be the case with the throat clearing or hair cutting; either way he should be able to explain if this is why.  Its usually best to ask right when they do it if something is wrong or why they just did that (otherwise they may not realize they were doing it at all).

Example 1 - John, who watches TV sitting crosslegged, habitually rocks and rubs his knees.  When I met John in 1985, he did not do this.  Gradually he started doing it more and more often, until it became the "norm" whenever he's watching TV.  Now an established habit (and pretty much an unconscious one), if you mention while out having lunch that he does it, he denies it.  But if you catch him doing it and point it out, he will laugh and realize he does it, ponder why, and tell you it has a calming soothing effect on him.  John may make jokes about doing it but seems unable to stop.  Occasionally if a visitor tells him to hold still, he will realize with a guilty start he's been doing it again and hold off for maybe 5 minutes, then he will start back up again without even noticing.  John also sometimes laughs loudly at nothing or starts talking to himself in half sentences, because his internal life sometimes breaks through to his external life.  If asked at the moment he does it, he will say he thought of something funny or was thinking really hard.  If you ask him a couple hours later, he'd deny it happened.

Example 2 - Tim, who is easily upset and stressed when his routine is interrupted.  He will pace the floor, rearrange the furniture, possibly cut his hair, maybe shout to release his anxiety, maybe retreat to bed in tears.  Tomorrow, if the routine goes as usual, he'll be fine.

Example 3 - Paula has issues with fluorescent lighting buzzing.  She goes to an unfamiliar grocery store, halfway through her shopping she starts to stress out from the buzzing.  If her wait in line takes too long, she will likely flee the store and leave her groceries behind.  When she is calmer she will go to a more familiar store and complete her shopping.

Does any of that sound familiar?  From the sounds of what you posted, I think there's got to be a different issue going on with him.

Yes, go now--don't risk your life any further! nm
......
i totally agree! common sense says he was with both when they suddenly sm
died of "over dose" and he was the one who gave the pills to daniel. something fishy to the obvious eye, but guess like OJ, you got money, you escape justice.
Has anyone every been awakened suddenly after biting your tongue in your sleep? SM
OMG. Does this hurt. I bit the very tip of my tongue really hard last night when I was asleep and now can hardly eat, drink, etc. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Wonder if one of those mouth guards would help. I was told I have TMJ and grind my teeth. Maybe that's what was going on!!!!   This is the second time it has happened!  Many months in between. . .
You would think the world came to an end if someone wedges in in front of them or stops suddenly
when they shouldnt be driving on top of everyone anyhow.  Like worry about the things that are worth worrying about.  Gets tiresome all the time.
and at the risk of sounding ignorant

isn't it true when one gets a vaccine, they are actually receiving some of the disease itself?....remembering back to smallpox vaccinations.......so are they going to vaccinate the girls by giving them a tad of cancer?  Really, I hate sounding ignorant but.......

Personally I think the women of the USA, Texas right now especially, should BE SCREAMING THEIR HEADS OFF about this.............That Rick Perry dude - says he sees this vaccination no different than a polio vaccination.....HOW DARE THEY when they know not much about this new drug/vaccination.........remember all the new-ish drugs that have been recalled and lawsuits abound?  Vioxx, Bextra, Accutane, hmmmmm....tons more......

At the risk of sounding very rude, I think you are the one who
needs to step away.  This is a mother who wants to help her son.  I don't care how old my son gets I'm here for him.  If I live to be 102 and he's 81 and he needs my help, he'll get it.  I'll always be his mama and that's what mama's do.  They help their kids.  My children are now 25 and 26 and I would turn myself inside out to help them if they needed it.  That's called love.
Are you prepared to list every risk
How far do you want it to go?  Fill out a huge form (that they paid someone to design instead of paying claims), that lists every supposedly avoidable risk imaginable, including amusement park rides, occasional bowling, how often and when you take a walk, if you might be a passenger on the back of someone's motorcycle, etc.  Then they can spy on you (instead of paying claims) or encourage your fellow employees to be whistle blowers, catch you doing something that you said you wouldn't do, and deny your insurance!  How often do you eat junk food - are you prepared to be completely honest and accurately estimate how often you intend to do that?  How often do you exercise - and what if you say you will but for some reason don't?  Prepare to lose your coverage over it because they can prove you a liar deliberately cheating the system.  That's what this is coming to!
honestly, I would risk it and play dumb. sm
I can only say that because this is anonymous. I can't do that in my case because what I have will not go away. However, I think she was haphazardly diagnosed and I would not just accept the consequences of someone else's negligence. I would skip listing that doc and list my prior doc and if it ever came up I would say I didn't know I was diagnosed with it.
At risk of being bashed, try to make friends with SM
the kid. If he is bully, he is probably sad and scared. I don't know, just go by and talk to him. Try to be his friend. I know this sounds crazy, but going the other route, police, yelling, I don't know what, just won't help.

It is important to note, however, that the majority of high-risk HPV infections go away on ..
